I have to admit that seeing Gerry as a leprechaun doesn't seem to thrill me... that being said, I will go to see this because I think it will be hilarious and Gerry will get to swear as much as he wants. I love hearing Gerry say f**k, I don't know why, but it turns me on. With any other man, I would consider it vulgar, but Gerry gets a pass because he's... well, Gerry.

Gerard Butler could be seen playing a cheeky leprechaun in an upcoming all-star fantasy movie. The Scottish actor will be digitally shrunk for the as-yet-untitled film.
The film boasts a strong starcast, including Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet and Naomi Watts. And the plot sees Butler''s character being kidnapped by Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott''s on-screen baddies, who want to steal his treasure.
"I play the most perverse, disturbing, disgusting, foul-mouthed leprechaun you could ever imagine . I''ve been kidnapped by Johnny and Seann so they can get their pot of gold. But they don''t quite realise what they''ve bargained for,”
This movie is going to be something... OMG!!!

I know LL I love the way he says it too, it's the accent - when he told those girls for fuck off and then get a fucking life I had to keep replaying it because it sounded do sexy though I did not like to see him annoyed like that......for some reason he does not say Shite most of the time, I love it when Ewan McGregor says Shite or any Scottish or Irish person says Shite, I tend to use it myself it sounds less vulgar

Jackman in ballsy new role Hugh Jackman is to take on a risque new role in the latest offering from Peter Farrelly - he will play a man whose testicles are attached to his chin. The X-Men hunk will take on the role for laughs in just one scene of the as-yet-untitled upcoming film from the writer/director, who is one half of the moviemaking duo known as The Farrelly Brothers, with his sibling Bobby. According to Australia's Sydney Daily Telegraph, Jackman will play the unfortunate man, who goes out on a date with a bemused Kate Winslet. The date will make up just one of 17 segments in the new venture, which will feature an ensemble cast including Gerard Butler, Naomi Watts, Justin Long and Sam Rockwell. jam.canoe.ca/Movies/2010/04/08/13511566-wenn-story.html

17 directors … and they can’t even come up with a title Posted on Thu, 15/04/2010 @ 10:49 by: Angela Burton Twenty comedic shorts all lovingly bundled into a feature film with the likes of Elizabeth Bank, Griffin Dunne, Peter Farrelly, Brett Ratner and Bod Odenkirk directing and starring Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Gerard Butler, Elizabeth Banks, Naomi Watts, Live Schreiber, Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, Matt Walsh, Tony Shalhoub, Kieran Culkun, Patrick Warburton and Kick-Ass supes Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz together again. Mintz-Plasse spoke to New York magazine promoting Kick-Ass which hits US cinemas this Friday (check out our review here) and mentioned his next project that just so happens to be a segment in Untitled Comedy, “I got to work with Chloe in the same one…It's about the first time a 12-year-old girl gets her period and she's with three gross guys. None of them know what to do, because none of them have ever been around a period stain before. It's just very dirty and silly and stupid and lots of fun…Elizabeth Banks directed it.” This isn’t the first time a movie has brought in multiple directors to take on an area each. The latest anthology films of this kind were Paris, Je t’aime and New York, I Love You but the film is likely to have more in common with wildly popular comic anthologies like The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) and Amazon Women on the Moon (1987). Promoting Paper Man, Emma Stone has also spilled the beans on her short and The Catch. Stone stars alongside Kieran Culkin and their short was directed by Griffin Dunne. “Well, all of the stories are completely different … I think they’re going to tie them together; I don’t know how. I can’t give it away, but theirs (Jackman/Winslet) is called The Catch. He’s a bachelor….but there’s a catch. She’s going on a date with this bachelor, and you will not believe what you see when you see it. It’s so fucking funny. It’s so funny. And then Kieran and I are exes, and I’ve come to return his…toys. He’s working at a grocery store — on the night shift — and we have this very intense exchange. They’re all these five-minute shorts. You’ll really like it.” Although Stone pointedly avoids giving away the catch, MovieLine revealed that Hugh “Jackman’s (SPOILER) balls are located under his chin. And no one ‘sides Winslet seems to notice/care.” (SPOILER ENDS) According to Deadline Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media has signed on to co-finance the comedy after recently becoming available from Overture. Producing is Charles Wessler and GreenStreet Films’ John Penotti. Wessler has been trying to push the film for a while with Paramount attached at one point until campaigner Tipper Gore decided this wasn’t a family values type of thing and had the production head can it. Overture then picked it up but it has landed in Relativity Media’s hands after money woes. www.indiemoviesonline.com/news/17-directors-and-they-cant-even-come-up-with-a-title-150410

