This is a thread to discuss movies you'd like to see Gerry do, either projects in development that his name has not been attached to yet, or books you'd like to see made into a movie as well as what co-stars, other actors and actresses you would like to see Gerry working with.
Outside of the couple threads already out there for Outlander and few other possibilities.

this is terrific idea! jumping right in....
drama, drama, drama....raw, plain, simple, stark, intense dialogue....just the man, costar, lens..... no romantic comedies, no action, no fanta-thriller, nothing but old time drama... tennessee williams
personally, i'd like to see gerry in remake of 'whose afraid of virginia wolfe', or another classic 'street car named desire, or how about 'sunset blvd' ...oh, better yet....'clash by night', YES!

Does it count if I haven't finished the script yet? I'm working on a sci-fi drama about a guy who is, in reality, in a coma but in his mind he's visiting different points in history in search of his wife. At each 'stop' he finds out something about himself and his relationship with his family. I should 'accidentally' leave what I have so far where he'll find it. lol. Or if he was set on another rom com, I'm also working on one of those which calls for a sleazy rock star as one of the leads! I have to think on this some. Hmmm. So many good ideas for movies, so many choices...

That sounds interesting Fiera, I love Scify. Let us know how the scrip progresses.
On a different note I really wanted to see Gerry do the remake of Predator. I was bummed when I saw it didn't go to him... I just don't think that Adrian Brody is bad ass enough to carry off the role. I think that Hollywood needs another actor to fill in the void that Arnold Schwarzenegger left and Gerry is that guy. I mean, I would love to see Gerry in other things beside bad ass movies but Gerry does make a sexy tough guy!
I would also like to see Gerry in period pieces. He'd make a great medieval King or Knight... put him in on a horse, with a sword and without a shirt and I'd be transfixed on the movie screen.

The sleazy rock star, Russell Brand has that sown up don't he? Hee hee.
I really like your script idea. I have always been fascinated with the concepts of time travel, the future, the subconscious mind and parallel universes since I was very young. Maybe because one of the first TV series I remember watching was called Time Machine. And of course loved Star Trek, Didn't we all? When done it makes for a great movie. I like that movie Lake House with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. I love Memento with Guy Pierce, a man who has lost his short term memory.
I loved Gerry in RocknRolla so I really hope Guy can pull off at least one more movie with the Wild Bunch with Gerry reprising One Two= and I like that kind of persona. The word is it is supposed to be a Trilogy but after the first did not do well in North America, maybe just because the studio did not support it I do not understand why and sooooo many people don't understand why - my only guess would be the gay story line, but I thought Hollywood had grown past that.........
But I could see Gerry in some clever gangster movie not just a Guy Ritchie, it would be cool to see a Scottish version of the British gangster movie, but it has to be clever. I can't see Gerry in a quintessential Merchant and Ivory type movie. Maybe make it Scottish and rougher.
Another idea I've had in my head would be a period piece that only Gerry could pull off. In Ireland they have this concept of the bachelor farmer. Historically or so they claim, the oldest male in the family would put off getting married because they had to wait until their parents died or at least the father would before they could take over the family farm which is just a sad concept when you think about it,something about the farms were too small to support two families and these would normally be large families, I see Gerry's character as the painfully shy and awkward only child, no siblings, who is set in his ways, devoted his whole life to the farm and his parents, who then has to cope with the death of his parents in some awful tragic way and being pressured to now find a wife and start a family. They have this matching making festival every September still - it takes place in a village in Western Ireland called Lisdoonvarna, they claim matchmaking still goes on, more like an excuse to party and a tourism attraction, but it used to be true matchingmaking they would bring in women from other parts of the country to be wives for these men who were now often in their 40s. You could go a lot of directions with that. I'd love to see if an Irish writer has written a novel because surely this has occurred to one of them to be a great story vehicle or there may even be some good actual stories.

