thescotsman.scotsman.com/features/At-Full-Kilt-Dressed-to.6207496.jpReport on the night Excerpt "One of the biggest cheers of the night went to Aberfeldy-born actor Alan Cumming. His version of the Frank Sinatra song That's Life belted over the sound-system as he sashayed in a three-piece kilt suit. The crowd cheered as Cumming bent down and fished a Tunnock's caramel wafer from under his kilt and threw it towards them.
Cumming, who recently appeared on the catwalk with Naomi Campbell at the supermodel's Fashion for Relief Haiti NYC 2010 charity event, said he would take the catwalk in his stride. He said: "Once you've followed Naomi, anything else is a piece of cake." Asked what he loved most about Scotland, Cumming, who is based in New York, said: "I love the spirit and the openness and the sense of justice and fairness."
Joan Jett scored cheers and wolf whistles with a huge feather Mohican, a long PVC coat, bra top and kilt.
However, many people were left disappointed when Scottish film star Gerard Butler pulled out at the last minute, with some complaining that he was the reason they'd bought tickets."I love Alan Cummings. To be fair, assuming once again Gerry ever confirmed he was attending and they once again used his name to attract tickets sales, Gerry was clearly removed from the list of models attending on Wednesday before the event and he thereafter stated he was spending Easter Weekend in Scotland. And the word was getting around in some circle. There however was some press that was still advertising that Gerry would be there right up to the day of the event but other press did not mention Gerry over the weekend. I think the organizers of the show were remiss in not making a clear statement on that or they should never add his name if he was not confirmed. Now if he was confirmed and pulled out, he did so at least on Wednesday because someone removed his name from the website, but they did it rather quietly. But it was clear from the Twitters that even people in the show backstage on Monday were expecting him to turn up so I figured there would be some unhappy peeps. Esp since he is looking so very very fine right now. Now I hope this is on tape "Wearing vivid pink and yellow tartans, TV interiors makeover duo and real-life partners Justin Ryan and Colin McAllister silenced the Scots and Americans in the audience with a passionate kiss for the cameras." I love Justin and Colin too, I watch their show Home Heist - why they came to Canada to do a show I know not but I love to watch it.

And from Vanity Fair G-Spot A Go-Go, Whiskey-Filled Night with Joan Jett! by George Wayne April 7, 2010, 4:15 PM www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2010/04/a-go-go-whiskey-night-with-joan-jett.html"When yours truly stepped on the red carpet and encountered a phalanx of paps shouting, “George! George!”, one would’ve thought that George Clooney was in the house. “Who are you excited to see in their kilt this season?” was the first query G.W. faced from a Web-TV site called the Daily Chic. “I’m hoping Gerard Butler shows up,” G.W. cooed breathlessly. From this vulgarian’s front-row seat—as one of the notable judges of the eighth annual spring fling—Gerard will no doubt be able to hear G.W.’s squealing, “Show us your Butt-ler!” Alas, the butt of Gerard Butler was nowhere to be found (much to the disappointment of all, as he failed to honor his obligation as the star with top billing)."
