I think Slide is about a baseball player; I remember reading somewhere on here that there was a mention of this movie.
All I know is that if Gerry's starring in it, I'm gonna see it.

I think Slide is about a baseball player; I remember reading somewhere on here that there was a mention of this movie. All I know is that if Gerry's starring in it, I'm gonna see it. Film School Rejects asked Gerard in a recent interview what was up next for Evil Twins and his response is below:
There’s a few different projects that we’ve been working on, but there’s one in particular – it’s a movie called Slide about a former baseball player who goes back to try and patch things up with his child and estranged wife and ends up coaching the kid’s baseball team. He becomes the subject of fascination and longer by every bored house wife in the town. And it’s him trying to survive that while trying to patch things up with his kid. I think we’re going to have Gabriele Muccino direct the movie. Hopefully. We’re in talks with him, and he’s very much up for directing it so we’ll what happens there. Here is the mention of it from gerardbutler.net. Sounds really interesting, but it seems G is very busy this year, so probably won't film that until 2011, and release in 2012 IF it even happens. Now, it doesn't mention anything about whether or not Gerry will actually star in it, or if he's just producing it with Evil Twins.

Another article www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/movies/os-movie-story-childers-2-20100305,0,1423401.story I like this excerpt: Butler leapt at "the chance to show some acting chops to go with his 300 brawn." "He strikes me as an actor who's interested in this as a way of opening up his image a bit," says Childers."I didn't think about this as movie material, not while I was living this life. But now that I think about it, looking at where I came from and what I'm doing with my life today, I can see it. You look at that movie Blood Diamond. That explains a lot of what I do in Sudan. Those are the type of people I'm rescuing the kids from."

Odd, I've been in touch with Justin who is the Director of Sam Childers npo office, and my local Shareout group is collecting clothing, shoes for kid and adults for the kids in the Sudan. Sam has a huge container that is filled each year with donations that people bring or send in the mail. He then spends around $15K to ship it to the sudan orphanage, but its so helpful. Anyways, I had called in Nov to ask about where to send shoes, (worked for payless shoes and they were trashing their 2 yr old stock of childrens sandals, and I contacted corporate and asked to have them donated to Sams, Angels of East Africa. Anyways, Payless did, and right now, there are 312 pairs of shoes in my storage unit, along with about 2 tons of kids clothing, and other items waiting to be packed and driven to Sam Childers place. And so, when i spoke to Justin, he mentioned that Sam was busy with GB at his place, and that GB was nice, but ate lots of junk food. Snickers and kitkats. Maybe we should send him a box while he is away shooting his next movie in Europe. He might be ready for some real american candy by the end of it. lol Anyways, my pt payless job was over, and I am at a Phila PR company, and I asked if Justin was taking on interns or free labor for the npo? Yes, and would I be interested in coming on board in April, and could I cook on the side? Sure thing. So, I've been hoarding money, got a trailer to hitch on back of my truck when i take our donations and going to work for them pt for the summer, and early fall. Then flying to Scotland later. If the GB movie actually happens, some of you should come visit me. Maybe he'll be there, then you could get autographs or somethiing, or heck, bring clothing donations for the kids. AT any rate, going to be a busy year for him, for us, for me. Heather

It must be so hard for him to give it up when he has to get in shape for a role. I give him credit for his will power but he is a man of determination and he knows what needs to be done.

hi heather - so glad you are here! listen, this work that you're involved with is absolutely INCREDIBLE! by you, and people like you, paying attention to even the smallest, inconsequential detail....folks who perserve on getting these supplies half way around the world.....it makes up swell up...tearfully in joy actually....because i've had experience with someone who was at the receiving end of this gift of love, hard work and generosity..... several years ago while working at a rehab i had the pleasure of working with and befriending a 'lost boy' from sudan. his life story was awesomely life changing to all those around him. one of the stories he shared (amazingly he remembered given the horrific trauma he suffered) was when he made it to this 'compound' he had received food, water, milk, and clothes, sneakers, loving care...as a child these commodities he had gone without for a long long time .
thank you heather. you're awesome girl! and, i don't think we can wait till this film gets made....this man, a tough motor cycling preacher man...helping to save the skin AND the soul...whoosh! i bet gerry is gonna be....OMG....(chuckle) chills run up & down my spine....hee hee...serious, this is going to be a good film....lately, i've heard from various odd sources all over....'it IS all about the s-t-o-r-y!'...this project has got THE story
