At least with The Bricklayer, there would be a little flirting and a bit of romance in with the action. I can't imagine any of that happening in either HK or TR!!! Gerry NEEDS to have some romance in his movies or that would just be a waste!!! Kneum

He's probably still doing Hunter Killer. I personally rather him do Hunter Killer than Thunder Run...LOL To me it sounds Thunder Run is more like an animated movie where you mostly just hear Gerry but don't see him. It does sound to me like that animated Beowulf movie more than 300 (I think Canadia mentioned that too.) They say it's going to use the Avatar face motion process... I think more like what they used for The Na'vi.... like Zoe Zaldana's character... I have a feeling they want it to look like a computer game and not like real people. Gerry's character may look a bit like Nathan Drake in the Uncharted video games: uncharted.wikia.com/wiki/Nathan_DrakeI much rather see the real Gerry... sigh... though this technique will be an improvement for Matthew's look...LOL and Sam is all too familiar with it already... I think that is the general look they're going for. He looks a lot like Gerry... LOL!!! He does, that's why I picked that. They're going to make that into a real action movie as well. I don't think Gerry is in the running for it though. I wish he would be. It has an Indiana Jones vibe and I like that, Gerry would be fabulous. Kneum, I agree, The Bricklayer would have been perfect for Gerry, just the right mixture of action, drama, a bit of romance, a bit of humor. I hope it's not off the table...sigh.

This is one creepy pic of Matthew McC.... Of course next to Gerry few men look good I can't get excited about this movie. Even though I'm glad that Gerry is busy I much rather see him ACT in a drama or thriller... I would prefer for him to do The Bricklayer than this... Just my opinion, no need to agree. I'm with you on this GA. I'm not quite sure how this film will work, but if it turns out like some sort of animated film I already hate it. I mean, if you have those three actors why not have them in full flesh? I guess G has to pay the bills and this film is one way of doing it. He can still do Hunter Killer. I wouldn't worry about The Bricklayer. I think it is still in his book but if you recall, there was no script when they announced it. They had only agreed to do it based on the book and assigned the task of writing the script to a woman whose name I can't recall. So it may take a while. If everything falls in place, he will do Hunter Killer early in 2012, then Thunder Run then The Bricklayer. Speaking of The Bricklayer, was anyone else who read the book disappointed by the lack of a full blown love making scene (again)? I mean there is potential there and at one point it does look like it's going to happen and then it gets abruptly interrupted. I hope, with the screenwriter being a woman, that this is improved in the film. We finally need that scene in one of G's movies! :-)

extracine.com/2011/10/luz-verde-a-thunder-run-y-the-tombTestosterone risque in "Thunder Run" and "The Tomb" Luis M. Alvarez October 28, 2011, 17:30 «Previous Next» Or "Thunder Run" and "The Tomb" are new projects. If the first one was waiting for an alignment of key actors attractive enough to get the green light, the second has been coveted by some of the highest grossing action actors of recent decades. If "Thunder Run" will be directed by Simon West and will be starring three of the most popular actors of the moment as Gerald Butler, Matthew McConaughey and Sam Worthington, "The Tomb" has not principal, but some of the most popular players in action of the eighties and nineties have been interested in the project that will eventually be played by Sylvester Stallone. New technologies in the Iraq war At Freedom Films must have been studying the most popular projects of the last decade, so have come to the conclusion that the best chance for your project, "Thunder Run" would be in the same movie together the protagonists of "300" Gerald Butler, and "Avatar", Sam Worthington. Although it has never gotten any blockbuster to match the above, we can certainly explain the incorporation of Matthew McConaughey because of its reminder to always be involved in film projects located far to the right ideologically, which should make him one of the Simon West favorite. Ken Nolan - "Black Hawk Down" and "The Company" - and Robert Port - "Numb3rs" - signed a script that is based on a novel by David Zucchino and Mark Bowden. Perhaps what I call the attention of the project is that if the novel is called non-fiction as it looks like it will look like the video game "Call of Duty" as the film is done with facial capture techniques, such as used in "Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3-D", along with the motion capture techniques that were used in "Avatar." If we add 3D cameras to be used and that the sets are built with CGI techniques certainly make sense to the words of one of the producers of the film ensures that it will be the first time that all these techniques are integrated in a single film war. The plot of the film puts us in the beginning of the Iraq war in April 2003 when three battalions and a little less than a thousand men launched a violent group of tanks and other military vehicles in the heart of Baghdad. "Thunder Run" has among its objectives a show not only the reality of front line soldiers, but of modern warfare. An architect lost in his own labyrinth And do not tell me you do not have a little joke that the three stars of "The Expendables 2", directed by Simon West today, spend for being the stars of "The Tomb". Bruce Willis was the first who headed the cast of a film that was to lead Atoine Fuqua, whose last film released is "Broklyn's Finest". But when the star of "Die Hard" is unrelated to the project, Arnold Schzwarzenegger was positioned as ideal actor to star when he announced he left politics. However, if Arny ultimately decided by starring in "The Last Stand", Fuqua also abandoned in favor of "Southpaw". Sylvester Stallone has finally been who has run a project, still without a director, I dare say you walk halfway between "The Rock", "Oldboy" and "Cube", as it focuses on the journey of Ray Breslin, an authority on security structures, which is locked in a prison that he himself designed. The architect will have to try to leave the complex, while trying to discover who has been locked.

