Damn i be if i know what's the right thread for it, so i'll start a new one, nevertheless! I was reading about the new rumored comedy with Jennifer Aniston, and somehow, pictures of the old Hollywood came to my mind, especially concerning the couples Catherine Hepburn - Spencer Tracey or Cary Grant- Catherine Hepburn. Someone on IMDb spoke about a rom- com like " The Philadelphia Story" and then it poped at my mind.. Does anyone remember the classic "My man Godfrey" with Carol Lombard ? Wouldn't it be a marvellous idea for Gerard and let's say Gwineth Paltrow or Renee Zelwegher ? He would be so good in the role of the reformed tramp ! (Imagine first seeing him in those buggie clothes of him with scruff and all and then clean shaven in Armani suit...Heaven! )

Never seen that movie but I thiught Gerry would be good in a movie like What Women Want. Could you see him acting tormented by hearing women's thoughs and the when he realized his "Gift"

Not a bad idea, yet i guess it's too soon to make a remake of it.... It has been less than 10 years since the first movie released .
I guess some old black/white Hollywood movies are more likely to be remade.

aww I love My Man Godfrey. That was a great movie. I'm a sucker for old black and white movies anyway. I think he'd be good in some of the old Cary Grant roles. Like maybe a remake of Arsenic and Old Lace.

I'm not saying that Renee Zellwegger isn't a great actress, but I can see Gweneth in this role more than Renee. Off topic: this messageboard has become smiliepalooza. Woohoo! I love them all!

I know, i know, Gwyneth could portray so marvelously the "cold aristocratic" side of the heroine who is nevertheless spoiled enough with this man toy of her. Yet, i have to admit i have a soft spot for Renee' cause i think she's great in slapstick comedy!

I love My man Godfrey! William Powell is awesome. I loved him in the Thin man movies. Even though I like Paltrow and Renee, I can't see them playing Carol's part. Now Reese would be good. She is small and funny, have ya'll seen 4 Christmases. She was funny in that.
I could soooo see her doing the snob wild thing like in Sweet Home Alabama. That was good too. GB would be a good Godfrey. As long as he didn't have the accent. It was an American classic. He would have to fake it to make it....LMAO
