Does anyone ever watch a Gerry movie you have seen before, but suddenly find yourselves getting emotionally blown away over a particular scene out of the blue? Dear Frankie is probably my favourite G film, (along with Phantom, 300, and MGP!!) and I just happened to be watching it tonight because it was on UK TV. Then it got to the scene where The Stranger first meets Frankie. I have always thought that was a powerful scene, but watching it tonight I guess it hit me how hard it must have been for G to do that scene with all the comparisons with his own life. What an amazing little movie and an incredible perfomance from Gerry. I just wish everyone could see this film and appreciate it and G's performance in it. Hope this makes sense 'cos I can barely see for blubbing!

I have always wondered how hard it must have been to act in the Jury and the short movie Please.
Both difficult projects.
Also always wondered if he agreed with Johnnie's verdict.

I really loved this movie... i can watch it over and over again and see something different each time... and being a sucker for happy endings, i would of loved seeing them together in the end... i think they both deserved that happiness... now we're just left wondering... but that's just me... brenn

But I have to say the one I'm waiting to see, which I think will bring out different emotions in Gerry is PTF. There is one picture that haunts me where he is with his "son" and that far off look on his face reminds me of someone who is think of what could have been or should have been but wasn't.

I love Dear Frankie, I have seen in many times. I cry every time. I keep wishing it have the Stranger come back and be with Mom and raise Frankie. With her friend being his sister, I just wish. They should have done a sequel with that. Oh well maybe it's better the way it is. I love his early movies too - OMK, Jury, Please. He was so wonderful. I wish he would do one like that but it will probably get labeled rom.com again and he would get bad box office. I really want to see him in another dramatic role, I hope he finds one. I like to see him do something like David Niven did, that would be super - debonair thief

I recorded Dear Frankie so I can watch it over and over. I have bought almost all his DVD's and I do watch them over and over. I use to be a news junkie, but it is so depressing. I hate most of what is on TV so I would rather pop one of GB's movies and forget the world. I love Dear Frankie and I don't think it was a HW movie. I thought it was maid in Scotland. In an interview he said it was made for almost no $$$ and when shown at Canne it got a 10min standing ovation and blew him away. Great movie and one of his best. I especially love watching his face when the Mom is telling how her Son became deaf. The emotion is beautiful. That's why he is so great. I think he really feels unjustice.

This is still one of my favorite films. Laughed, cried - and just loved it. Did a 'Dear Frankie' tour a few years back - and it was lovely to go the the filming locations. This is one film I kinda wish there was a sequel to!