That's actually a nice pic of MatthewMcC for a change, he has looked rather creepy lately... Calling Sly "brother" is actually a compliment to Sly... He's old enough to be any of the three other actors' dad.... or ugly uncle... Naw.... no relation at all...

Unfortunately the author of the book died way too early but I think he did finish a second book already and if the movie is going to be successful there could be a sequel and they may keep the full out love making for part 2... But I was very intrigued by the book and not just one lady getting entangled with Gerry's character....

Butler, McConaughey & Worthington Tapped for "Thunder Run" Posted Friday October 28, 2011 4:31 PM GMT Stringing together an all-star ensemble, Gerard Butler, Sam Worthington and Matthew McConaughey have signed on to the CG 3-D action/thriller "Thunder Run." Teaming up their talents for the Simon West film, the trio of Hollywood heavyweights are set to take the lead roles in the big screen adaption of the novel "Thunder Run: The Armored Strike to Capture Baghdad." According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie “aims to recount the capture of Baghdad by American forces at the start of the Iraq War in 2003. The three-day assault was referred as a ‘lightning strike’ or thunder run.'" Set to begin production in 2012, the picture will strive to "paint the harrowing picture of the soldiers on the front lines and the realities of modern warfare.”

www.slashfilm.com/gerard-butler-sam-worthington-matthew-mcconaughey-voicing-simon-westdirected-cgi-film-thunder-run/I am not sure I copied this link to work here. I posted it in the black box. This article makes it sound like Thunder Run is to be marketed soon and they brought in these 3 big actors to help sell it. It may never happen if someone doesn't put up money to make it. My guess is Bricklayer is on for 2012 and this one is questionable. Gerry has been attached to other movies that were questionable and they disappeared. I read the second book after Bricklayer called Agent X. It wasn't as fun but I still enjoyed it a lot. No big sex scene in it but that doesn't mean they can't add something in a movie. In fact, she was upset with him through most of the book and he kept trying to get back in her good graces off and on. I preferred their fun interaction of the first book more. I vote for Bricklayer and the other 2 that are being talked about I am not really sure I want him to do. I agree he needs some roles with a little bit of fun or romance interspersed--Bricklayer is perfect.

You know with two sexy stars they may throw in a full blown love scene at the end.... I just hope they're going to get a couple of good actresses to fill out the two female characters which are both intriguing. I get the feeling as well from that article that Thunder Run is not set in stone and may just disappear... You know, I am happy if Gerry is busy but I wouldn't be sad if this one would disappear because it's just not my cup of tea at all... I'd rather he do something else.

'thunder run'....sounds intereting. anything depicting real life drama is always good esp.if well made. 'brick layer'and 'agent x' (i'll have to check these books out as well)....the other (3) gents starring in this feature would seem like a great chemistry if all their testosterone doesn't melt the LENS!!! yEoW!! i'd have to concur with GA...any drama WITH historical anything with 'fur' and gerry makes me drool.....