I'm with you, Dianne. I would love to see him in some sort of medieval role -- horses, swords, unrequited love. *sigh*

I would love to see Gerry do drama again....I'm thinking One More Kiss or something of the likes.
And yes, Dianne! Can we please, please, pretty please see Gerry on a horse again...That first scene from Attila where he's riding that horse over the hills is just awesome and soooo sexy!!!

I know Romeo and Juliet were "young lovers", but some type of period movie like that would really good...anything that would allow his natural Scots accent would be great

Totally agree with Dianne about the Knight thing...would be awesome! He certainly knows his way around a sword. (no pun intended, lol). And I hope the two RockNRolla sequels end up coming together...so loved that movie! Gerry is great at doing comedy! I'd also like him to do a period horror movie or thriller...something like From Hell or Sherlock Holmes with werewolves thrown in, as long it wasn't too cheesy. And I could totally see Gerry playing a Superhero, like Batman or something along those lines. We were sooo close in getting this in Watchmen but unfortunately it never eventuated. I also wouldn't mind Gerry venturing onto the small screen to appear in my fave TV show Supernatural, especially if it was an episode also featuring JDM....they could play brothers or something. Imagine the fun those two would have on set being reunited again. And finally...a western. If we can't get Gerry on Supernatural, then we'll bring the two Texan boys to him. Ahh Gerry, Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki altogether in a western....now that is something I'd pay to see more than once & I'm sure there are many more ladies who'd agree with me.

If we are going to venture into TV, hmmmm, I don't see Gerry doing TV for a very long time, not in the career trajectory but in our wildest dreams but even in my wildest dreams I could only see a couple episode stint at best .
How about a couple episode stint on Entourage, even as himself they do that on Entourage, Vinnie is cast in a movie with Gerry and maybe they don't get along for a variety of reasons, oh the possibilities are endless, now Mad Men would be too good to be true, some character who swoops in and make life difficult for Don Draper aka Jon Hamm, maybe someone who knows one of his many secrets or ooh Dexter, maybe as one of Dexter's targets, a villain Dexter needs to take out. Be ironic after the scene in LAC. A stint on Spartacus Blood and Sand would be too good to be true, John Hannah just uses his Scottish accent, never mind doing a Roman accent whatever that is anyway. My No. 1 favourite new show on TV now. So many half naked men so little time. Togas oh yeah.
Actually I am looking very forward to the new show called The Boardwalk Empire produced by the guy who did Sopranos and Martin Scorcese, starring Steven Buscemi, about Atlantic City during prohibition, that show looks like it is going to be good. I see G on that show, again a character with just a few episode story line, spice up the show.

Never say never....a lot of big screen actors have returned to TV recently so you just never know. Remember there was something recently about Gerry replacing McDreamy on Grey's...can't see it myself, but I sure hope not, don't like that show at all. Only watched the eps that JDM was guesting in & even that was really painful. lol BUT...if that's where Gerry ended up, then of course I'd follow regardless ...will just have to make sure I have plenty of stemetil on hand to help the nausea

Oh no kidding there are a number of good movie actors who are leading up series, like Thomas Jane in Hung, Hugh Laurie in House, Tim Roth in Lie to Me, Jeff Goldblum is now doing Law and Order Criminal Intent, but these are actors that were not quite getting the kind of roles they probably deserved to get and used to and and now there is not the stigma to doing TV anymore, so work is work. James Gandolfini went from movies to TV back to movies. Certain actors will do one offs like Gary Oldman did a hilarious episode of Friends, Gerry already did SNL, and a lot of bigger name actors will do a few episodes on better cable shows like Entourage heck James Cameron has been on Entourage a few times. Mark Wahlberg who is exec producer even pops onto Entourage from time to time. The Jury was an example of fine British TV. James Nesbit, who is also in Corionalus, did a brilliant series called Jekyl and you know love to see Gerry doing a good Brit TV series like that. It wasn't as long as your average US series, definitely less than 13 I believe.
