You better believe I'm going through that scene in slow-mo on my computer. Frame by frame if necessary.

Yay, got my copy. Great movie to watch again. Gerry really did not get enough credit for this role. Awesome performance!

I had to go to three different places to find the DVD- the Blu-Ray version seems to be flying off the shelves, it was sold out. Finally I found it at Borders at Union Square. And the sales clerk had to tell me how much she loved Gerry! Well she's not alone there!

Got the DVD and watched it last night. He is awesome in this. Anyone who got the BluRay, let us know what the extra 11 minutes is like.

Just as Gamer did very well on the sales/rentals end of the game check this out: Projections: Post Valentine’s Day Viewers Want Action By : Kelly Burner | Posted: 22 Feb 2010 With Valentine’s Day past and romance drifting away, consumers are ready for a thrilling actioner to blow away their rose-colored glasses. That’s why the Jamie Foxx/Gerard Butler thriller Law Abiding Citizen is perfectly poised to explode into first place on the national top sellers and rentals charts. Released by Anchor Bay Feb. 16, Law Abiding Citizen raked in more than $73 million in domestic theaters alone. Other films that streeted during the week ended Feb. 21 include the Sony Pictures biopic Coco Before Chanel ($6 million), which chronicles the rise to superstardom of one of the most notorious fashion designers of all time, and Lionsgate’s documentary Good Hair ($4 million), in which comedian Chris Rock investigates the African-American obsession with “good” hair. www.homemediamagazine.com/research/projections-post-valentines-day-viewers-want-action-18494

I'm kind of surprise there hasn't been more discussion about this movie. Okay, there are a few things I wanted to mention.
First of all, if you are one of the lucky owners of BluRay, what's the diff between the two? You don't have to go into spoiler detail, unless you want to label it as such. I'm just curious what the differences were.
Secondly, about swingage...when they film him from behind there is some swingage, but it is it the boys not the man if you get my drift. It's subtle but noticeable.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but when Gerry has that guy strapped on that contraption, in the theater version I remembered him saying something about a tongue clamp. This is not on the DVD. It's been edited out. I wonder if anything else if missing.
I also noticed that it must have been cold when Gerry was in the cage being interrogated because you can see his breath in front of his face on several occasions.
Another thing I thought about was the whole steak thing. There is no way on earth they would give an inmate a porterhouse or T-bone for obvious reasons. Then they give him a spork instead of silverware?
Anyone else notice anything or have something to share?

Then they give him a spork instead of silverware? Anyone else notice anything or have something to share? Ok, first of all. I thought the same thing about the steak. I don't think they would give an inmate a steak with a bone in it either, so didn't think that it was very realistic, but entertaining nonetheless. Even though it is very disgusting to watch, there was something about just watching Gerry go to town on that guy. About the Blu Ray, I don't have it, so I am curious to what the difference is aswell. In the commentary, they mention that the scene where he stabs his inmate is longer in the Blu Ray version, but other than that, I don't know where those 11 min. are? @soph. Didn't you say you were gonna get it? Oh, the tongue clamp. On the dvd he does say something like: "And we don't want you to swallow your tongue, so bear with me," and then he puts the tongue supressor in the guys mouth. I don't remember anything missing from that scene, though. Is that what you were thinking about, Steph? And I had thought about the whole undressing scene, and I know a lot of people have talked about why the heck he takes his clothes of when they come to arrest him. In the commentary, Alan explains that he does it because he doesn't want the Swat team to have any reason to shoot him, because that would ruin his future plans, so he takes of the clothes to show them that he is unarmed and ready to surrender. Makes sense to me, and definitely nice to watch...

For some reason I just thought I remembered more to that scene, but I may be getting it confused with another movie. I watch so many, that sometimes happens. I haven't actually watched the commentary yet. I have the DVD in now, so I may check it out. I kind of thought that was why he undressed. A naked man is unarmed (well, naked Gerry isn't completely w/o a weapon He could shoot me any day. Sorry, I digress). I don't want to disclose too much for anyone that may have not seen this yet, but there was an element to the ending that I found myself picking apart having to do with what Nick did and the destruction it caused. I don't think that would have been acceptable w/o recourse for a couple of reasons. Just a thought.

LAC won honors of the top rental, DVD and Blueray sales this weekend! That makes three in a row for G having films released on video and debuting at number 1!!! The Ugly Truth, GAMER - yes, even GAMER and now LAC. Gerry certainly has star power and as they said on the radio this morning; a diverse fan base because he can do anything on film! On my way to the airport this morning, I caught a radio show discussing LAC and they all seemed to enjoy it. One guy said it was now his favorite movie after 300 and he realized that Gerard Butler was the star of both, but both parts were so completely different. He said he has a mancrush on The Butler and the token girl said, well, join the club...doesn't EVERYONE have a crush on Mr. Butler

He said he has a mancrush on The Butler and the token girl said, well, join the club...doesn't EVERYONE have a crush on Mr. Butler So right on Princetongal I know myself that I never connected the guy in Lucy Sullivan with the guy in Dear Frankie with the guy in Beowulf with the guy in 300 until long after the movies were out and I am usually pretty up on who is who in the movie business. And then when I first saw PS I Love You, I'm like that the guy from Beowulf? So no matter what people say he has established himself as versatile and the success of The Ugly Truth was a romcom was because men like Gerry as an actor and they liked the character of Mike so it was not your typical romcom, all sappy and sweet, though that is why I love PS I Love You, I consider that movie a few steps above your average romcom, esp because the level of talent in the movie. And it is amazing how many men admit to having a mancrush on Gerard, usually they explain they are fully heterosexual though I am sure a number of gay men are crushing on him too so there you go, you got all the demographics groups in your fanbase. Except maybe lesbians not sure how he tests in that market. LOL. Since they are putting exclusive extras on Blueray I am tempted to get a Blueray, I got points saved up that could get me a Blueray player for free.

In the Blu-ray version F Gary Gray mainly allows a lot of scenes to run longer then in the theatrical version. That’s the primary difference between both versions, editing. For an example the first meeting between Clyde and Nick when Nick tells Clyde they are taking a plea bargain rather then going to trial is a bit longer, it has a stronger impact because you can really see how emotionally devastated Clyde is and Gerry is wonderful. You get a stronger sense this is the only thing keeping Clyde going, the thought of justice for his wife and daughter. I understand why it was was edited the way it was for the movie release but I liked the Blu-ray version better. There are a few scenes we haven’t seen before; apparently Clyde left a memento in Nick’s home and a nice moment between Jonas and Nick. There are more close ups of all the actors. And the torture scene is more explicit. But I thought it looked a bit fake and can see why it was left on the cutting room floor. Edited to add: here's the article about LAC taking top spot: www.your-story.org/anchor-bays-box-office-hit-law-abiding-citizen-captures-top-spots-on-video-charts-119760/