www.theage.com.au/national/melbourne-life/apprentices-nearmortal-cut-20100425-tlp9.htmlApprentice's near-mortal cut KARL QUINN April 26, 2010 A Hollywood bigshot's offer on an Australian's dark-comedy screenplay was nearly killed in cyberspace. FORCE of habit very nearly cost Steve Baker his big break. The winner of the 2007 Tropfest short film competition was name-dropped by John Polson - Tropfest founder, actor and director - when a major Hollywood producer asked if he knew of any up-and-coming talent. Charles Wessler, co-producer of the Farrelly brothers' high-grossing gross-out comedies Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal and There's Something about Mary, took Polson at his word, and sent Baker an email. "Trouble is, it went straight into the 'junk' box,'' says Baker. ''I was about to hit 'Delete all', as I normally do, when I saw this 'Looking for screenplays' subject heading and thought, 'Hang on a second.''' Though based in Sydney, Baker is in Melbourne this week to co-direct, with fellow Australian Damon Escott, the short film whose screenplay he sent to Wessler in 2008. It's called The Apprentice, a dark comedy being shot in an abandoned hospital with Shane ''Kenny'' Jacobson, Colin ''Lano'' Lane and rising American star Anton Yelchin among the cast. It's one of 17 short films being shot here and in the US for producers Wessler and Peter Farrelly (who is also directing two of them) for inclusion in an as-yet-untitled portmanteau feature. With a budget of about $5 million, the 90-minute feature is at the super-cheap end for Hollywood. Despite that, it has attracted a big-name cast, with Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Sam Rockwell and Gerard Butler among them. The Australians in The Apprentice are playing Americans, as the nine-minute short (the longest in the film) is the only portion not being made there. ''I wanted it to be Australian, but I was convinced by people in marketing departments that it's easier to sell if it's perceived as being American, so I went along with that,'' says Wessler. The Apprentice is set in a morgue, with Jacobson as the head mortician and Yelchin (Chekov in J. J. Abrams's Star Trek movie and Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation) as the apprentice mortician. The filmmakers aren't revealing details of its plot, but they do drop some hints about what to expect. ''It's quite extreme and twisted,'' says Baker. ''But it is a comedy.'' ''We want that moment where people cover their eyes but leave their fingers open,'' adds Wessler, citing by way of comparison Cameron Diaz's infamous hair-gel scene in Mary. Wessler says he and Peter Farrelly intended making 32 short films and culling them to get the best 20 or so - because in 18 years of making movies together they've found ''about a third of what we shoot just isn't funny, even if we think it's hilarious''. But, funnily enough, the studio didn't like the idea. ''They said, 'Wait a minute: we're going into this knowing we're going to throw 10 of these away? That doesn't make any sense. Let's try it the other way,''' says Wessler. Ever the master of comic timing, he waits a beat, then adds: ''We were both right.''

