Steven: Gerry Butler…. Can I call you Gerry?
Gerry: Yeah.
Steven: You are on the Steven Hall Show. <?> I have to tell you that Phantom of the Opera was my number two favorite movies that year. I loved Phantom of the Opera. Here we are with The Phantom of the Opera.. no..no.. Now it’s a new movie Rock-n-Rolla. So I’m delighted to meet you.
Gerry: And you, and you <mumble> me. You couldn’t have said your favorite movie you had to say…
Stephen: <Interrupts> Well Brokeback was that year so that was number one. So Phantom of the Opera was number two. I shouldn’t have said it.
Gerry: No you hurt my feelings. I thought you were going to say, OF ALL TIME, but it was not number one, then number two, and then it was…. of that year.
Steven: Right, right, okay, yeh…
Gerry: So you disappoint me twice but that’s okay…
Stephen: Oh <whimper> but you surprised me in this movie, what did you get up too in Rock-n-Rolla with Handsome Bob? They just threw that line at me with Ludicrous… I forgot who handsome Bob was in the movie so I thought, ‘What are they talking about?’ So uh… now I remember.
Gerry: Now I remember… what was the question?
Steven: Jayyyyy <?> this was a big gay movie! This is like, you have this guy in this movie who is suddenly handsome Bob which is suddenly a thug in London, which is suddenly gay, and he like falls in love with you? Then the whole movie takes a turn and is like…
Gerry: Yeah well it does kinda throw things a bit. Well what’s actually cool is that the movie pretty much carries on… like its going to carry on which I really like…
Steven: Yes it does…
Gerry: So it puts up a broadside for my character too but everything else keeps trundling along except Handsome Bob is gay and we have to deal with that because he’s part of our gang and…
Steven: He is going to prison and he asks a favor of you and we don’t know, we can’t say what that was. It’s a mystery but…. I loved imagining it… and then it gets GAYER I mean… It just starts into this whole… this thing going on there…
Gerry: See that’s interesting, cause I didn’t get that… I always thought…
Steven: But that last scene your…
Gerry: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah… that’s true. It’s just a dance for Christ’s sake! Dancing…
Steven: No not that scene. The one where you’re, you’re, you know…<Holds hands out> on the floor…oh…
Gerry: OHHHHHHHHH! Okay…
Steven: That scene…
Gerry: Well there’s nothing going on there! I’m about to be chopped to bits. See there’s where I think….
Steven: OH! I thought your were about to get something else happen to you…
Gerry: No, no, no, no, no, no… See that’s interesting that you would think that…
Steven: Yeah I… wouldn’t I… yes.. with your pants off...
Gerry: I’m looking at it from more of a macho; I’m going to get cut to pieces?
Steven: And I thought you were getting… and I’m thinking you’re having a wonderful time tonight! And you’ll have a wonderful time seeing Rock-n-Rolla one of the best movies of the year! It was a great pleasure and great fun meeting you.
Gerry: Thank you.
Steven: Gerry Butler…
