Some of you may not know about Kids Kicking Cancer, the organization that Gerry supports. This is the same organization that is sponsoring the Date With Gerry contest on GB.net. Here is a story that was posted on GB.net in 2007, which illustrates Gerry's connection to KKC. It should be noted that this was NEVER publicized. The Rabbi sent it to GB.net and it was posted on the KKC website, but there was never a press release. It is my belief that MOST of Gerry's charity connections are under the radar. So read this and know that the tabloid picture of who Gerard Butler is, is NOT the truth about this man. Know also that as a fan YOU support someone wonderful. A Tale of Two Heroes www.gerardbutler.net/news/news_main.php?Action=Full&NewsID=2654(I can only post the link and not the whole article, as this is an exclusive on the .net site) Swannie

That was so beautiful and so touching... as if I needed another reason to love and respect this man.

That was so touching... Especially because a friend of mine lost his battle today, he died from an unknown cancer. He was just 37.
Hope he won his war too.

yesterday i visited gb.net to peruse around and take a peek at the 'dinner date with gerry & 'kids kicking cancer' charity benefit. when i first read this article of how gerry called this young lad right before he died and spoke to this boy about how heroic & inspirational he was. it really warmed up my heart even more so toward mr. B.
i'm so sorry this boy didn't make it and was overcome by the awful, awful disease. (KERI i'm sorry for the loss of your friend as well)
gb.net as well as gbgals are WONDERFULLY humanitarian fan groups. they really 'pay it forward' on behalf of gerry. doing wonderfully sweet good works and through this added effort, hopefully we'll get one step closer to eradicating cancer.
yet, if nothing else, make life a little more memorable which is half the battle to complete health...the human spirit to be lifted up & given hope for a better day.
