Shellie the original source was from Leggo, Cinecittà news repost it as many others here in Italy for that clarification, boy I hope some this casting information is just rumors. I am not a fan of Uma Thurman and I definitely think she would not be right to play Gerry's ex-wife in the film, one of the soccer mom's would be OK. But I do like Ethan Hawke so I am OK with that rumor. Please keep us up-to-date if you hear anything more, because I think the news might leak out early in Italy since the director is Italian. Once again to the site

I wish I wouldn't be 12 hours (by car) away... sigh.... I love watching them shoot a movie, even if it is not Gerry. It's just so fascinating. I just got back from lunch with friends downtown and we got lucky, we saw George Clooney, Ryan Gosling and Marisa Tomei shoot "Ides of March" right smack downtown Cincinnati. I really enjoyed watching even from a distance and even without Gerry. It's something that does not happen a lot in Cincinnati so they had quite an audience. Nope, didn't get to see them up close but thanks to my camera zoom I did see them fairly good. They were up shooting in a sky walk and we were watching from the street level. So much fun!!!

How neat, GA!!!! Did you get some pictures of it or is that allowed? Do you think you might try to come to Shreveport for Gerry's filming? I hope so because you are "experienced" at this sort of thing and we're not!! If you could come as far as Little Rock, we could take you the rest of the way!! Shreveport is about 4 hours from LR. I think it would be so much fun! Kneum

Security allowed us to take pics without flash (but at some shoots they will not allow it). Cincinnati folks are so excited to have the production here because it doesn't happen often. Maybe George will spread the word about having a great shoot here in Ohio.... I wish I could make it to Shreveport but I don't know. I have some unexpected personal stuff to deal with (with work, trying to get my greencard, that kind of stuff) which makes it impossible to plan anything right now till the very last minute. It all depends when and if it will be resolved. But you'll have fun. As long as you do what security tells you they don't usually mind people watching. They kind of expect it. It's normal to have a crowd. And let Gerry do the rest.

Our son is coming back from a year's tour in Afghanistan around that time, so we'll have to work around that, too!! (The Army's not good about giving definite dates!) Lots going on in April, but I really, really want to see the filming!! Hope we can make it work!! Kneum

It's confirmed, Jessica Biel will play the ex-wife (she'll be great...) and Uma Thurman will play one of the soccer moms.... www.variety.com/article/VR1118032694?refCatId=13Thurman, Biel to start 'Playing the Field' Thesps to co-star with Gerard Butler in soccer mom-com By Jeff Sneider Exclusive: Uma Thurman and Jessica Biel have signed on to join Gerard Butler in Nu Image/Millennium Films' soccer comedy "Playing the Field." Gabriele Muccino is directing from a script by Robbie Fox ("So I Married An Axe Murderer"). Butler stars as a former pro soccer player who finds himself dodging romantic advances from soccer moms after he agrees to coach his son's youth team in an attempt to bond with the boy. Biel will play Butler's ex-wife who is engaged to be re-married, while Thurman will play a fellow parent who sets out to seduce the coach. Butler is producing with his Evil Twins partner Alan Siegel, as well as Jonathan Mostow, Kevin Misher and Heidi Jo Markel. Nu Image/Millennium's Avi Lerner, Danny Dimbort and Trevor Short are exec producing the pic, which is scheduled to start production next month. Thurman next stars in Max Winkler's "Ceremony" and will soon be seen as Lois Lane in the comedy omnibus "Movie 43." Biel was recently cast in New Line's rom-com "New Year's Eve." Thesp has Pascal Laugier's thriller "The Tall Man" and David O. Russell's long-delayed comedy "Nailed" awaiting release. CAA reps both Thurman and Biel, who are also repped by Untitled Entertainment and Management 360, respectively.

Well, wow.
I do love Jessica Biel. I'm not upset by this casting, except Uma Thurman. Not a fan. But hey, if Gerry is thwarting her advances, I'm all for it. LOL
Yeah, not too bad ....

Um, not a fan of either actresses, but not offended by either...either.
My questions is this: How old is Biel and the son supposed to be in this flick? Thurman playing the ex seems to make better sense, IMHO.
Yes, I KNOW he's aging well, and "young" women have kids all of the time, but this grouping is going to have one helluva a backstory to establish...

I am not a fan of Uma either, but I could definitely see her as trying to seduce Gerry, be rejected and then be all huffy and b****y. I have not really seen any of Jessic's work, so I don't really know what to think of her being cast as the ex-wife. She's very pretty though, imo. Is she dating anyone? If not, I'm sure the dating rumors will start soon.

She can also play older. I don't think it'll be an issue. She's really hot ... I think Gerry will enjoy himself. LOL I have a feeling Justin Timberlake will feel VERRA threatened.