Seems Richard Branson has started up his own film production company called Virgin Produced and he has partnered up with Relativity, the production company owned by Gerry's friend Ryan Kavanaugh and their first joint project is going to be the untitled Farelly film starring Gerard and a large cast of who whos in Hollywood Richard Branson Venture's Virgin Film Has Raunchy Laughs, Lotta Stars By MIKE FLEMING | Friday July 30, 2010 @ 5:24pm EDT The first film that gets Richard Branson's Virgin Produced film shingle off the tarmac--it was innocuously mentioned as an untitled Peter Farrelly film in the announcement of Branson's joint venture with Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity--has a bigger concentration of first class cabin-caliber actors than any under-$8 million film I can remember. And the cast is still growing. Deadline was first to reveal the Kentucky Fried Movie-style laffer when Kavanaugh replaced Overture Films as financier and the film started production. They had a good cast then, but the filmmakers keep bolstering by showing prospective talent the raucous segments shot so far, especially the Farrelly-directed seg with Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet that is especially outrageous and R-rated. Aside from Jackman and Winslet, the cast now includes Richard Gere, Anton Yelchin, Gerard Butler, Naomi Watts, Anna Faris, Johnny Knoxville, Julianne Moore, Liev Schreiber, Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Bell, Kate Bosworth, Josh Duhamel, Justin Long, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, Jack McBrayer, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Uma Thurman. 14 segments are in the can, with 5 to go. Steve Brill, Steve Carr and James Gunn have joined a director roster that already had Peter and Bobby Farrelly, Brett Ratner, Banks and Griffin Dunne. The pic, a co-production between Greene Street and Relativity, is produced by Kavanaugh, John Penotti, Peter Farrelly and Charlie Wessler. Tim Williams and Tucker Tooley are exec producers. Richard Branson to Launch Film & TV Production Company ichard Branson is getting into the film business. The mogul announced on Friday the launch of Virgin Produced, a film and television development company that’s billed as a joint venture between Virgin and Relativity Media’s Rogue Pictures. Virgin Produced will be based in Los Angeles and run by Jason Felts (pictured above left) and Justin Berfield (right), a pair of former J2 producers -- Felts will serve as chief executive, Berfield the chief creative officer. (Berfield, you may recall, played the older brother on Fox's "Malcolm in the Middle.") In addition to developing and producing original films, Virgin will co-produce "two to three" movies a year with Relativity/Rogue. The deal will allow the studio to “utilize Virgin’s marketing capabilities to reach millions of consumers within the Virgin and Rogue target audience.” First up is an untitled comedy from Peter Farrelly. Here’s the statement from Branson: “Entertainment has long been a focus of the Virgin brand, and I’m excited for the chance to further grow in this space. Jason and Justin’s approach is very entrepreneurial, very Virgin. We share a passion for creating and nurturing communities of talent and fresh material. The Rogue and Virgin brands seem an obvious fit for each other.” * Wrap Exclusive: Virgin Megastores to Close in U.S., CEO Simon Wright Confirms Felts: “At Virgin Produced, we look to break some old molds while providing talent a place where they know their work will be embraced and supported. With Rogue’s boundary breaking approach and Virgin’s entrepreneurial strength, the brands are perfectly suited for each other.” And one from Relativity CEO Ryan Cavanaugh: “We believe that their approach to film is suited to do just that and pairing the Virgin and Rogue brands together to create innovation couldn’t be more natural.” www.thewrap.com/movies/article/richard-branson-launch-film-tv-production-company-19722

Massive Untitled Comedy Goes To Virgin? We’re one step closer to seeing that massive comedy collaboration with Richard Gere, Anton Yelchin, Gerard Butler, Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Anna Faris, Johnny Knoxville, Julianne Moore, Liev Schreiber, Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Bell, Kate Bosworth, Josh Duhamel, Justin Long, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, Jack McBrayer, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Uma Thurman. As reported by Deadline, the untitled comedy now belongs to Richard Branson’s latest business endeavor, the new production company Virgin Produced. The film will consist of 19 segments, 14 of which have been shot. Each piece comes from a different director like Steve Brill, Steve Carr, James Gunn, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, Brett Ratner, Banks and Griffin Dunne. Virgin has a deal with Relativity Media to distribute their films, but Relativity is also co-financing this one. Could this get any better? Apparently it can. Deadline is also saying that the stellar roster is continuing to grow. The portion the Farrelly brothers directed with Jackman and Winslet is already in the can, so it’s being peddled around to pull in even more talent. That segment is being described as “especially outrageous and R-rated.” Lastly, a Variety article discussing the launch of Branson’s packaging and production company is calling this film Movie 43. Did the untitled comedy finally get a name? It’s possible, but this is the first I’ve heard of it. Actually, it’s not, but the only other article I found using that title includes details that don’t quite correlate with the facts we have. In a Slash Film piece about Relativity’s new streaming deal with Netflix, one of the film’s on the list to hit Netflix and not a premium television channel is “Movie 43, written and directed by Peter Farely.” Spelling error aside, if they’re talking about the same film here, where are the names of the other directors? The press release also states that the film is set to hit theaters this year. With five more segments to film? I doubt it. www.shockya.com/news/2010/07/31/massive-untitled-comedy-goes-to-virgin-produced-and-gets-a-name/

Or at least one of the world premiere. Larger movies tend to open in both the US and London these days. Gerry of coursed opened LAC and The Bounty Hunter in Berlin.

