I remember talking on the phone to a friend from the US.
We mostly managed to communicate, but I asked him if his sister was actually his half sister.
The word half. He just couldn't understand what I meant.
I say harf, you say haff!!

I mentioned the AR sound that Americans make. When the English pronounce AR it sound like AH to me....Like Far...fah "How fah are you going?" Don't get me wrong I LOVE a British accent I could sit and listen to you all talk for hours.....You even make the word fart sound classy...Sorry I fahted.
Before I bought my dachshund I went on a message board to learn about the breed and this person came on and said, "Is everyone on this message board Yanks? Are there any British Doxie owners?
I thought that was so funny that smart ass that I am, I posted back...... "Tell me, when the British Doxie barks does it sound more classy and sophisticated then the American Doxie?"
The person wrote back...."YES!" ;D

I've never heard GB do an American accent. Scottish seems to be one of the hardest accents to lose. You get people who have lived in LA for 40 years, and they still sound like they never left Glasgow. Straying off topic, people used to criticize Catherine Zeta Jones because her off-duty accent was kind of half-Welsh, half-American. They said she was trying to suppress the Welsh. But don't most people pick up a bit of the accent that's around them? You are right Nel, I think it is easy to pick up a slight accent when you live in a place for a long time or even just a short time...I mean you hear it everyday and I think there is a part of us that wants to fit in with the people we live around and whether you do it on purpose or not I believe you are going to pick up the local accent. Hey Leppard....do you talk at all like the people for the movie Fargo? A lot of Dutch originally settled in that area and you can really hear it in the accent there. Fargo is a great movie by the way.... In a couple of interviews Gerry says a few words how American's would pronounce them. I think on of the biggest differences between English vs American accent is the way we say words that have 'ar' in them like car, far, tar....we tend to say are very flat sounding and over pronouncing that 'r' sound. No, but I work with people who do have that accent. It is mostly the Scandanavian's that speak like that.

Ewwww.....Adam....yesssssss!
There are actually a few really sexy bible Characters from the old testament. The Bible are full of some lusty, sexy men. David for one was a King and had a man murdered to get his wife. Then there is Sampson who let his penis control his better judgement where Delila was concerned.... Time for some old remakes.

I don't wanna see him do a biblical. That's too touchy for me. Plus he already did a Spartan thing. I love him in nothing but doing another half clothed movie would not be good for his career. Well not bad but he would be tied to a certain role.
IDK...I think I am babbling.

I know what you mean....But I love the old testament bible stories.... Now if Gerry had been in the passion of the Christ....Yikes....that's another matter altogether.

Ah Ha...Vlad the Impaler! That sounds good. He does have this gothic, timeless, celtic/oriental warrior kind of persona he fits well into. (I'm so late with all of this.) Here's an idea (*mentioned in another space-oops)...Hemmingways, 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' remade to modern day Iraq with Martin Scorsese directing GB and Jennifer Aniston (?). I think they'd click on screen and do it well with drama and intensity.

(shiver) sounds good but I can't stand Aniston. (shivers) She gets on my nerves. I could slap that bitch if I saw her. Plus she has a thing with getting with co-stars.
She better stick to John and leave GB alone. (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)

I'd like to see Gerry as The Count of Monte Cristo, done the RIGHT way...the movie with Jim Caviezel (sp?) was completely wrong, if you're a die hard fan of the book. I think Gerry would be a great Edmond Dantes!
