www.thaindian.com/newsportal/entertainment/gerard-butler-confident-hed-make-a-good-dad_100349989.htmlI bet Brian wasn't too happy that G thought he wouldn't make a good Dad....who says that about their sibling (even if you may think it, you don't say that sort of stuff in public...oh G with that damn edit button he never uses). He did recover nicely however in Brian's parenting skills however, but If I were Brian I would wonder, why the hell would he think that to start with - what kind of person does he think I am that I would make a crap father?!?!? Maybe, knowing G he was just joking around, but it comes across as like "WTF?"... I know I would be kinda pissed off!

What is also odd that this statement is coming out now. Yes unless G was taken out of context or joking but hey maybe Brian expressed concerns himself to G or for example, I know men who claim to hate kids, can't stand being around them, etc but then they meet the right woman they have kids and they end up being great dads....
I don't know how many marriages break up because the man does not want children and yet what happens next relationship he hooks up with a woman with kids or he had kids with the next woman and ends up being a great dad which must be so painful for the first wife who may still love the guy but the no children was a deal breaker esp if she was not able to find another man before the eggs expired.... when you get married young you might both think you don't want kids but when you get to 30 and others around you are having children you get a different perspective. But I digress.

When you think about it, it is an odd statement to come out when you have half the tabloids saying Jennifer is going to have a baby with Gerry........doesn't this just play into that?

I thought we knew way back when that Rachel and Katie were twins. He said that during the Nims press tour and at the premiere. The girls at the HTTYD premiere are Lynn's daugthers. Nice looking family!

Gerry has an excellent gene pool, he would make such beautiful babies. It does seem that the family genes favor girls over boys, though, so no strapping young laddie who looks like Gerry. Too bad. Then again, I've seen families that only have boy babies and then a girl miraculously appears from one sibling. It can happen.
I'm disappointed that they posted a pic of Jen Aniston, when this article is about Gerry. WTF??

Actually my underestanding is that the male sperm determines the sex of the child so given Lynn's husband is not related to her brother it is not a family trait........
That is why all these cultures that blame the woman when there is not a boy are in fact wrong, in some cultures the woman is killed or beaten or scorned becauses she cannot produce a boy when it is in fact the man's sperm that is the determinant so he should be killed, just kidding
Because the man of course has the sperm that carries both X and Y chromosomes and different factors of course affect the over fertility of the male along with how many swimmers carry each chromosome and how strong the two type of swimmers are........

When Anne Boleyn tried to inform Henry VIII of this fact, he lopped off her noggin.

It's always been dangerous being female eh? Especially if you are required to provide the heir and the spare in the days where only males were acceptable.
The irony is that Elizabeth I was such a good queen. She certainly gave her father some cred he might not have otherwise deserved.
Which reminds me can't wait for the start of the new and last season of The Tudors. Couple more wives to go now.

Though the male ultimately determines the sex of a child I am a firm beliver that the women's body chemistry can make an inhospitable enviroment for one type of sperm over the other.
My case in point. My sister-in-law's husband. His first marriage he had 4 children all girls. With no out side influences he should have had 2 boy 2 girls. Fast forward to his marrige to the sis in law. 4 boys again should have been 2&2
Supposibly one type of sperm thrive in a slightly acidic enviroment the other a basic enviroment. A women with a neutral enviroment are those families that have nearly a 50/50 split.
Hence why some women will douche with vinegar water others baking soda water trying to concieve the opposite gender.

This is the one thing that really bugs me: boys are more important, but if it wasn't for the girls, they wouldn't have babies at all. In China, they are still only allowed one baby per family and most families prefer boys over girls. It's always been said, that if men were the one's who got pregnant, the human population would have died out a long, long time ago, because men cannot stand pain. Okay, I'm done ranting.

And LL because of that one child rule in China and the preference towards boys because of the culture, the younger generation right now has a ratio of 3 boys to every girl......so if you are a girl you got a lot of options very frustrating for the boys though of course objectively speaking that is good for China population wise too, less girls mean less babies next generation, sexually frustrated males on the other hand is not a good thing, they are laxer in allowing 2 children if you pay off the right government official. In Chinese culture the daughter when she marries is considered part of the husband's family and her obligation is to look after his parents, a son of course is obligated to look after his parents whether he marries or not, so that is why they want a son, how about all kids obligated to look after their parents and then no problem........or maybe as the economy modernizes and more women are in the work force with better jobs or making wages as good as the men it will change?
Joy you are right, that is another factor in fertility, but it is not right to blame women for the lack of males, it takes 2 and there are so many factors in fertility and what lead to the sex of a child that come from both sexes, it goes without saying that to blame just the female is so wrong in the cases of cultures where male children are prized more than female.
There are various wives tales perhaps now backed up by science like conceiving at different points of the ovulation cycle increases your chances to have either a boy or girl I remember something about having sex standing up increases your chances of having a girl? I think it is because that the swimmers with the Y chromosome are faster and usually more of them but not strong swimmers, that is why the missionary position assures them easy access LOL, whereas the swimmers with the X chromosome are slower but stronger swimmers and therefore in the standing position they have a better chance of beating the Y swimmers to the egg

The laws in China are not about the Chinese deeming the male to be more important. They are about population control. If you have more than one child of any sex, there is a tax assessed to your family on the addition to your growing family. There is a higher tax on girls, but they also do tax for boys. There are over 1.3 billion people living in China and most of the country is still in poverty, although it has been making incredible strides in developing a middle class due to well...Walmart (but that is an entire different story).
Girls are not looked down on in China more than any other culture. The mid East is entire different story, but having been traveling to China and all over Asia for the better part of 8 years now and having had seen mainland China (not the cities) and worked with the Chinese I understand this culture and have studied it. Its a different world and they have different ways of dealing with almost everything - including how they control the population. Having it be a communist government you do what you are told or else! There is no freedom to challenge the governments decisions to tax your child or stop you from having more children because there is NO WAY you can pay the tax so you are forced to sell you child. Women in China have now readily available DNA centers that they can determine very early on the sex of the child so they can choose to abort if it is a girl due to the consequences.
China's government never looked at the future in what they were doing to their countries population! China in the future years....near future, will be a scary place to visit. There will be extremely high cases of rape, violence and the majority of their MALE population will be homosexual. These are all facts that have been published.
you cannot win against Mother Nature!

A friend of my daughters in school was a little Chinese girl. Her parents were both born and lived most of their lives in China. They had a son who was college age and their daughter was in second grade. They evidently had her in the US after they moved from China. I said to the mom, "Aren't you glad you had your girl?" and she smiled and nodded. Little girl wouldn't have been born had they staying in China. About man tampering with Mother Nature... you are right. It is always a disaster! US Bull Frogs sent to Australia (nightmare). There is some kind of foreign muscle in the Great Lakes that was planted here and it is an absolute nightmare. Then in Kentucky and other places in the south deal with the Kudzu Vine that covers everything.. another import. Anyway back to subject. Gerry would be a great dad, but his lifestyle... Can he settle down? It would be a huge lifestyle change for him.
