Don't worry, it's a good one. Most Enterprising Use of a Cell Phone: Law Abiding Citizen While other movies strive to diminish the cell phone's narrative impact, concocting convenient reasons for characters' handsets to lose reception or run out of juice at crucial moments (the average battery life of a horror flick cell phone, for example, is less than five minutes), Law Abiding Citizen turned it into a potent plot device. Watch as Gerard Butler's vigilante tort reformer makes an powerful statement against judicial activism (Clip NSFW): Never saw it coming. www.nypost.com/entertainment/movies/news/n26662.htm

Just watched LAC and...OMG...did anyone expected this ? The end came so suddenly, leaving me with a bitter feeling and certainly the story didn't had a catharsis at all.... What was the point of all these things ? Did the system changed ? At the very last scene, when Nick and his wife were watching their daughter's music performance i couldn't think but Clyde's less fortunate family...What about you ? That is exactly how I felt SaSS. Then my common sence kicked in and saw illogical flaws

Damn. I wanted the Unrated Director's cut, too... I might just buy a copy because I plan on buying a BluRay Player when I move out of my parents; they still play regular DVD's, but it seems you get more with BR. Gerry doesn't do any of the commentaries; I was hoping since he was the lead in Gamer that he would have done that one, but I am also sad that he isn't commenting on this one... will be worth listening to, though, you get a lot of backstory when you listen to these.

I just discovered that my hubby's laptop has bly-ray, so I might just get that one. I love the commentaries too. Some are better than others though.

I enjoy the one's with the actors and the directors best, which is why I would have liked to see both Gerry and Jamie commenting on this one... that would have been awesome.

An article from Variety discusses overlooked performances in award season and Gerry gets special mention: www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=awardcentral&jump=news&articleid=VR1118014418&cs=1&ref=sspEqually remarkable is Gerard Butler in "Law Abiding Citizen" as he evolves from Mr. Nice Guy to smarter-than-anyone revenge killer, targeting his family's murderers and the overly lenient justice system. You've seen this plot before, but Butler is totally original. His character is so multidimensional that the audience is simultaneously horrified and rooting for him. It's another facet from the actor after his work in romantic comedies, musicals, small-scale dramas and actioners like "300" (which, come to think of it, was another terrific film ignored in awards-land).

Did they already announce the nominees for the Oscars? If they did, I missed it. Is there any buzz about Gerry for L.A.C. ?

Awesome article. Haven't heard anything about the Oscar nominations; I am crossing his fingers for him, he did an amazing job with this role. I do have a feeling that Sanda Bullock will get a nod for "The Blind Side" and well-deserved too.

No buzz at all I'm afraid. He won't get a nod for LAC if the nominations for the Golden Globes and SAG award are any indication. Which is why he was noted in this article about overlooked performances.
But I am hoping for an appearance at the Oscars as a presenter!
