Thanks Red I have sen the picture before, but never with cast names on. He looks scrumtious In this interview from You Tube, Gerry mentions the Burns movie, and the fact that Julia Stiles is interested in it, but the interview must be from around 2005, so I didn't know if things had changed... Here's the interview... www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoDJLb7dfawWhile getting the link, I noticed that someone had commented underneith that Gerry has recently backed out of this project due to other movies he's doing....Please say it isn't so She didn't give a link to where she had read it, and wasn't sure if this is just a rumor. Anyone know anything?

An unusual video A RED, RED ROSE by Robert Burns, sung by Andy M. Stewart It’s one of the Bard of Scotland’s great poems, sung by Andy M. Stewart with Gerry Butler as Rabbie Burns. 18th and 19th century Scottish paintings and etchings were adapted as the background, and a number of actresses portray Burns’ wife and many loves. One can only hope that the movie about the life of Robert Burns will one day be made. If anyone can do it, Gerry Butler is the man. redrosesforvalentinesday.com/a-red-red-rose-by-robert-burns-sung-by-andy-m-stewart.php

Seriously can you picture him playing this role, I mean did any of you see Johnny Depp as Don Juan although the movie was cheesy the sexy affect Johnny depp had on me during it was umm yeah ok I'l watch that shit again kinda thing and again lol! Now kiss me Johnny, sorry got lost there for a min. anyways if you read up on who Burns was I think it sounds like an alter ego of Butler I think this will be a great role for him! And will make even more women cream themselves when he is on screen. What is it with the Charasmatic bad boys that make me weak in my knees damn....lol!

A Red, Red Rose [Hear Red, Red Rose] 1794 Poem By Robert Burns O my Luve's like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June: O my Luve's like the melodie, That's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonie lass, So deep in luve am I; And I will luve thee still, my dear, Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear, And the rocks melt wi' the sun; And I will luve thee still, my dear, While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve! And fare-thee-weel, a while! And I will come again, my Luve, Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile

You know I really could care less if Gerry does this film. I was looking forward to it becase Ger was so passionate about it. I truly believe that Corillanus and MGP will do much more for his career than this.
I have no doubt he could play the role of the womanizing Bard to him it would be as natual as breathing.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Burns. I've heard rumors that we may get to see some full frontal of Gerry in this movie. Crossing my fingers that it's true. The way he sat on the bed facing away from the moonlight in 300 kept us from seeing the really good parts.

ideas, daft ideas... Tuesday, 3 August 2010 What tomorrow's historians will find... It seems incredible, doesn't it? 250 years after his death, we've just found a letter to Robert Burns that sheds light on his last couple of weeks. This is a man who is, possibly, one of the most famous English language poets in the world. Crikey, even Gerard Butler has promised to get his kit off to do the Bard justice. How come no one had found it? The letter, from his boss, explains how he managed - while very poorly - to both collect his final pay packet and be languishing on his sick bed. bundance.blogspot.com/2010/08/what-tomorrows-historians-will-find.html

It seems that since "Burns" is "in production" right now, it would be Gerry's next movie!! There's been so much speculation on "Slide", yet I haven't heard much of anything on "Burns" lately!! I just wonder who will be cast in it with Gerry and when it will begin filming!?! Hmmmmm... kneum
