The actors will be the hosts of the 19th annual event, to be held Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway. Jennifer Hudson and Seal are among the performers. The European Union captured the prize this year. Parker says she is honored to "promote the power of peace around the world. Butler said the European Union has shown "the world what is possible when forces unite in peace" and called the concert a "remarkable celebration of humanity." This just goes to show that even when some fans are throwing him under the bus because they don't approve of his choice for a girlfriend, and because they think his career is all washed up, and are convinced that his upcoming films are going to be flops-he is valued and respected by people in other circles. He will make a beautiful host.

Swannie ... you are 100% correct. He is well respected and valued by people that know him ... and those that know what kind of person usually comes out of Hollywood. Gerry is a good man and that's a rare thing in his industry. I'm very happy that he was asked to be a part of this celebration. And I'm very proud of him.

Well, I have to say that I agree with Swannie 100%. She didn't name any names and she was just stating her opinion as others have. We are all entitled to our opinions even though they may differ as long as we are nice to each other. I think we do all love Gerry, but some show it in a different way which I haven't yet figured out. I tend to try and be positive and optimistic and I guess some may call it "rose colored glasses", that is just me.

This is quite a coup for Gerry, I'm really proud of him! I just hope the concert will be shown all over the world! Gerry is very well liked by the powers that be. Since he's from the EU and on the board of APJ, he was an excellent choice.
