This article about the annual Dressed to Kilt bash claims Gerry is expected to be in attendence: Mad about the curl OLYMPIC STUNNER EVE MUIRHEAD TO JOIN MISS SCOTLAND AT DRESSED TO KILT BASH IN NEW YORK www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/scottish/scottish_showbiz/749428/Olympic-stunner-Eve-Muirhead-to-join-Miss-Scotland-at-Dressed-To-Kilt.html The 19-year-old Winter Olympics star, from Blair Atholl, Perthshire, will rub shoulders with a string of celebs making their debuts at the glitzy New York bash, including actor Brendan Fraser.
The 41-year-old Mummy star will take to the catwalk for the first time at the glamorous night - which has been titled Mad For Scotland this year - to kick off the Big Apple's Tartan Week.
And he'll join regulars including Miss Scotland Katharine Brown, 22, Hollywood star Mike Myers, rugby ace Chris Cusiter, 27, and movie hunk Gerard Butler, 40.
A source close to the show, organised by Sir Sean Connery, revealed: "It's shaping up to be one of the best-ever events." I didn't know it was organized by Sir Sean Connery but doesn't Gerry have a movie starting soon?

I know last year a prominent fan went to New York for dress to Kilt and was devastated that Gerry didn't show.

Well I hope that they get the list of who is coming confirmed - I think some events on purpose dangle big names to get you to buy tickets when they know full well that things are not confirmed. I went to an event put on by the infamous White House Party crashers and they did not deliver on a lot of promises.
Given the date of April 5, I highly doubt Gerry would be able to make it unless he really is not needed on set until much late, Now if they could get Craig Ferguson and Gerry together that would be brilliant.

Oops. Forgot one important thing. Is this event just for the rich and famous or are us regular folk able to go IF we can afford it or IF we know someone connected with the event? Thanks again. PattheGerrykat

I like this idea! We'll keep the "other" Gerry occupied. We can send him all around the world, from one Weirdly Obsessed fan to the next. I call "dibs"!!!

Well I am sure Gerry wishes he could clone himself.
I get nervous making big plans to attend things way out of town unless I know for sure who is going to be there and even then s**t happens.
For example my main reason for going to this event put on by the White House party crashers was going to pull out of the event himself because he felt he was getting the run around but because so many fans had planned to be there to see him perform he did not cancel. We got lucky there.
Even concerts, until Ticketmaster is issuing the tickets, don't be booking your travel plans until then. Seen a lot of so called reported by the media or a promoter concert dates turn out to be wrong and people jump the gun in fandom.

I don't think it's a coincidence this show in NY is the same week as the Tartan's week up here... Wonder if Sir Sean does that for Scots who live abroad..

Last year they claimed that Gerry was going to go and he never confirmed. As Dianne said fans who bought tickets at a premium price were upset. Unfortunately, they were upset with Gerry, who never confirmed he was going. They put his name on the list with the hope he would go and more importantly knowing he is a draw and that they could sell tickets with his name attached...not cool. Someone on GALS last years said Joy, his publicist was very upset when they learned after the event that his name was on the list and fans were so disappointed. You know that had to get back to Gerry. This makes me wonder if he is indeed going this year due to what happened last year or is this organization stupid enough to do the same false advertising scam again? I think that both .net and GALS will try their best to confirm with either Joy or Alan on his attendance this year so fans are not buying tickets before he is indeed confirmed. So lets sit tight on this one. I am sure he needs to eventually start filming....right? ?

If I remember right he was still in India during dressed to the Kilt last year and never had any plans of going.
