I won't ever watch internet downloads of a movie. First of all it's illegal and morally I would never do it. Plus the films lose royalities when it's copied from the movie theater and downloaded to the internet. yes, i think you're right about the downloading scalpers. lots of fungal infections plaguing your computer & extremely poor quality PLUS frequent interuptions. its not worth it. besides, once a film is properly released for home entertainment, the quality and cost far exceeds illegal streaming. once and only once i discovered an illegal download.

absolutely! THIS would be a first! a bunch of fans actually writing a movie scripted for their very own favorite acter....you know darlings....stranger things have happened. remember that documentary directos kevin macdonald and ridley scott put together july 2010 where they collected videos from around the world and put together a film? that was an AWESOME fete!....okay. i'll take the plunge and start a thread called 'script' under the 'fan fict' section. put our minds together and lets write a story we'd want to see gerry in. lets go. here we go.... That's sounds like fun but let me warn you about something. When I was in Shreveport, right after I greeted Gerry he asked me to sit down and I said: "I brought my scrapbook and I hope you don't mind signing it." He literally gasped, "WHAT?!" I repeated what I just said and he audibly let out a breath he was holding and said, "I thought you said script! I was like, NOOOOOOO!!!! really? oh shoot. i thought it might be a fun collaboration for the members here to join together and write something. actually....((cluck cluck)) i would NEVER in a MILLION YEARS have the balls to present this as a bona fide work for gerry to review and consider. oh MY GOD NO! i cant even get my documentary film about him & his fans off the bloody ground pfst! no, no, no....there are braver folks than i, gungha din. let us just keep this between us and the four walls. have some fun, get our best fantasy ideas out for the gerster....i for one would LOVE to see him in a super heady sci-fy thriller....like a 'fantastic voyage' romp...or remake. wait, speaking of romp....that would be nice too....a sexy romp with the gerster in a celtic romance... hmmmmm. the wheels are turning.......oil the excalibur nimble writing fingers.....

I guess Gerry must have been approached by some fans or hounded by a lot of amateur script writers. He's such a nice guy , so he must hate to be put in a situation like that , especially if the script was from some a fan.

Sorry I mean Internet downloads coming from companies like netflix in the US which I thought were legal and a new digital way of accessing movie content. I have even seen adverts in the UK for this company and there must be others entering the new digital era. Sorry for the misunderstanding Netflix only gets the movies on demand and renting AFTER they have come out on DVD.

Producing, then directing!! He says more action films but he is now saying he was in too much pain to do a baseball movie.
From something else I posted.
Isn't he producing a movie without Alan and he's not acting in it? I think he is trying to move on to producing. He has to look stable and bankable. Actors get a lot of leeway but producers and directors have to be stable.
I think they knew these would fail but he was making connections and Hollyweird doesn't mind failures, E pointed out that Lindsey Lohan is a mess and she STILL got Liz and Dick. All the bad stuff that went on during filming was hushed because they didn't want it to affect the film, so they LIED about how she was doing. I do believe she got Liz and Dick AFTER agreeing to film a near porno w/ a real pornstar.
I do not think these failures mean to Hollyweird what they mean to us. If he wants to produce etc., He can name the movies he produced, whether he did anything or not. Whether they were successful or not, they still got made.

That's the way many producers lose great opportunities .You know is part of the job, to find diamonds have to sweat, and is not ot easy to find great scripts without read a lot of rubbish. Easy come easy go...

The Words-that's kind of movie I'd like to see him in.I was amazed about every single detail in that movie.A storyline and music were outstanding,Jeremy Irons is my kind of actor in all his movies. I liked it all...except Bradley Cooper That's my point-how is possible for him to get such a great role in this beautiful movie and GB doesn't! Girls,if you have time watch this movie, you'll enjoy it

Gerry needs to find a good franchise. I think his biggest career mistake is to have not been in one. Every actor with a lasting career has done a franchise and most of them were saved by them. I do not think Hugh Jackman would be where he is at without Wolverine, nor would Matt Damon be where he is without Bourne and the Oceans movies... Or where would Tom Cruise be without the Mission Impossible franchise... Not to mention the Depps and RdJ's and almost every other a-lister with a lasting career, they ALL were in successful franchises. I know Gerry was afraid of being type cast as a particular character but if you pick the franchise smartly you can do plenty of other movies in between but when you need a success you can fall back into your successful franchise and get your name back out there. I mean Jackman still has his XMen stuff to fall back on, yet he is Jean Valjean right now and already gets Oscar buzz... (I wish Gerry would have gotten that for POTO....sigh...)

Looks like the Dragon movies are going to be a franchise, and he won't have to lose weight or get ripped to do them. HTTYD was on FX all day today. I was too busy to watch it, but it was nice to listen to his voice while I worked. Really liked the Christmas special, too; I think he was in that more than in the movie. Anyone know anything about the plot for HTTYD2? Whatever it is, I'll be seeing it, maybe I'm heading for my second childhood, but I like a good children's movie.

I think a franchise would be good for him. The Jack Reached movie should have been him don't know if it was offered him but he fit the character & people protested TC but I hear he did a good job. He first needs a new team. New everybody -- at least agent & PR. He needs far better scripts & not tossing away commercial ones & look hard for a gem like 300 & move foward. NO MORE ROM-COMS. I know he can be a major force in acting but the crap that has been happening has to stop -- get the users off of him, get a new team & really good scripts. I hope the initial word on OHF continues that the movie is tense & even more great stuff. HE needs a Hit -- no more crap PR like we have experienced with the hanger-ons.

Ok, he needs a non - animated franchise. HTTYD is great but doesn't really show off his acting talents. He would have been great as Reacher...

'DE PROFUNDIS' [/b] oscar wilde wrote a book entitled 'de profundis' while he was imprisoned. he probably gleaned the title from the old testament psalm and (latin) vespers meaning 'out from the depths.....' i just actually 'read' this entire thread and i must say i do not adhere to the opinion of kiss, but will agree to disagree. everyone has an opinion....a purpose, a motive. who is to really judge? .....the world, this world, our lovely, crazy, unstable, changeable world filled with changeable people, has alwasy tended to be negative. i prefer to shower this board with positivity and a 'form' of love. 'negative' is only one side of truth. right? you step a fraction over and you are in the light. step another fraction over and you are now in the dark. both light and dark meet at one point. consider the yin-yang symbol. so, with this said, we have the privilege of paying attention to a persons life outside of our own sphere of reality. we are like distant relatives, feigning affection ....but, only to be pleased by entertainment? of course, its not to say any one of us, if not given the chance would infact, be a 'true' friend to gerry. but, thats not what this is. we are outsiders looking in...our greater culture has poised 'celebrity', 'stars' (athletes, muscians/singers)...as our new mythic heros...godlike in many ways. scarey. 'uneasy lies the head that wears the crown'. its a tough place to be. confusing, temporal, scathingly critical, lonely....a high price is always paid. more than 'we' will ever know. our entertainment is a reflection of who we are....'art imitates life'.....this is not rocket science, body politic or a religious center...it is meant to inspire & motivate, give reprieve from the rigors of daily life....give joy....teach a moral....speak to our humanity....entertain us..... a recent interview, it noted gerry was seeking higher ground....deepening his spiritual quest for 2013....yes gerry! 'de profundis....out of suffering comes to true revelation of mercy, faith, hope, redemption......many, many women fans of faith have converged here....interesting, huh.....
