He does look great and he deserves a nice vacation. I recognise the one actress he's with, Natasha (whatever her name is) is on Californication. The really pretty gal with the high cheek bones.

Gerry is a hyperactive kind of guy and I think he has always been this way. He loves to be on the go and meet people. I’m pretty sure he got an invite to this event and everything is on the house so to speak. Once his tour to publicize LAC is over I’m sure he will go beneath the radar for a bit. But even going beneath the radar will no doubt involve keeping himself busy and active, that's just the way he is.

He has been on the downlow for a couple of weeks now, since he started the week leading up to SNL. This is a pit stop on his way to Germany and then Scotland. Did anyone notice they have Burns on his IMDb page?!?!?! ..Ok....that is a differnt topic! Anyway, getting to the party and limelight discussion...girls, this is all part of his job. Being an actor means being a celebrity - some actors can pretend to be above that, but if you are a power in this industry, you are both a movie star/celebrity. There are few actors around anymore that don't use these occassions to network. This is nothing new in Hollywood - Hepburn, Davis, Newman, McQueen, Grant...all of them were at parties. The big exception now however is the media and most importantly the internet in which now we see these pics surface immediately for all of the fans to see and speculate on in real time. Back in the day, these parties took place, but they were captured by the Hollywood press photogs and put in the standard Hollywood circulation rags...the likes of Hollywood Daily or Variety and many other publications that have since gone bye bye. The resorts like this one and Atlantis in Dubai pay celebs like G and other names to attend to get publicity for their grand opening. G meantimes gets some exposure, which is part of the deal in being an actor these days. You must keep your name, your image in the present or your'll be forgotten awfully quick! He also gets to mingle with people and friends in the business and actually this helps him link to other projects - networking is important to everyone in any career and especially in this one! Guy Richie is there for instance, Richie is now casting a new film - an action hero flick of some sort - in which many are suggesting G be the lead. Not saying G wants that film or even Richie is considering him, but it's an example of how this all works. Not many actors can afford to sit at home and not attend these parties. It's expected that he does and I am sure his PR team line them up knowing what will be a good appearance for him. G got to where he is today with alot of hard work and connections. He is handsome and talented, but there a many handsome talented actors in this world. He stands out with his personality and that gentle yet wild way about him which he showcases at events like this. Actually, Alan Horn the studio head of Warner Bros is the one that told Zack Snyder to interview G for 300. Alan met G at a Oscar party and said there was a presence about him. That doesn't happen if G is in NYC watching TV. Although this does not seem like work to most of us, to him it is probably a damn drag. In this cae, he looks pretty bored and a bit tired, to me anyway. I am sure he cannot wait to get Germany and showcase his film and then head off to Scotland to relax and start preproduction on Burns - his dream project. Actually Burns is a perfect example..without this type of party smoozhing, it would almost have been impossible for G to be at the level he is at and get films like Burns even made. I don't see how these events are bad for him in any way...the man does not do drugs or drink he is not there for that crap, he is there to rub elbows, acquaint with old and make new friends and of course flirt. G is 99.9% of the time is working to see what he can do to get ahead. I guess my point is, the man is Driven NOT Distracted!!!!! He has goals and dreams and this party, as silly as you might think, is just another link in the chain to getting G to where he wants to be!

This is work for Gerry as fun as it may be.... He may complain about the paps but when the paps quit following him is when the true complaining will begin. Gerry is a hyper guy.. that is obvious but who really knows how much he really likes to live out of a suit case. We can only guess, but it is part of his job. I do hair... so unlike what Gerry does, but there are things about my profession I like and things I don't like.... It's no different for G. Think about what you all do for a living including homemaker. This is not all party for him. Gerard Butler is shrewd this is as much a working vacation as a pleasurable one.

Here’s my take, he wouldn’t do any of this if he didn’t want to. This is the way he rolls. Go to any of the major GB web sites and there are photos of him going back to 2001 of him going to premiers. Sometimes these things are more business then pleasure. But he’s not Johnny Depp or Sean Penn and is not getting the sort of roles that those 2 guys get. So he works these events like a politician. In Hollywood it all comes down to who you know in order to get access to the A list film roles and Gerry did not have the advantages of George Clooney, who started out with show business connections and had one of the most successful TV series of the 1990’s to build on. Gerry had to build his own foundation brick by brick often stuck in mediocre film roles. 300 gave him high exposure but even that didn’t give him access to the best films. He still has to work his butt off networking on behalf of his production company. So this event is likely a bridge between the US publicity tour for LAC and the build up to the European debut of LAC. And although he may have been tired from jet lag, there may have been opportunities for him to get some down time as well at a lush and swank resort, particularly since everything is likely paid for and not one dime is coming out of his pocket.
