I believe that's right about the photographer adding things to give the pictures ambiance, the wine bottle and the other weirdly placed items... still not getting the sneakers in front of the fridge. Those sneakers are puzzling. I'm thinking they may be there for the eye spacial orientation. They break up the vertical lines of that massive stainless fridge. Give your eye a que to stop.

By the way the things you find out of place was likely placed by a stager. People that come in before an open house and give the place a special touch. In big cities it is a whole industry. Stagers are used more by real estate agents for an open house or prepping a home for potential buyers to walk through. A lot of them are also trained in feng shui. Architectural Digest would use a photo stylist, which is similar, but with an eye more for the 2 dimensional experience over the experience of actually standing in the space. Stylists usually have a specialty, such as product work, interior work (like this), or even styling for food magazines. I've done styling for catalogs and model print work, and it's one of my favorite things to do. The last thing a stylist would be thinking about would be GB's teetotalism... they would be more concerned with trying to make the space look warm, cozy and inviting. Thus the candlelight and wine. I only glanced quickly at the kitchen photo with the shoes, but my guess would be that something odd was going on that was causing the space to look less dimensional-- perhaps the floor was blending into the wall and making the room look smaller than it actually was, or the photographer just wanted to lead your eye back there. Who knows? An old pair of Chuck Taylor's would be the last thing I would have used there. (I would have said, "Where's that cute puppy??") You can be certain that it wasn't an accident, however, and if we're talking about it here, they probably discussed it for two hours during the shoot.

I loved the first few pics, but then the open concept one made his place look a little too open - someone referred to a 'furniture shop' on the comments on the article - afraid to say I agree a bit with that. Love the plants and amazing windows - just not looking very cozy all of a sudden - I like big overstuffed couches and ottomans, not so much antique looking couches and wooden leg ottomans.....but then again, I would agree with another comment made that I would share a hovel with this man!! Was trying to find something on e or et from last night.....found this instead - too cute! www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOFbqKDEEIw

That is pretty much a given. This loft is 3500 sq ft twice the size of my house with soaring 16-18ft ceilings. BTW just came from the cardiologist they have a subsription to AD and there on the coffee table was Gerry's smiling face. I called B&N They are holding me a copy.

If I were that girl I would be having a heart attack, but you know what, could you imagine if it was someone like weird Mickey Rourke or flakey Gary Busey, they'd be slapped with sexual harassment! Gerry with those chameleon eyes, sexy Scottish Bur, and crooked smile can get away with it. I bet if he was to stick two fingers up her ass crack she would titter and give him a playful slap.... Now that's charisma!

www.celebitchy.com/96390/gerard_butler_shows_off_his_pretty_pink_furniture_in_architectural_digest/Kaiser from Celebitchy is HI LAR ious Stripper Drinking Glasses? open space is what loft living is all about - the groovy lofts have the open bedroom upstairs overlooking the living room or they did in the movies.... very Bachelor living. as a woman that kitchen is too small not enough counter space LOL and I hardly cook LOL - you know the fruit was just for effect - like Gerry does groceries and would be in NYC long enough to eat all that fruit before it spoiled the best things about lofts and hardwood floors - party pairfect environment - you can dance your bootie off, alone or with many many friends, do some Risky Business slides in your underwear [optional].....groovy baby.

Is this mag still on shelves? Yes they are but I missed out on Men's Journal They still had W but I'm not into that shoot at all. However if he wants to come and handcuff me in that uniform I'll not complain. Never really been into role play but I'm not to old to learn. Teach me baby!

No one else could get away with what Gerry gets away with. He just looks so adorable and then he giggles... a woman could be a cold-hearted bitch and if he turned that smile and charm on her, she would melt and would be putty in his (very) capable and large hands. I am so excited!! I just got my copy today and am still drooling over that cover pic. His loft is amazing and so stylish. I could see myself living here.

Crappy thing is I doubt it'll be at WalMart or Walgreens or the local grocery...meaning I'll have make the haul out to the book store aka BAM!
Joy- Would you like a copy of Men's Journal? My local grocery just put them on the shelf. I can check tomorrow if you message me before I go out for the day.

Morgaine, I work at Walmart in my hometown and got mine on Thursday... they always stock new mags on Thursday even though ET said it wouldn't be out until the 6th. That being said, the Walmart in the next town over didn't have that mag at all; I was shocked at first, but then noticed that their book and magazine section was smaller than ours. Go figure. They're a newer store and all that, but in some ways lacking and in other ways they are better than our Walmart.

Well I'm about to head out in hopes I don't have to hit up the big bookstore. If I have to hit up the big book store of Books A Million, then it'll wait. LOL!
