Some of the JJ posters can be real morons. Good for Matt and I’m glad they quoted Gerry and emphasized he is not the 300 guy in real life and does not try to be. And Matt was right to bring up the fact that there isn’t that much of a double standard when Alec Baldwin and Russell Crow, who are far heavier then Gerry get no slack for their extra weight. Although Alec Baldwin has done such a good job as a comic actor I don't think that extra weight is an issue anymore.
Maybe Gerry and Matt ought to have a little visit on the show.

Aside from er- the Breakfast comment!- this was my favorite:
We make small talk about the importance of stretching. Gerry stops mid-sentence, again and again, logging the appearance of every woman walking by (even the elderly).

Good on Matt Lauer - I heard he said this is news? Really when you think about it, Gerry did not have six pack abs in 300, those were at least 12 pack abs and only competitive bodybuilders can sustain that kind of form. For the high end guys this is their job - they don't focus on anything else. Interesting article at GQ website - a guy who had done an interview with Gerry in 2007 and got to work out with him - GB was just starting to get into shape for Gamer - reprinted the interview in light of all the hoo ha about the Barbados picture: www.gq.com/blogs/the-q/2010/01/gerard-butlers-just-desserts.htmlInteresting too someone says they not only saw Gerry in Barbados but danced with him [lucky b****] and said he looked gorgeous and he was a sweetheart to paraphrase, p. 27 over at JJ. I can believe it. I think Gerry is one of those guys who as good as he looks in still photos he looks better on film and even better in person. Oh I love Barbados, trying to imagine which nightspot - all the happening spots are in St. Lawrence's Gap. I remember it fondly -on my second trip, I had three guys fighting over me one night along with a marriage proposal from one. Never happened to me before and never will again. Pretty sure though the guy with the marriage proposal was looking for a way into Canada, not into my heart. Awesome article, thanks for sharing, canadia! When I read that the TMZ Ladies Man song about Gerry popped in my head...gotta love him!

Look at this gorgeous wallpaper someone made up from one of the shots from Barbados made up by Evita Art If you go to the page you can get a very large image www.flickr.com/photos/37341181@N08/4245654429/sizes/s/If you go here you can get some very large version of the Barbados pictures www.flickr.com/photos/29269657@N05/4244640390/in/photostream/You know when Shawn from AH asked Gerry about the infamous photos he said they were photoshopped and we all figured ha ha very funny. But you know I am wondering about that one shot, the bad one they used all over the world. The side view. Hmmm. I just was reminded of this because people are arguing over the Octomom bikini photos, many say it is obvious it was photoshopped. And just as you can make someone thinner than they are [hello Oprah every month on her magazine cover] you could certainly make someone appear bigger than they actually are. Just a thought.

When arms are lifted over head it does tend to lift everything up for a slimmer look. But in those photos I’m revising his weight gain down to about 5 pounds combined with not doing any abs work. I can distort and slim people down even with my crude photo editing program. If that’s what happened to make those photos more profitable, then Gerry got a very raw deal. And it’s notable we never saw the photos that were more flattering to Gerry.

I saw that interview too and wondered myself. I use Photoshop a lot, and by using the clone tool and some shadowing it would be possible to achieve a few extra pounds around the torso. The thing is though, he looks heavier in the face too in those photographs, and that would be much harder to alter. Gerry seems to gain and lose weight so fast (as some men often do), that he could probably drop ten pounds in two weeks without too much trouble.

Well I was just thinking that maybe just the one photo, the one that looked the worst and the one that got beamed around the planet might have been fudged and that is a good point, the better photos were not released by most of the outlets. Perhaps for good reason.

Perhaps for good reason. I definitely know which one you're talking about and you could be right. I'm certainly not a Photoshop expert, and some of these people are. The media always seems to find the most unflattering photo they can, and then they plaster it all over the covers of magazines and title it "So and So - Exposed". And to think I almost went into journalism as a career. Well, surely there are some ethical journalists left.

Yes it is quite annoying how men can lose weight so quickly - I remember on Biggest Loser Australia one guy lost 30 pounds the first week - he broke the world wide Biggest Loser record for most lost in one week. However I personally think that is unhealthy I don't care how many doctors and trainers you got. But 10 pounds in two weeks for someone who is in and out of being in shape is easier than for someone who hasn't exercised in 10 years and even those men can lose that much quickly. Grrr. And it's not like Gerry ever seems to sit still anyway. Dancing, dirty and otherwise, burns off lots of calories. LOL.

Men losing weight so fast a sore point with me as well! It seemed like Gerry was pretty active on his vacation, he didn't go to the the gym which is what most people do when they take break.
