From Entertainment tonight on line www.etonline.com/news/2008/11/68214/'Knocked Up' and "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl returns to big-screen romance opposite '300' hunk Gerard Butler this coming April in the deliciously dirty comedy 'The Ugly Truth' -- but why is she in for a rude awakening? ET has an exclusive first look! In 'The Ugly Truth,' Katherine plays Abby, a romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for Mr. Perfect has left her hopelessly single. "I think we decided to make Abby just on the cusp of OCD," explains Katherine. "Just a really uptight chick who is super organized, super on top of things, and likes that kind of control in every aspect of her life; she's really great at her job, but she tries to take that professionalism and those organizational skills into dating." Clearly it's not working. Now, Abby is in for a rude awakening when hardcore TV personality Mike Chadway (Butler) enters the picture and pulls no punches -- on air and off -- about the ugly truth on what makes men and women tick. Will their immediate friction create sparks? Or will someone go down in flames? Watch ET for more with

Ugly Truth Review buzzsugar.com/2549846As you can see from this helpful poster, men and women are different. So different that when a "romantically challenged" woman (Katherine Heigl) can't seem to find love, a chauvinistic (though incredibly handsome) buffoon (Gerard Butler) is just the person to instruct her on how to attract a man. The trailer for The Ugly Truth, a romantic comedy (presumably) about opposites attracting, is actually more amusing than its flimsy premise would have you believe. Butler is usually charming onscreen — even when his character is a total jerk — and while I may be alone in this opinion, I actually really like Heigl in roles like this one. The Ugly Truth opens April 3. To check out the new trailer and let me know what you think, read more.

He is such a chauvanistic bastard in this film... doesn't stop him from being sexy though. I have to see this and the more I see the trailer (3x already) the more I need to see it.

i really want to see this one too, although we know it will be predictable and they will end up together in the end...It's fun to see them get there. This is going to be a fun movie.

And that is the point. Of course every girl wants to be the one to change the "bad" boy. That's what GB's character is. A player and of course we all know that he does change and its all funny and romantic, same shit but better packaging.

www.azcentral.com/ent/movies/articles/2008/12/24/20081224trailertalk.htmlTrailer talk: 'The Ugly Truth' by Bill Goodykoontz - Dec. 24, 2008 12:00 AM The Arizona Republic Watch We must admit to being intrigued by all the Katherine Heigl melodrama over on Grey's Anatomy - not on the show, but behind the scenes. You will recall that she took her name out of Emmy consideration earlier in the year, saying that the writers hadn't given her good enough material. Nice. So now they've given her an affair with a dead guy. Karma. What happened to her film career, after such a promising turn in Knocked Up? We'll find out in The Ugly Truth, set to open in April. And while we do not personally know Heigl, from the trailer it appears she evidently plays a sort of character much like our perception of her. That would be Abby Richter, an anal-retentive morning-show producer with a new host, a man's-man sort named Mike Alexander (Gerard Butler). She hates him because he's a pig, basically. But he is a ratings success, much to her chagrin, and her love life is in the tank. If she follows his instructions, he tells her, she'll have success. If his advice fails, he'll quit. So a series of comic misadventures transpire, followed by what looks like the inevitable magnetic attraction of the two opposites. Wow. Who could have guessed? Besides, you know, everyone. Will the movie be a hit? Butler's a fan favorite, but Heigl's polarizing, and there's nothing in the trailer for The Ugly Truth that makes you think either will change. Not saying her movie career is in trouble, but she might think about sending some doughnuts over to the writers' room on Grey's sometime soon.

Whatever. I think it will do fine. Right up there with PSILY and Knocked Up. That was good one too.

Yeah, and at least I won't be buckets because Gerry's character has died and can't be with Holly anymore (I also had tears in my eyes at the funny bits). I love PSILY, I just can't watch it because it makes me so sad.
