You know there are a few reasons I love this film (besides seeing Gerry which is always a bonus); first is that you never see this lucky painting or Uri's. This was Guy's intent. When I watched this with the audio commentary, he mentioned that he did that on purpose. I also like that you are left with the impression that One Two and Handsome Bob did something more than what actually happened. The sex scene was absolute genius; with the limitations they had to deal with (Gerry's throat infection) it turned out great. I loved this film and I love Gerry.

Just watched RocknRolla again, I think this is now my favourite Guy Ritchie film. One Two: Let's go get those papers from your boyfriend. And drop me off on the way. I'm going back to bed.
Handsome Bob: Can I come?
One Two: *slap* Love it!

I love the line about "you forgot to tell us about the big guns with war criminals attached to the triggers". Gerry's got some great lines in that movie.

I was just thinking Thandie Newton almost reminds me of Madonna is this movie. She’s so ruthless and manipulative, and causes a large amount of trouble for One Two and the gang. I’m sure Guy Ritchie didn’t intend that comparison but they did divorce after the movie was done so I’ve always wondered if Guy was projecting some of his frustrations onto Thandie’s character.

good point Soph I have never seen Thandie play such a ruthless character one of the reasons I love this movie.
I had to admit on first watch I was like, took a little long to get going Guy. I watch it again and liked it more.
Well I watched RocknRolla again last - it is now on The Movie Network ie cost nothing and will also be available on demand for free for me anyway and I liked it even better. This is what I find with Guy's movies the more I watch them I see things I missed the time before and that to me is also a mark of a good movie, a good album, a good book. I have seen Snatch way too many times. Lock Stock and Barrel only a few times. I wonder if they will put the three movies in a triple set - that's a popular thing to do now. I am quite sure Snatch and Lock Stock are in a double set at Walmart. Might have to get that too.
I was howling watching the end credits and One Two is dancing with Bob in the gay bar - hysterical.
I want to get the Double DVD Rock N Rolla so I have not bought it yet, I have to find the double DVD set.

What I liked is when One Two asked Thandie if she wanted to take salsa lessons or whatever with him. Seems like he liked the dancing he did with Handsome Bob after all!! At first, I thought they wanted us to think they did more than dance, but once it was out in the open, I didn't get the feeling that One Two was hiding anything. He was just mortified about being in the gay club and dancing with Handsome Bob in public. His face was priceless in the end credits - his eyes tightly shut, wanting it to be over. Loved him moving HB's hand from his ass!!

I liked how One Two reacted when he found out HB had a crush on him! Hilarious!

This is a very funny interview from You Tube rgarding the whole gay thing in RnR. I just love how Gerry seems a little uncomfortable and is not quite sure what to think of this guy in the beginning of the interview, and whether or not this guy is serious, but then when he mentions Brokeback Mountain, it's like everything falls into place for Gerry. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMn9BS5Bpeg

Oh my! That's about the gayest interviewer I've ever seen! Gerry did well and kept something that could have been awkward as something fun and entertaining. Fun interview.

I really enjoy this review of RocknRolla. Some of the typing may not be up to par but I like most of the turns of phrase and perspective, I got a sense of someone from London East End or South vs West End or North. you know what I mean and they have a few screen caps from the DVD wildthingsfulllength.rangdebasanti.com/2010/07/02/rocknrolla-review/Like this bit for example: "Guy Ritchie isn’t just shoving leftovers from Snatch in the microwave to rake in a far-sighted buck, granted. He’s older, he’s been knocked around a bit, and he can see the bigger epitome at present. Ditto for the thugs that head up RocknRolla. The Wild Spray — led by Scottish bruiser One Two (Gerard Butler) and his buddy Mumbles (Idris Elba) — don’t want to sling around drugs or anything equal that anymore. There’s bigger flush in going legit…in corporeal estate. The sticker price to go to land in London is skyrocketing with all of the moolah being funneled in from billionaires in of the Eastern Bloc, and the two of ‘em want in"
