www.gq-magazine.co.uk/style/articles/2012-05/10/gerard-butler-movies-star-style-fashion-picturesIn praise of Gerard Butler’s (not very) Spartan style For someone who made his name in a loincloth, Gerard Butler has got a pretty spectacular suit wardrobe. He's been on our radar for a while but his eye-catching McQueen black tie at this week's Costume Institute Gala ball has inspired us to take a look back at some of our favourites. 1. Dolce & Gabbana 2. Salvatore Ferragamo 3. Calvin Klein 4. Alexander McQueen 5. John Varvatos 6. Pringle of Scotland 7. Gucci 8. Louis Vuitton 9. Versace 10. Burberry

Oh, my. Thank you, God. And Elenoire for this thread.
I won't try to pick a fave, but I remember how my jaw dropped when he appeared in the Varvatos last year. He looked like he knew how spectacular he looked and was getting a big kick out of it. I don't have the link but one article commented "The men just wear tuxes or dark suits. But one man really did it up right – Gerard Butler, who’s not known for his style. He wore a John Varvatos Collection Midnight three piece tuxedo, a grey dress shirt and slim tie, and a pair of black Richards boots. All in all, it’s a Saville Row crossed with rock n’ roll Rolling Stones kinda look – and the fit is amazing. He should wear Varvatos all the time. A guy this masculine in truly fabulous clothes is just irresistable." Yes, indeed.
I do think sometimes the photographers should be shot for weird perspectives.

I love it, irishrockchick. Oh, for the talent and skill to create a Gerry vid with this song!

I'm not very good with things like that, so maybe someone will be kind enough to piece it together.

Holy shite! This is a great thread! Now I know most of us prefer Gerry with as little on as possible- myself included- but the suit is a close second. Oh- or a kilt- but I digress. The look his face in the Gucci tux (Vanity Fair) makes my knees wobbly and my palms sweaty.

Gerry's tall frame with broad shoulders and slender waist is just perfectly suited for suits I bet dressing him is a designer's dream... Well, most of the time. He looks so dashing in a suit... Ok, dressing Gerry is not only a designer's dream... I like the idea of where the dressing starts...

Elenoire, you're good!!! You even got the designers... Awesome!!! How many ever wonder if Gerry gets some of his suits for free. Not that he can't afford to dress himself but I am pretty sure that some of the companies give stars some of their clothes for the red carpet and in return the star is expected to plug the designer he is wearing to the media.
