A comment from our Russian sisters "Maybe this meeting with Gibson is not accidental? Mel Gibson is a project about the Vikings, tentatively called "berserk» (Berserker). Planned for the lead role of Leonardo DiCaprio, but he refused. Maybe our eyes turned to the boy? Who is the best in the world viking?? Certainly our Gerry!!" blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/mel-gibson-says-no-to-lethal-weapon-5-but-berserker-still-moving-forward-will-be-in-english-sort-of-20120813" In an interview with ComingSoon, Gibson revealed that his long-developing Viking movie "Berserker" is still in the works, and offered up a couple more details about the flick. "....I believe it's going forward. I've talked to actors and stuff, and there are some good names attached who want to do it," he said, while elaborating on previous reports that it would take a page from "Apocalypto" and be in defunct Old Norse and Anglo-Saxon langauges. "I'd thought about that at one time but then when you consider that English comes from the middle English language, it's not a big jump. I'll do something that's understandable for a modern audience. But it won't be the English they're used to." Gibson confirms that Leonardo DiCaprio has exited the picture, but overall, it looks like the script he's co-written with Randall Wallace is every bit as epic as you might expect. "I've got a great script. And the idea's been batting around my head for years. And I couldn't find a way to make it work, because if you look at what Vikings did, they're pretty unsympathetic. And there's no point in doing Viking light. So I had to find a way to find devices and ways to make that work dramatically, intelligently and make it seem realistic so it's about real conflict in a real era in the 9th century, so that you actually see behavior and a new mode of thought seeping in. By the 11th century there weren't any of these guys left anymore," he explained about the movie." I really hope this become true, it would be wonderful

It is bound to be wonderful. I hope that Gerry and Mel do team up. I have liked Mel's movies in the past and don't know what happened to him with all the drama in his life that he pretty much brought on himself. Jodie Foster and RDJ have never faltered in their faith in him. Perhaps the Viking movie would bring both Gerry and Mel back to the top of their game. They both share passion for their work and Gerry would make a spectacular Viking.

I really like the idea of Gerry being in a Viking movie I am a little worried about Mel & if he can get this project off the ground. He is not the most liked guy in Hollywood right now but he is a talented man and it would be great for Gerry to work with him.

Posted on Fri, Feb. 01, 2013 Mel & Gerard team up at Zuma By Lesley Abravanel By lank@aol.com Mel Gibson and Gerard Butler were spotted with a large group Thursday night at Zuma. Both, we’re told, were dressed casually and “in a great mood.” Gibson had a 28 oz. Tomahawk Wagyu with truffle and seemed to enjoy it so much that “it was chewed to the bone.” Butler, says our spy, “seemed a little reserved and mostly interacted with a group of beautiful ladies accompanying him at the table, occasionally gathering the crowd for a cigarette” outside on the waterfront terrace. As for Gibson, he was pretty tame, says our source. “He stayed at the table while Gerard was all over the place.” Read more here: www.miamiherald.com/2013/02/01/v-print/3212336/mel-gerard-team-up-at-zuma.html#storylink=cpy

Mel Gilbson And Gerard Butler: Hell Raiser Alert! Posted by Jose Lambiet , February 1, 2013 Print Lock the doors, pull down the blinds: Two of Hollywood’s classic hell-raisers are in South Florida! Hard-partying Lethal Weapon star Mel Gibson and 300 leading man Gerard Butler suddenly materialized in Miami yesterday, and were caught by paparazzi walking into the downtown sushi emporium Zuma. – Click here for more of South Florida’s best paparazzi shots I’m told by a spywitness that the BFFs sat down for dinner with 10 other people. Later, Gibson and Butler quietly slipped out the back door and hightailed it the SoHo Beach House hotel in Miami Beach for some late night partying. Must be the start of a beautiful bromance!
