That was the actress Helen MCrory who is married to Damian Lewis. I understood you were talking about Noel Gallagher. My comment on NG stands and I still think although the dog was adorable I thought the actuall skit was odd to say the least.

I would've actually expected Noel Gallagher to be less nice than he was. As someone else said, notorious jerk. I mean, c'mon, the man's comments about meeting the King at his hotel and some sort of snark about grass skirts and drums...i actually winced at those. martin freeman's a very interesting Dr. Watson, although i'm still not sure i'm in love with this newest sherlock holmes series. gerry seemed to do well though, even if he recycled a lot of his "stories" and i'll add a big thank-you to terez for sharing her experience with us, that's very sweet of you!

You know I don't pretend to know what goes on behind the scenes at talk shows, however, I used to watch The Larry Sanders Show... I believe it was on HBO and it was a comedy about a man who host a talk show like The Tonight Show.
But I have no reason not to think the basic stuff they showed back stage before the show begins does not base itself in fact.
Before the show, the host greets all the guests and his conversation with Gerry is pretty much...here's what we are going to do...blah , blah, blah.... we are going to discuss this, that, and the other thing... I need a funny story from you... do you have one? Gerry would kind of describe his kilt story. Graham would then have to figure out how to fit that into what they are going to talk about. Talk shows are not hard news and pretty much fluff. Gerry knows the basic outline of what was going to happen on the show... he wasn't surprised. Believe me there are some prima donnas in Hollywood... If the stars didn't know what was going to happen on a certain show you would have way more stars storming out of interviews.

yeah, i've been told/heard that all of the talk shows are more or less scripted, with stories and questions being worked out ahead of time. probably why i find so many of them so boring... i like graham though, he gives his guests a little bit of a hard time (like teasing gerry about his "trauma") but you can tell he's not trying to be mean or make them feel bad really. cheeky, as it were i still love the interview gerry did with bonnie hunt that i saw on youtube. IMO, one of his better slightly older ones, and they seemed a little more casual/at ease with each other than say the leno or letterman appearances tend to be.

You See Graham's Irish and we Irish have a sense of humor in any situation. Graham was just helping Gerry laugh through the pain. If you can't have a wee chuckle in life how dull will things do. And Gerry seemed to take things in good humour. I liked the banter between him and Noel. And that lil miss in the middle seemed to be quite taken with Gerry. Did you she her blush when he talked about his kilt?

I have a question for Terez: In your first post on the show this line caught my attention: "The hair is still long but the beard was under control. He said he is still not done with Mavericks so I guess those who love the current hair will enjoy them for a while longer. Those of us who prefer him with shorter hair, hope is not lost, we just have to wait for his current filming to end."
I just got a chance to view all of the shows videos and my DVR of the U.S.program and I was wondering did Gerry discuss his hair length during the taping and say he was going to cut his hair shorter after he finishes filming? I did not hear him say anything about it on the show. Thanks shellie P.S. Thanks for your great posts on the show it was lovely of you to share with us!

But he did say at one point that he is not done with Mavericks and has to go back to finish. So I made the assumption that he cannot get a haircut until he finishes the film, even if he wants to. Then we know that he will start filming Thunder Run and I assume (hope) that he will need shorter hair for that because he will be playing a soldier.

Thanks for the explanation, I am also waiting for a short hair Gerry showing up for Thunder Run. I have admit that I finally have gotten use to his curls, but I still prefer Gerry with shorter hair. shellie

I know the day will come he's going to cut those beautiful curls... sigh. I just hope he won't go bald like Matthew McC did.....

I agree I do not want to see him go bald like Matthew McC did, but The Stranger or Terry Sheridan look would be good. Sam Worthington talks about Thunder Run in this interview 1/6/12 and he says he will be filming later this year? Quote: Worthington: I’m doing a thing called Thunder Run later on in the year, which if it works it’s very ambitious. It’s based on an actual case where 300 tanks went into Baghdad. You can’t do that for real, it costs way too much money and setup time to reset 300 tanks. How we’re doing it is a bit like a cross between Avatar and Tron, a mo-cap kind of world, which is interesting. They’ve shown me some designs and they’ve shown me their little practice on it, but if they pull it off it’s certainly gonna be a different type of film.
collider.com/sam-worthington-wrath-of-the-titans-thunder-run-interview/135771/Sounds like it is going to be another "300" with a long production schedule because of the CGI. I wonder when Gerry will be filming. Maybe Matthew McC is sporting that bald head for another film? Let's hope LOL

Yes, the Stranger or Sheridan probably is going to be his look for Thunder Run. I have to shamefully admit that's my least favorite look of Gerry. I like his hair long and curly like now or a bit shorter like in MGP, TUT or Coriolanus or PSILY, but the ultra short hair isn't my thing. I like something grabable But of course I still wouldn't kick Gerry out of bed for eating crackers not even if he'd be bald. Though that would be a look I'd really would have to get used to... If the pic of Sam in the collider interview is current, well, he is not bald. Phew. So maybe only Matthew's character is bald. Or Gerry and Sam will shoot much later. At one point I thought it's going to be more a purely CGI type movie and we have just the voices and not the actors but now I don't know so much anymore. I guess it'll be a mix of CGI and live action like the two movies mentioned in that article. Or as you suggested, Matthew is bald for another project.

Just watched the G.N show off the good old youtube it was too funny! I can't wait for the Hobbit movie, that guy looks like he'll be a perfect fit. The redhead is very pretty, and shes a good actress. the Dog was adorable!! And Gerry's interview was great as well. I really like the G.N show!

The actress is called Karen Gillen. Tony Curren (Gerry's mate from B&G) appeared in an episode of Dr Who with her called "Vincent and the DR" written by Richard Curtis's with Curran playing Van Gough. If it is available anywhere online I would advise you to watch it as it moved me to tears.

I watched the entire show. I must say the host is very likable & funny! It seemed like Gerry had a good time & he looked great. I loved how the fan in the audience knew more about his appearances than he!

I loved how the fan in the audience knew more about his appearances than he! gerry is something else again! and thinking further, those barbados shots (though i personally love ger w/a paunch and/or a little more 'meat' on his bones....equally as much as the muscley dude)..but, those shots weren't half as nasty as some of those rather sneaky 'foody' shots. no, i think those shots of gerry on the beach for some reason hit him below the belt... visceral...no pun intended. LOL....perhaps, because it (the camera op) came as a total and complete out of no where invasion of his privacy...SO unexpected for him?? maybe....it could also be that getting 'fat' is deeply disturbing to ger b/c he is in the business of 'image' and he has SO much more to do? just guessing...its all okay whatever....i believe gerry knows his talent, skill and capabilities transcend his 'looks'. i don't believe he'll succumb to the knife nor end up like leading man heart throb marlon brando...it just doesn't matter, really. film captures 'beauty' in the moment and keeps it forever....at that moment.
