www.sbwebspace.com/TheUntouchablesCaponeRising.htmPlotline - The rise to power of notorious Chicago gangster, Al Capone. So far Gerard Butler is the only actor to be confirmed although rumours persist about the casting of James Gandolfini, of Sopranos fame, as Capone. This would seem a strange choice to some but Gandolfini is probably no less different in appearance to Capone than De Niro was when he played the part in De Palma's original film. Previously producer Art Linson was said to be negotiating with Nicolas Cage, who was set to take the lead but he had to drop out because of schedule problems. Also, Joaquin Phoenix has been suggested in a great many forums. There have also been persistent rumours that Robert De Niro will star as Chicago mayor, William Thompson. (Cast Summary) Gerard Butler ... Jimmy Malone James Gandolfini (Rumoured) ... Al Capone Robert De Niro (Rumoured) ... William Hale Thompson We also understand that Paramount have put the release date back to 2009 as it was originally going to be released in the Autumn of 2008. However, due to arguments over the rights to the project the film may not be completed until 2010-2011

Well, if anyone has had experience of playing a mobster, it would be Gandolfini. I think he would be a great choice and it would be cool to have DeNiro be in the film in any form after playing the lead in the original.

I saw the origional one in the theaters and there is one scene that gave me nightmares. All these people are sitting around a banquet table set for a formal dinner..pure white. The guests are in white dinner jackets. Al Capone is walking around the banquet table talking about loyalty or something. Then he comes to someone and he strikes his head with the bat and you hear this hollow thud. Then the camera moves to the table setting and you continue to hear the hollow thuds with blood splattering all over the white setting. UGH I'm not sure even with Gerry in the movie wether I would have the guts to watch it.

This is supposed to be filmed in Chicago; that's as close as I will ever get to Gerry (possibly about an 8 hour drive for me). It would almost be worth the money to stay in an hotel near by and search for him. *dreams*. Not to mention, I have never been to Chicago before and it would be an experience.

It would almost be worth the money to stay in an hotel near by and search for him. *dreams*. Not to mention, I have never been to Chicago before and it would be an experience. That would be great if you could find out where he was filming. He is supposed to come to Detroit to film in the early spring, but if they don't have the casting call for extras it really would be like trying to find a needle in the haystack. For one thing I doubt very highly that he would be staying in a hotel in Detroit (the city itself) I would expect he would be staying in one of the suburbs and be shuttled in everyday. Plus there is tons to do not to mention we Detroit is a stones throw from Canada. There are casinos in Detroit and across the border in Canada as well. Also a lure to Windsor Canada is the strip clubs where unlike the USA the girls can strip down to nothing except one article of clothing...shoes and gloves count. I don't know... This is just me speculating but Gerry seems like the type of guy who has wandered into a strip club or two in his life time. This is a big attraction in Windsor and the couple big clubs that are there the places are nice (as strip clubs go) and the girls are beautiful. Nope I wouldn't even bother to go down there at all if there is no casting call.

Surely they have to register for permits and the like especially if they will be closing down streets. Under the freedom of information act they would have to share that info with you if you can find the right department. My hubby tells me I should be a professional stalker or a private investigator. hehehe
