The article I am thinking of hasn't been posted here. It was the same article that talked about the lead character being scared, bald with tattoos. It actually contained a lot of spoilers so maybe that's why it wasn't posted but there was a link in the cbox. I tried to find it on imdb but the most promising link was broken. I think it was a script review. I thought long and hard which actor is grande enough to replace Gary Oldman and I finally came up with another fantastic and strangely underrated actor who I would LOVE to see as a villain in a Gerry movie... Drum roll.... Alan Rickman! Another actor that should be in every movie. Love him, he is so fascinating... And that voice.... I agree, love Alan Rickman... He got a Academy nom for this role....

Will you be publc be allowed to come and watch the filming of it? The reason I want to know is because I am only 1 hr southwest of Atlanta. Christy we pretty much post the news as we find it - so if you keep watching this thread you will be up to date. People get info from www.onlocationvacations.com/ as it becomes available, by watching twitter, and in the case of OHF there has been info in the local Shreveport newspaper about road closures that indicate where the filming will be taking place that day. Some of our members have visited film locations and been lucky enough to meet Gerry by waiting patiently (sometimes for hours) and he has been very generous with his time. I guess that again depends on what is happening on the day. Hope this is helpful

First it was Berlin. Then it got changed to Louisiana and Berlin in early July. A few days ago we got a movie news link that it will be shot in Atlanta. Since another Atlanta link gave specifics of what actors they are looking for (casting call) and who to contact for a role I'd say Atlanta is a go. Thanks Tink. That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure if I was getting my movies confused.

Mickey Rourke is a brilliant actor but he is a very complex person and not that easy to get along with (from reading his imdb page). He would be a good villain though and he has grown on the critics lately.
This snippet from his imdb page I thought was cute:
"In addition to his faith and his psychiatric treatment, Rourke has publicly attributed his comeback to his dogs. He is well-known as a pet fancier, particularly fond of small-breed dogs. A spay/neuter advocate, Rourke participated in a protest outside of a pet shop in 2007 and has done a public service announcement for PETA.
His first little dog was reportedly a gift from his second wife. Though Rourke's dogs are generally referred to as "chihuahua," some are not pure-bred. Loki, his most-publicized dog whom he described as "the love of my life," was a chihuahua-terrier mix. So reliant was Rourke on Loki's companionship, he spent US$5,400 to have her flown to England while he was on the set of the film Stormbreaker.
Rourke gave his dogs credit during his Golden Globe Best Actor acceptance speech January 11, 2009: "I'd like to thank all my dogs. The ones that are here, the ones that aren't here anymore because sometimes when a man's alone, that's all you got is your dog. And they've meant the world to me."

Some links with the news www.deadline.com/2012/08/mickey-rourke-puts-motor-city-and-sin-city-2-on-his-gps/EXCLUSIVE: Mickey Rourke is in talks to join Gerard Butler in the Albert Hughes-directed Motor City for Joel Silver’s Dark Castle. The drama, which centers on a man who is double crossed and seeks revenge on the guy who put him behind bars and took his woman, will be distributed domestically by Warner Bros. Rourke is also now in negotiations to make a return trip to Sin City 2, the Robert Rodriguez/Frank Miller sequel. He’ll reprise his role of Marv, the hulking tough guy with a soft spot for women. Wait, didn’t Rourke’s compelling character get the electric chair in the last film? He’s repped by ICM Partners. blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/mickey-rourke-latest-to-join-try-and-rev-up-motor-city-20120806After seeing various folks like Jake Gyllenhaal, Dominic Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Clive Owen, Amber Heard and Gary Oldman come and go from the long developing "Motor City," director Albert Hughes will probably take whoever he can get at this point. Right now, Gerard Butler is sitting in the lead role, and now he's got a co-star. Mickey Rourke has joined the movie in what we presume is the villain role, but Deadline's one sentence report isn't clear on that point. Penned by Chad St. John, the hotly buzzed-about 2009 Black List script follows a small-time crook who is framed and sent to jail, and then goes after the guys that put him there. But the big twist of this one is that the protagonist only has one line in the whole movie, so that should be interesting...if it ever gets made. Maybe this will be the combo that gets the movie rolling, but we'd reckon we would have preferred Gary Oldman as our baddie. But then again, maybe doing a Dark Castle genre flick wasn't the best move for him. No word on when this might roll, and they'll need to find the female lead first anyway. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=93334Mickey Rourke is in talks to join the cast of Albert Hughes' Motor City, Deadline reports. They also confirm that the actor is still on track to reprise his role as Marv in Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Set to star Gerard Butler, Motor City is about an ex-convict (Butler) tracking down those that framed him to get revenge. The script for A Dame to Kill For, meanwhile, was confirmed to feature Marv last year and the actor told ComingSoon.net that, despite a dislike of the heavy prosthetics that the role requires, he'd be interested in returning. "It depends," he said, "It depends on how bad they want me. You feel me?... I did [like the character], but I'm claustrophobic, so the the hours of makeup -- You have to keep it on for about 13 or 14 hours a day. It's latex and glue and that stuff that gets my eyes all red..." Both projects are set to begin production soon, with A Dame to Kill For targeting an October 4, 2013 release. www.firstshowing.net/2012/mickey-rourke-confirmed-for-sin-city-2-and-also-joins-motor-city/Deadline also says that Rourke is going to join Gerard Butler in Motor City. The project has been in the works for awhile, with leading men popping in and out of the project. First, Dominic Cooper was attached, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Then, Jake Gyllenhaal jumped on board for literally one day before he dropped out as well, Jeremy Renner was offered the part and turned it down, but it sounds like Butler has stuck with it so far. The script was on the 2009 Black List, follows a small time felon who seeks revenge on the men who framed him, and is notable for the protagonist only having one line of dialogue in the whole film. Rourke is likely playing the man who put Butler behind bars so expect him to get tough with Butler. Now that I think about it Butler wouldn't be bad in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For as well. Do it! Mickey Rourke is a great addition to the cast, I can imagine him as a mean villain...now we need a female lead...

I'm **FREAKING OUT** !!! I love Mickey Rourke and have been a long time fan !!! It would be amazing to see them both together !!! Mickey is pretty raw in real life and i actually think Gerry needs someone to shake him up a bit and challenge him ... That would be a great thing to watch on screen too !
