Hi there !
This is an interview of Gerard i found at my archives yesterday.
I remember saving it for make the translation later, yet sorry, i'm not sure where i got it from exept the fact that it was definitely on Greek press and probably on a male site or magazine:
Well, here it is :
The new hunk of Hollywood: Sexy, well built, good actor yet also emotional and a womanizer. He h succeeded in combining characters that can’t be together in first sight:
The blockbuster hero in the masterpiece “300”, the underground scoundrel in the excellent “Rocknrolla” and the romantic hero in the equally fine “Ugly truth”.
Seems absolute sensible to me that women all around the world are swooning over him.
Read his thoughts and try to copy some his lines – he got some pretty ones.
Outward Butler speaks about inward Gerard.
Deep inside I keep a lone side. Those who don’t know me well, aren’t able to see it, because I’m often very funny, easy going and sociable. Nevertheless, I like to spend a lot of time on my own. I like to travel with my mind without a certain destination. I always felt this is a kind of escape.
A job with benefits
One of the greatest privileges on being an actor is that you are able in any given time to affect people, to make them think about their own life, to make them laugh or cry, to make them deeply comprehend something. Or, you simply can make them feel something, for I believe most of us – me included- are wasting our time without really “feeling” something, you know what I mean?
About the alienation of a citizen of the world.
I have so far three houses in three different cities – which one should I call “home” ?
Meanwhile I’m sounding so very “Yankee” that I literally freak out…. The other day, I had an interview and I spoke about football and I mention it “soccer” as in US and I went totally nuts. However, when I go back home in Glasgow to see my family, I always go at Starbucks and order a coffee in my most rough Scottish accent, just to get myself in the mood again.
About wounds forever unhealed…
I had a rough time not knowing where my father was…not knowing if he was even alive. He came up suddenly one fine day when I was 16 years old.
About the love life of a Hollywood idol
Now, every possible date of me will be out on the papers the very next day. However I would be a liar if I told you that my sexual life is perfect right now….in fact it’s pretty miserable.
About the mask we all wear when unhappy:
During some of my most unhappy periods of my life, people thought I was in fact very content. Now that I’m truly happy, fortunately I don’t have to make a show out of it.
About what happens in Hollywood market:
Generally speaking I don’t quite like remakes, yet I think this is due to Hollywood cynicism, where remakes are made purely for advertisement.
About his struggle to study and be a useful man in society:
I never quite “had it” as a lawyer. Even now, I never read the contracts – I just sign them!
About his investment in other’s heart.
No matter what you have been through and how much have you suffer, when there is real love, everything could turn all right.
Well, in closer inspection parts of the interview seem vaguely famiiar. Perhaps the interviewer has make a " new" interview using parts of other older ones - OR it is Gerard giving similar answers in similar questions !
