Well he readily admits that he has commitment issues that stem from him father abandoning the family when he was a baby. Gerry also has an addictive personality and tends to do things to extreme, sometimes at a cost. Also he had a hearing problem as a boy and has deafness in one ear.

I don't know if it's complete deafness. I believe, after mastoid infection resulted in surgery, that he was left with just 50% hearing in his right ear. It also left his face sagging slightly and he has a crooked way of talking--he speaks out of the side of his mouth. And, he had has problem with "drop foot" (nerve problems in his foot) from time to time. Started when he was young. It's a nerve damage problem. Gerry has described himself as having a darkness in himself, being prone to depression, and having attention deficit disorder. In the Men's Health interview he said he spends too much time focused himself/in his own head. And, he seems to be in counseling on and off. Also, by his own admission, he is a lousy boyfriend. Old girlfriends seem to prefer him as a pal. He says he drives his girlfriends crazy and he tends to sabotage relationships. So, he's got personal demons just like most of us and has worked hard to be successful despite them. But, he's very much just a person...a person with a really interesting job that gets him a LOT of attention. My two cents.

For many of us it is his flaws and quirks along with all his good qualities thrown together which make him fascinating and inform him as an actor.

Actually his faults are not so different than most of us and I think it makes him more likable in the long run. I met him very, very, very briefly and was able to see him with two children and he loves kids and is drawn to them like a magnet. Really sweet. He is more handsome in person and is really sweet and funny. I was able to observe him from a short distance and I can tell that he loves to make people laugh when he's in a group and he is really animated and a great story teller. The little I saw of him he was the center of attention and was fast with a funny story and there was always laughter when he was around. He is just a naturally funny guy.

It's the talking out the side of his mouth that makes him so sexy ... and he also gives a great crooked smile (a devilish one too that can melt a woman's panties). I didn't know about the drop foot thing, that was new to me ... doesn't change my opinion of the man, it's just part of who he is. I love him because of his attentiveness towards his fans, especially the kids, his ability to laugh even at himself, his awesome acting abilities ... and let's not forget that he looks damn sexy and everytime he takes off his shirt or just shows a scant amount of his chest, I swoon.

you do things on purpose to make them fail because some people get scared when it gets too intense so some people do things to make the other person break it off which is to sabotage your relationships, to ruin things on purpose even though you may not even be aware of it because you are afraid of getting hurt yourself if you let yourself fall too far.......

Some people think his cussing is a fault. I think he is a tad idolized in some circles. I love the fact that he cusses and tells bawdy jokes and barely has a filter from his brain to his mouth.
