Where is Alan what is going on with Gerry? When is he coming back to US or is he? When will we see him working on a movie, he is happy when he is acting. I'm still holding out hope for Outlander. I guess the studio where it's going to be filmed is located in Glasgow but the outdoor scene will be shot in the highlands. I know that Diana Gabaldon herself said that Gerry would be too expensive for the series and another question too would be would Gerry take a step backward (which it maybe considered) and do a series for a couple of years? But the thing is, the books are wildly popular and his name has always been linked with Outlander so much so that Diana Gabaldon had to comment on it as well as Gerry. If you may remember Gerry said this, and I'm paraphrasing, "You have no idea how many of those fucking books have been sent to me!" I was chatting with her PM on Facebook and I told her that and she got a big kick out of him saying that about her books. She told me to tell him if I ever see him again that she sends her regards.

lol, well if he plays Dougal, he won't have a whole lot of screen time - maybe he would make time for it.... for a lesser fee lol

Another role assigned.... For those watching Games of thrones, a familiar face www.deadline.com/2013/08/tobias-menzies-cast-in-starzs-outlander/Tobias Menzies (Game Of Thrones) has landed a dual co-starring role in Starz‘s upcoming Outlander, a Ron Moore series based on Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling books. Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. Menzies will play Claire’s 20th century husband Frank Randall, a professional historian with a deep interest in the 18th century and his own genealogy. He also will play Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall, Frank’s ancestor from the 18th century, a Captain in the English Army posted into Scotland during a time when rebellion was rife.

Another one on Facebook, I have liked on several pages pertaining to this:
GBM Casting (based in Glasgow) is one of the agencies casting extras for Outlander and here are the details. If you are living in the area, you might get a chance to participate as the shoot is long (38 weeks) and they will probably need a lot of extras. The article that featured this information is over a month old, but it could not hurt to still contact them. Do not contact them if you do not live in the area. GBM Casting does not have any information on their website about this project.
“Extras are wanted for Outlander, filming in Cumbernauld and the Scottish Central Belt,” the GBM Casting spokesperson added. “As it is set in 1790’s and 1940’s Scotland, we are looking for long haired men and women with natural hair (unless it’s one natural colour), no tattoos or piercings and of slim build; 1940’s male hair shouldn’t be too short (short back & sides is the minimum) and naturally coloured, no tattoos. “We have an age range of between 16 and 50 year,” the spokesperson added. “Any horse riding, cart driving, sword fighting and rifle shooting experience would be a helpful too. “If you feel you fit the criteria then please send an email with a recent photo, measurements and skills to info@gbmcasting.co.uk, with the reference “Outlander”. GBM will not charge a joining fee for this production.”
