Thanks Elenoire. I was trying to maintain a positive attitude towards this film but I did have reservations about it. Glad to see he's moving on.

I kinda wish he would have done the movie because I think he would have been good in it. But since he is not going to be in the movie he now work on London Has Fallen.

Shocked and stunned today to read Gerry dropped out of PB. Sad really. Who doesn't want more Gerry in a wetsuit surfing?
GOE is running late. LHF is on the calendar. Must be shooting for late summer/early fall to get that done before the winter weather in Bulgaria. I sure hope that's the case and it's not delayed.
I don't want Gerry totally burned out before LHF starts. Still, I want to see him in as many movies as he can handle. Bummed out today.

I think the reason Gerry could be stepping away may be due to news in the article I posted above when Johnny Depp's movie flopped Transcendence which is the same studio for PB -- Alcon. If they lost $100 million things are not good. And I read that Geo-storm is to start filming in late Fall, and with London Has Fallen scheduled also, if they decided to pushed back Point Break it may have caused Gerry dropping out. I wonder also, if the creative difference could be attributed to possible budget cuts to the movie since they lost a lot of money on Depp's movie. I have mixed feelings over Gerry walking away from this project I was always worried about the backlash over this remake and if they would give this new movie a chance. But I want Gerry to make movies!!! .

They say PB is still to film in June. Who knows if that is true. Maybe they want a cheaper less known actor now. It sounds like they are having money issues which may make changes in the shoot and budget.
I just hope the script for LHF is awesome and they do a great job with the sequel. Sequels are touchy these days. I want Gerry to have success with his movies from now on.
LHF must have to film by end of this year and Geostorm if happening next year as it's due out in 2016. I would feel better if Gerry's camp made a statement but they never do.
I hope Gerry is not too upset over the loss of another role. He sure has been hit with industry issues when it comes to movies the past few years.

I knew as soon as they announced a release date for London Has Fallen for next year, something had to give - a project was going to be delayed.
THey might get PB together to film by the end of June, but I am betting that we will hear they delay the project until the Fall at the soonest. I was surprised that London Has Fallen was green lighted so quickly maybe cast available for LHF had something to do with this also. I hope things are good for Gerry!

gerry'sdrop out of point break renake says the hollywood reporter tuesday I think the main reason he pulled out of the movie had more to do with the backlash of people's hate on this remake.

I'm glad he isn't going to be in the remake of PB. I didn't like the idea of it from the beginning. Remakes are kind of a joke in the movie world. Not a good idea to attach your name to it in my opinion. GO is better than that.

I have never been a fan of remake , so i'm kinda glad that Gerry walked away from PB. Sure , i would love to see him in many movies as possible . but since he's got GOE LHF and now Geostorm , i'm okay with it. I just hope that Gerry did't have his heart sett on the role. Then aginn , i don't think Gerrys fond of remakes either.

Sorry I think they tried to renegotiate the $$$$$ and he would not negotiate and with the conflict said F--k it and was out of there.

I think you’ve got it, Florida. The timing factor is huge -- isn’t Geostorm starting production in September? And then LHF later in the fall. I think I also read that Septembers of Shiraz in filming beginning in June. Wouldn’t he want to be hands on as much as possible. About the nasty comments from the bashers, sometimes I wonder if we don’t suffer more than he does; I know it always makes me physically sick.

This article is interesting I thought the movie may have been pushed back over financial loses but this article seems to indicate they may be in haste to get the movie done. If they are in haste to get the movie made it could have changed the script causing the creative differences. I guess you have to look at it that it wasn't meant to be and move on.
