Wow!! That's pretty bad with them listing PFK as the 7th biggest bomb of 2012, when it's only been out for less than 2 weeks!!!! How do they know what % of the budget it has made? Grrrrrrr That is soooo frustrating and disheartening for all of us, but especially Gerry!! I hope he will get offered some good scripts soon and that 2013 will be a better year!!! Kneum

EVERY BODY is a fucking critic. and, besides...who says a 'fan' can't be a viable producer, writer, director. let us NOT forget these folks started out...as a fan. right?! right. so, what is next for gerard butler?.....G'rard Butler.... thats who!

I think the problem with CM is not that it wasn't promoted...it was, but the weekend it came out. There were too many other big movies out that weekend and attendance was very poor. When I went there were about 20 in the theater but they pulled it after 2 weeks as the movie goers weren't there. I thought it was a great movie and I actually liked Gerry's acting better in it than PFK. Will it be playing in the UK and other countries? I also don't think that he's had 4 bombs in a row...the producers/distributors dropped the ball with MGP and chose instead to promote another movie. Gerry's acting in that was the best I've seen in a long time. Coriolanus played in limited distribution, fortunately I had gotten to see it. Gerry was awesome doing Shakespeare with a fabulous cast. He has showed what a wide range he has. Just because a movie doesn't do big box office doesn't mean it bombed. Some director or producer somewhere will see these movies and think that Gerry has the chops to make their movie. Critics do recognize that Gerry is a great actor, he just has to find the right movie to showcase his talent.

People basically label it as a surfer movie, so they should have released it in the Summer. I think it would have had a much bigger audience.

CM wasn't promoted in my neck of the woods. Not a single TV ad other than the original one in the middle of the night on MTV. Maybe it was promoted closer to the coast, but the middle of the US goes to the movies too... Nobody here even knew about the movie other than a devoted Gerry fan....

I agree I don't feel MGP, Coriolanus were bombs. Also I had said before surfing movie belongs in summer despite the Mavericks season opening in November & again release timing sucked & including Sandy. I think PFK will have a bigger audience in Europe so you cant bomb it yet. I think critics should not critique movies until they see them X2. I think it sucks doing reviews without seeing movie unprofessional. Its unacceptable.

Sam Worthington has a surfer movie coming out soon. We'll see how that one does.
I think CM and PFK were promoted wrong. They tried to promote CM. I think their focus was wrong.
PFK was promoted extensively on tv, radio and the internet. The release date of this didn't help. Now we have a dozen movies coming out this week which will push PFK out of the theaters unless they have a lot of screens and can hold on to it.
Putting PFK on that list is just wrong. They don't know the end result. I suppose it's about opening weekend numbers.
We should write a script for Gerry. We'd probably write a hit for him!

You know , i actually think that we ladies could write a much better script then most scriptwriters in Hollyweird. Maybe we could add a lot of nude scenes.

THIS would be a first! a bunch of fans actually writing a movie scripted for their very own favorite acter....you know darlings....stranger things have happened. remember that documentary directos kevin macdonald and ridley scott put together july 2010 where they collected videos from around the world and put together a film? that was an AWESOME fete!....okay. i'll take the plunge and start a thread called 'script' under the 'fan fict' section. put our minds together and lets write a story we'd want to see gerry in. lets go. here we go....

That's sounds like fun but let me warn you about something. When I was in Shreveport, right after I greeted Gerry he asked me to sit down and I said: "I brought my scrapbook and I hope you don't mind signing it." He literally gasped, "WHAT?!" I repeated what I just said and he audibly let out a breath he was holding and said, "I thought you said script! I was like, NOOOOOOO!!!!

I wonder if the DVD sales and internet downloads of his movies are actually quite healthy.
It is a rare thing for me to sit in a full cinema these days.

I won't ever watch internet downloads of a movie. First of all it's illegal and morally I would never do it. Plus the films lose royalities when it's copied from the movie theater and downloaded to the internet.

On a different note I just noticed your new siggie, I like it, but with that evil little smile of his I think he's day dreaming about a little more then a white Christmas!

Besides being illegal and immoral to watch internet downloads of a movie, I read - from people who learned the hard way - that those sites dump lots of viruses into your computer.

Sorry I mean Internet downloads coming from companies like netflix in the US which I thought were legal and a new digital way of accessing movie content. I have even seen adverts in the UK for this company and there must be others entering the new digital era.
Sorry for the misunderstanding
