I listened to Gerry's speach and was struck by 2 things: 1 He seemed more ill-at-ease than he usually is. Gerry usually has a very relaxed nature. 2 The comment about the 5 stages of a career was kinda sad to me. Gerry listed the stages and said that he felt that he had somehow skipped the middle stages and was already at the,"Get me a younger GB". Perhaps it is pressure in relation to this subject that has Gerry looking more serious/sad recently. I don't know about everybody in Hollywood but,I really liked his wrinkles that one can see them in the Coriolanus stills. Gerry's face does look a bit different now.

There was nothing sad about the Five Stages quote. It actually shows just how clued in he is to the workings of the industry and how attuned he is to the vagiaries of the business. I've heard the whole quote mentioned many times by other actors and I always think how spot on it is when considering how transient a career in show business can be.
As for being ill at ease, I didn't see that at all. I saw someone trying to find the words that a mainly foreign audience might understand. Neither did I see any facial changes ... he looks just as great as always - as is borne out by the latest photos from Zermatt.

I have to agree with Mimsie here. The Five Stages is something that is often quoted by actors, and is just an indication of how the business of acting progresses. As for how he looked at the Awards Ceremony...he did not look ill at ease at all. He seemed quite relaxed and was very appreciative of all the good introductions that he got. He seemed to be thoughful of what he said, so that the interpreter would not have trouble relaying what he was saying to the non-English speaking audience/guests. He was his usual beautiful, wonderful, witty self.
Peace Out.... Mareksgirl....

I have been reading this board for about two weeks now. I must say that you ladies rock! I enjoy all the love and positive comments and shout outs that are in honor of Gerry. It is so refreshing to read a message board where Gerry is being praised for his hard work and dedication to his craft and physical well being. I enjoy how everyone can give his or her opinion in love and adoration for Gerry, it is truly refreshing.

Wonderful pictures. He's looking fine. Whatever he is or isn't going through will pass - we all have those days, he's no different. I think the best is yet to come with Gerry....

from Luz - a late entry The black and white photo of Gerry deep in thought is breathtaking. Excuse me for stumbling in but when and where was this picture taken... Is it from a magazine or is it a candid Paps shot. Cause if it was a PAP shot it is breathtaking.

from Luz - a late entry The black and white photo of Gerry deep in thought is breathtaking. I think he's actually looking at/reading something on his iPad (look down in his lap...I noticed because I'm always looking down at his lap...teehee), but I agree...it's a lovely candid shot, ain't it?