News – The Notable Films of 2011: Part Nine Movie 43 Opens: 2011 Cast: Too Many To Name Director: Too Many To Name Summary: An anthology comedy made up of several different short film sketches linked by a common unifying thread. Analysis: A huge number of big stars are coming together for this R-rated anthology movie made up of short stand alone segments - think along the lines of 1970's comedies like "Kentucky Fried Movie" or dramas like "Coffee and Cigarettes" and "Paris, je t’aime". Originally set up at Overture Films, that company dumped it which lead to Relativity Media picking it up (shortly after Relativity bought Overture Films themselves), and a meeting with producers led to a revamp of the central premise. There will apparently be a unifying storyline for this series of sketches, though details on what that is hasn't been revealed yet. What details have leaked indicate the segments really don't seem to have a common unifying thread. One sketch has Gerard Butler as a perverse and foul-mouthed leprechaun kidnapped by Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott who want to steal his pot of gold. Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet shot their segment entitled "The Catch" in just one day in New York City with Peter Farrelly directing. Halle Berry was spotted donning a giant pair of prosthetic lips for her segment "Truth or Dare" which is apparently about "a career driven woman who is set up to take the fall for corporate embezzlement after her sexy college friend from Las Vegas drops back into her life". Not sure how the big lips fit in with that description. Another sketch is "Robin's Big Speed Date", a follow-up to the 2006 comedy short "Robin's Big Date" in which Batman's sidekick Robin (Justin Long) tries to go on a date without The Bat-Man (Sam Rockwell) tagging along and ruining the evening. Long will reprise his role though Rockwell couldn't fit it into his schedule so Jason Sudeikis will play Batman. The same short also has Bobby Cannavale as Superman, Uma Thurman as Lois Lane, Kristen Bell as Supergirl, Leslie Bibb as Wonder Woman and John Hodgman as The Penguin. At current reports, other cast members include Elizabeth Banks, Jimmy Bennett, Leslie Bibb, Kate Bosworth, Kieran Culkin, Josh Duhamel, Anna Faris, Richard Gere, Aasif Mandvi, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Moretz, Liev Schreiber, Tony Shalhoub, Emma Stone, Patrick Warburton, Naomi Watts, and even Snooki from "Jersey Shore". The director's list is also suitable impressive including Elizabeth Banks, Steven Brill, Steve Carr, Rusty Cundieff, James Duffy, Griffin Dunne, Patrik Forsberg, James Gunn, Bob Odenkirk and Brett Ratner. No specific release date has yet been set, though there's talk of a late Summer bow. www.darkhorizons.com/news/19087/the-notable-films-of-2011-part-nine

TEST POST (since I got a shoulder tap and "gentle reminder" for not putting my post on its corresponding page ). Sorry if it's a repeat. The actual "storyline" for Movie 43 -- collider.com/farrelly-brothers-interview-three-stooges-movie-43/76165/On what is Movie 43 about and how did it come together, Peter says: “Movie 43 is the brain child of Charlie Wessler, who produces lots of our movies. Basically, he wanted to do a Kentucky Fried Movie type of movie with a bunch of shorts, but we didn’t want to do one that was just one short after another with no connection. So, what Movie 43 is, is that kind of movie with a wrap-around and the wrap-around is two 15-year-old stoners and their 11-year-old egghead brother/computer whiz, who are trying to find the elusive Movie 43. It’s the most banned movie in the world. It was banned in all countries because it’s so subversive. They have heard about it and they are trying to find it on the Internet. They keep breaking into other banned sites and movie archives, and finding these other shorts. After every two or three movies, you come back to these kids who are still looking, but someone is trying to stop them from finding Movie 43 and that starts turning. So, there is a plot within the shorts. We have something happening in the wrap-around. He goes on to say the film was made for $5 million, it’s a hard R, and the cast is made up of Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman, Richard Gere, Naomi Watts, Halle Berry, Stephen Merchant, Johnny Knoxville, Emma Stone, Chloe Moretz, and many more." One of the omitted "many more" = Gerard Butler as a kidnapped foul-mouthed leprechaun. Release date: Aug 26, 2011
