Okay now you got be interested in this Outlander thing - now didn't Jim Kaveziel do a movie called Outlander something about a alien dropped on earth and lands in the middle of fighting Vikings or is that something else You should read the books, they're awesome... but beware, you will find yourself under the spell of Jamie Fraser. He is still my favorite character in a book (Joe Morelli and Ranger come in at a close second (a tie! They're both sexy) from the Plum series)

Canadia -- if you can get Netflix, Gerry's Beowulf is one of the many movies that come with the whole set-up. I've watched it once already and we just signed up! I believe Reign of Fire is also in the line-up.
Yes, I highly recommend the Outlander series. I was lucky enough to get the first six books at my local used book store - all 6 for under $25!!

Sunday, August 8, 2010 The Bounty Hunter(post-viewing rant) Two words. Alpha Male. These two words describe the UK novelty that is Gerard Butler. He is the modern day King Leonidas(who was an alpha male himself). The plot's pretty predictable. Ex-wife who drove the ex-hubby crazy is now on the run because of felony and the ex-husband is out for revenge to get even with ex-wife and to collect bounty money. You know, that type of story. Post-Brad Pitt Jennifer Aniston still seemed hot even in her 40's. And Mr. Butler? He is a prime alpha male specimen. I feel kinda' puny and weak when I see this guy. The only bad thing is that Gerard still chose to take on a role with his thick English accent(or Scottish or Irish or whatever. Clearly shows his non-versatility. Though I give him kudos to the fact that he's tryin' his hand at comedy and pokin' a li'l fun on himself. That's the way to go Gerard. Expand your horizons for more film offers! syd420.blogspot.com/2010/08/bounty-hunterpost-viewing-rant.html

Oh, please!! Gerry did a fine job of NOT having his Scottish (not English or Irish) accent, although I caught a few minor slips here and there. This "writer" is not familiar with Gerry, to be sure!!

HA! agreed. but, honestly i did hear the 'brogue' peek through now and again (smile)....that slight sound just 'adds' to any character he plays, really. 'Bounty Hunter' had a some hysterical lines...esp. the gum snapping redhead back at the office ("can i get my gum back?") .....the storyline was interesting, quirky, reminiscent of 'mr. & mrs. smith' though a much lighter version. HA! 'everybody's a critic'- geesh ...i promise..... i will sit and watch ANY film gerry's in...regardless.... just b/c i 'like' gerry's acting style....his personafication.... do i see where the director couldn't made 'other' turns to rev it up, mete it out? yup. the ending? hmmm, lemme see...kissing behind and in between the bars....gave the sense even though this couple agree to rekindle their flame you KNOW there will always be those proverbial 'bars' between them...'thorn in the side' type tension/conflict....the pain that 'hurts so good'?

I thought this movie was funny and quirky and probably what's getting him more noticed now (this one and TUT). I have gotten more people recognizing Gerry when they see my button on my photo lab coat now than when I first started being a fan. A lot of women have remarked on how handsome and sexy he is, even some of the teens who used to say "Gerry who?"

Here's a Spanish interview I found in case we don't have it already. Love how he refers to his run in with the pap in 2008 and the prospects of TBH getting an Oscar. :-) www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiReMunkyo0&NR=1Theresa

It's all that blue plaid shirt's fault that Gerry was forced to wear through out this movie!!! Thanks Shellie, who originally posted this in the c-box.www.moviejungle.com/Articles/The_Bounty_Hunter_Leads_Razzie_Awards_Shortlist.htmlThe Bounty Hunter, Killers, Sex and the City 2 make Razzie Awards ShortlistPosted on 01/04/2011 by Steve Ramos [The Bounty Hunter, Killers, Sex and the City 2 make Razzie Awards Shortlist ] The Razzie Awards announced their short list of films competing for the worst picture of 2010. According to The Los Angeles Times, “worst movie” candidates up for nomination on Jan. 24 include The Bounty Hunter, Killers, Sex and the City 2, Little Fockers, The Last Airbender, Grown Ups, The Expendables, Clash of the Titans, Vampires Suck, Yogi Bear and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Writer John Wilson, who manages the Razzies, also announced a new Razzies category, worst misuse of 3D with Piranha 3D and The Nutcracker 3D and Resident Evil: Afterlife on the shortlist in the debut category. Angelina Jolie, who laughed upon hearing the news of her Best Actress Golden Globes nomination in the Comedy or Musical category for The Tourist, was also named on the Razzie short list for worst actress for the same performance. No word from Jolie if she laughed about her Razzie mention. Look for the final list of Razzie nominees Jan. 24.

I'm surprised Eclipse got a Razzie award, that one was better than even New Moon (and before it, Twilight), more special effects and that fight scene. I wasn't surprised to see Grown-Ups on the list or Vampires Suck, but I had heard nothing but good things about The Expendables. I thought The Bounty Hunter was a cute movie and I stand by my opinion (of course, it didn't hurt to have Gerry parading around in just a towel for that one scene )

There were some moments in the film that fell flat for me like that scene where they are at the gas station and Milo was trying to make her feel jealous by talking about another woman ... it sounded juvenile and petty. It did have funny moments in it and excellent eye candy!! That alone was worth it.

over Christmas celebration i received a 2 pack goodie in my stocking : BH & LAC....and, yes would certainly agree...jennifer and gerry do have on-camera chemistry but it def. came up short on this rom/com/action film...both acters are very physical people and heady comedic too. i wish that were drawn out more so in the script. (shrugs) you win some & you loose some. script IS everything....regardless of how good the darn story is....how its put together is vital...editing is key too! i think the question is...are we looking at 'world peace' stuff OR are we talking 'entertainment'? was this movie entertaining? did it make us laugh? squirm? sit forward? sit back? did it have the quality to encourage viewers to want more? personally, as a gerry fan...i expect him in 'the best' ALL THE TIME. is this really fair of me? probably not. i guess i'm in 'this' for the long haul....the good, the bad, the ugly
