I know this will be quite a perverse movie. Look forward to seeing it. I read that nobody is promoting the movie. I wonder if anyone will show up at première unless they bully them too. I imagine the Jackass guy will but anyone else. It will be interesting to see. I think the comedy actors like Johnny Knoxville & Seann William Scott might make an appearance. The IMDb page for Movie 43 has been up-dated and now lists the entire cast and their segments - check it out - www.imdb.com/title/tt1333125/ and www.imdb.com/title/tt1333125/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast - Gerry is really far down in the cast list now, he is no longer on the page 1. (I think that may be a good thing LOL.

I'm going to skip Movie 43, just not my cup of tea. Not even with GB and Hugh Jackman in it.

Well, I wasn't really sure if I would watch it but the following review I've read on imdb makes me at least curious. It sounds intriguing. (minor spoilers)
"Very smart modern comedy that may not look that way to unprepared audience, 17 January 2013
Author: Valentin K from Saint-Petersburg, Russia Movie 43 is really not your typical comedy.
It starts very aggressively immediately giving a shock to audience with some of the most insane scenes involving top Hollywood actors ever shown in cinemas (Hugh Jackman scene is the one I am talking about). All jokes here are Very aggressive and some sweet girls (or boys) would definitely find themselves unprepared and may even leave the cinema.
Movie 43 contains short unconnected stories (what we could derive from trailer), which use different typical social settings. Each story is filled with jokes that may appear to be "out of boundaries" or "too stupid/harsh" or something to someone who is willing to only look at them this way. However while you are laughing your a#$ off or thinking "omg did they really say that" (depending on how you choose to perceive this movie) it is important not to forget to be thinking about each story, and actual idea or message behind it.
Two things that are common about stories is that they cover some challenging but well known to anyone social topic and that they use a lot of dangerous jokes and 18+ words/scenes. I believe most important topic of movie 43 skit is approach to tolerance and some "real" principles of "good" and "bad", definitions which become more and more blurry as we move in 21 century. With the right words mass media can help its audience to view any problem from desired angle, essentially making black white and vice versa. Here we can see that there definitely has to be a limit to acceptable, allowed or reasonable behavior and some things actually are not acceptable, should not be allowed or tolerated. When you try to challenge someones view on those topics usual words may not be enough due to depth of someones beliefs, but artistic instruments from Movie 43 arsenal can actually deliver those messages in a very clear and straightforward manner.
All in all Movie 43 will definitely split audience. Some will say that they have never seen more stupid, "shit humor" comedy, while others will really enjoy the form and elegance and actual wit and depth of the movie.
It probably wouldn't work at all if those star actors weren't there, people would simply not watch it past couple of scenes.
I suggest people who go to watch Movie 43 to open their mind a little bit, prepare to be challenged at some of their core values and have some really good time. If you aren't ready to look for forest behind the trees you probably wouldn't enjoy it.
Its definitely an outstanding movie and there aren't many like it around so I really think it is a must see.

Interesting review now I want to watch it more. Early photos at première do not show Gerry there.

Gersararchitect. The review you posted raises an intriguing point. I watched the trailer and thought no way does that look a remotely funny movie. So does that mean that the trailer has miss sold the contents of the movie to the audience.
Couple of other points; it is being released here on the same day as Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty so where it places in the box office top ten is anybody's guess.
Also noticed Gerard attended the premier so he is happy to be associated with the movie even if the critics have a go at him. This makes his flying solo press tour for PFK even sadder and a poor reflection on the cast who I still believe let Gerard down.
I am particularly looking forward to the boards members who do see Movie 43 honest reviews. I think we all will get a more honest appraisal than from the critics.

That's a very intriguing review. I hadn't thought about the film actually having a deep and meaningful point of view. I'm still not going to go see it.

Gerry did not attend the premiere of Movie 43 only the after party and in Hollywood there is a difference. And I am surprised but not surprised that he attended, he has been a friend of Ryan K and one thing I have noticed about Gerry he does support his colleagues and friends. Not sure if it was a good move to show up but kudos to him for having the guts to do it good or bad. Who showed up - theblemish.com/2013/01/look-who-showed-up-for-the-movie-43-premiere/#135650

well given Gerry gave the Art of Elysium gala which one of RK's annual events for charities a miss - was that two years in a row? wasn't sure where his friendship with Kavanaugh was standing because lest we forget it looked like Relativity Media dropped the ball on MGP or at least some of the other producers of MGP were very vocal with their disappointment with RM and they would know better than us right what was going on last year - I don't think these two have been pictured together since last summer
I think Movie 43 is the kind of movie to see with a little alcohol or pot in your system, with friends who have raunchy senses of humor, my friends do but this may just be even out of their comfort zone, just saying which is certainly going to be the case with the younger crowd anyway, everything is funnier then- a couple of bottles at wine at dinner and the gang is already giggly
I do think some fans of the various stars may go just to see what the heck is Hugh or Kate or Gerry etc doing in this movie for curiosity sake
I would think Knoxville would be promoting this because this is pretty much his genre of movie, the title sucks teens will be going WTF is a Movie 43 now you call it JackAss or JackAss2, Jackass 3d, you got their attention

Well, I can do raunchy, but will probably pass on this. Not enough G. And I'll use that movie money for additional OHF visits.
My negative feelings about RK are pretty strong--MGP never made it to my area. But remember, imdb still has Relativity and Fuqua with Gerry for Hunter Killer. So maybe that's still on.

Sorry that I got the information about the premier incorrect. Pothos, Hi, sorry, I wrote that post to fast. I just wanted to actually assure you that it means more if Gerry attended the premiere than the After Party. After reading your reports on how the critics are attacking him in the UK, I am just as worried that he would show up for the film's premiere. You can't help but admire Gerry for not running from his commitments like the rest of that cast (although I wish he didn't show up ). shellie P.S. Keep those up-dates from the UK coming!

Gerry is a naughty, naughty boy with a wicked sense of humor. He admitted that he liked Borat. I think deep down he actually enjoyed making Movie 43. Also, it's not a surprise that they got mostly European and Australian A-listers... I think they just have a bit different attitude towards some of this stuff than Americans. Just do a search for the German trailer for this movie and you know what I mean. I can not post the link here because the trailer is VERY r-rated!!! Not for the faint of hearted. I didn't think this movie was for me since Borat was too much for me and I'm not a prude... Lol... I am from Europe originally and nudity doesn't shock me but Borat was just too much. So I thought I would pass... However after reading that intriguing review I decided to watch it. I'm going with a coworker on Tuesday. That should be interesting...lol I warned him about the movie... But be admitted loving Borat so he may like it better than me... Lol plus Tuesday is bargain day so if I walk out I only waste $ 5...

Wow, he really doesn't like Guy Richie, does he? I must confess I've always found Mark Kermode interesting to listen to, he knows and loves his subject matter, but I often find myself disagreeing with him. RocknRolla was a very entertaining film, I enjoyed it and I think Kermode was wrong and he carried his antipathy towards Guy Richie with him into the screening, despite what he says. Even Simon Mayo was questioning his judgement. I haven't listened to the Playing For Keeps segment. I can't bring myself to.

I couldn't listen to the Playing for Keeps segment either after listening to his rant on Guy Ritchie, I know he would have even been more brutal to Gerry since PFK was not a complete film, the changes to the film doomed it unfortunately. And I have to say I hate critics like this guy, they are so full of their own importance!
