Without doubt the most handsome, charming, friendly, kind, funny AND gorgeous visitor that we have had here at Skydog Sanctuary recently. Mr Gerard Butler came to hang out with some of our mustangs in Malibu. Remarkably he is very comfortable around horses having ridden in a few of his movies and even ridden some of our wild ones on trail in Los Angeles. One of the biggest goals of our sanctuary is to raise awareness and educate people about these incredible horses so it means the world for us to have such supportive and generous friends.

Frankie and Johnny may well be the luckiest donkeys on earth. Pulled from a Kill Pen in Waco Texas they spent close to three months in Reata Equine Hospital with Pneumonia and other serious illnesses that nearly took their lives. But this story had the happiest of endings when our friend Gerard Butler offered to sponsor and adopt them so they came to Malibu where they are getting kissed on and loved by everyone that meets them. They truly are the sweetest animals. There are so many wonderful donkeys in kill pens across the US that deserve their happy ending and I hope this will raise awareness for all the not so lucky ones......THANK YOU to everyone who helped save them and get them here, especially Mr Butler

As it's Christmas we wanted to take a look back at all of this year's posts and see which you liked the best and which got shared the most. There was one post that got over 120 thousand views SO we thought we would give you some new photographs to keep you warm on this special day. It is 3 degrees here at Skydog Oregon and the snow is on the ground so for everyone else that is having a snowy cold christmas here is something to warm you up ! Gerard Butler has been such an amazing friend to us this year and has come and visited many times and spends a lot of time with the rescued horses at Skydog Malibu. If everybody that likes and shares this post can LIKE Skydog Sanctuary that would be the best Christmas Present for us in return. We love saving mustangs and keeping them safe and the incredible people we have had come visit us this year have helped so much in raising awareness and spreading the word about the plight of our wild horses and of the inhumane horse slaughter of american mustangs across the border in Canada and Mexico. This day was especially cool for us as apparently Gerard's charm works on wild mares as well and he actually managed to get Hunter, who is completely unhandled and very shy of most people, eating out of his hand - literally. The special feeling of winning over a horse's trust who has most likely not had the best experience with people is just amazing and I think these pictures show the joy that is felt when that connection is made. Thank you Gerry for being our friend and supporting us and thank you to everyone following and donating and loving what we are doing......Merry Christmas to you all x
