Not so sure about how successful this film is going to be - too many actors have exited this project it makes me wonder... Oldman dropped out and we now know Mickey Rouke did not sign - WOW, this is definitely late casting,,,, starting to remind me of Law Abiding Citizen with all of the last minute changes. Good Luck Gerry & Adrian hope you guys pull off a great film. Adrien is a great actor but he has made some horrible choices. Hm, that sounds familiar. I hope this movie is a good choice for both of these underrated actors and they'll shine and play well off each other.

Can anyone tell us where we find the script for Motor City? I thought it was on this site but now I don't know where it is. Please let us know! Thanks! Oh yeah, it might be fun to watch Adrian and Gerry in the same movie. Although it sounds like everyone has lines but Gerry. Boo! It takes place in the 70s....long hair, moustaches. Too bad Gerry's hair is so short for this one. SD, I had saved the .pdf when it first surfaced and fortunately I also saved the link: www.mediafire.com/?hzdd1ydjfquThis is a first draft from 2009. There is also another article that has a bit of history by a fellow who I think wrote another version and I'll post that link when I find it. Sure hope Adrien's a keeper--all these changes so close to filming are distressing.

One more thing about the Motor City script. Do read this one: www.mypdfscripts.com/sheridan-reviews-motor-city/ first - because it explains a lot about the lack of dialogue and will give some perspective which helps when you read the script itself.

Am I the only one wondering why they chose to do the "Friday night dump" on the news about Brody? Why did they wait to put this out there until all the columnnsts are off for the weekend?
Regarding the lateness of the choice, the casting for OHF was finalized very close to the start of shooting and the cast turned out to be pretty spectacular.

www.cinemablend.com/new/Adrien-Brody-Go-Up-Against-Gerard-Butler-Motor-City-32644.html"MOVIE NEWS Adrien Brody To Go Up Against Gerard Butler In Motor City Author: Eric Eisenberg Adrien Brody found himself playing the villain when he portrayed the insane drug dealer Psycho Ed earlier this year in the pot comedy HIGH School, and now he's getting set to play another part on the antagonist side. The Oscar-winning actor is now in talks to play the central villain in Motor City, the new film from director Albert Hughes. The role was originally going to be played by Gary Oldman, however, he recently dropped out of the production. Variety, who reported the Brody casting, says that production is gearing up to start in the middle of next month with Gerard Butler set to star. The story follows a man who gets sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit and, upon his release, goes on the hunt for the people who framed him. Chad St. John wrote the script for the movie. It was recently said that Mickey Rourke is in talks to join the project as well, however, the new report doesn't mention his name. It's unclear if this means that Rourke is not involved with the production or if the trade doesn't have the latest information. Famed producer Joel Silver and his Dark Castle banner are producing the movie along with Andrew Rona, Ethan Erwin, Randall Emmett and George Furla. Brody recently completed work on two projects, namely the Xiaogang Feng drama 1942 (which co-stars Tim Robbins) and Vince Offer's InAPPropriate Comedy (which also has Rob Schneider, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lindsay Lohan). Motor City will be released by Warner Bros. next April."

collider.com/adrien-brody-motor-city/191255/"Adrien Brody to Antagonize in MOTOR CITY; Jason Momoa to Play the Villain in David Hayterfs WOLVES by Dave Trumbore Posted: August 24th, 2012 at 5:49 pm Everyone loves a villain, especially when those villains are played by Adrien Brody (Predators) and Jason Momoa (Conan the Barbarian). Brody is in talks to antagonize Gerard Butler (300) in Motor City, a revenge thriller scripted by Chad St. John (The Punisher: Dirty Laundry) and directed by Albert Hughes (Fro Hell). Momoa will star in Wolves, the directorial debut of David Hayter, the writer of 2000Œs X-Men. The supernatural flick has Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class) going up against Momoa in a battle of werewolves (Good luck, Till). Hit the jump for more on both pictures. Variety reports that Brody will take over the villainous role in Motor City. So far, it looks like Butler and the recently added Mickey Rourke (The Expendables) are the only locks for the film, so wefll see what happens with Brody. The picture previously courted Jake Gyllenhaal, Dominic Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Clive Owen, Amber Heard and Gary Oldman and none of them are currently associated with the project. Motor City follows a felon who goes out for revenge on the people who framed him after hefs released. The picture stars production in Atlanta on September 17th and will be released by Warner Bros. in April of 2013. In other villainous news, Variety also reports that Momoa will play the werewolf patriarch of Lupine Ridge, a small town with a history of supernatural events. Tillfs character, a werewolf falsely accused of murdering his own parents, attempts to find sanctuary in the town when he goes on the run. They also report that Merritt Patterson (The Hole) has joined the production. Writer/director Hayter will begin production on Wolves next month in Toronto. X-Men: First Class make-up supervisor Dave Elsey will design the creature effects and make-up for Wolves, as well. Check out what he had to say about the violent and bloody picture in his recent interview with Steve." ...........i guess vampires & werewolves just go together

I'm sorry but this news about Brody make me speechless for many reasons. I really wonder why so many actor skip this movie. There are many others actors better than Brody for this role.

www.deadline.com/2012/09/gerard-butler-drama-motor-city-stalls-before-reaching-start-line-crew-sent-home/Gerard Butler Drama ‘Motor City’ Stalls Before Reaching Start Line: Crew Sent Home By NIKKI FINKE | Saturday September 1, 2012 @ 10:05am PDT EXCLUSIVE: The plug was pulled this morning on Motor City, the revenge drama that was scheduled to start production next month with Albert Hughes directing and Gerard Butler, Mickey Rourke and Adrien Brody starring. The film was in pre-production, and the crew was just told to go home. Insiders tell me that Motor City stalled after the film’s backers, Emmett/Furla Films and Mark Damon’s Foresight, realized that the release date given them by Warner Bros through its deal with Joel Silver’s Dark Castle turned out to be a drop dead date. That meant the film would only have had 12 weeks of post production. It wasn’t enough time. They needed that studio release to justify all of the foreign distribution deals made for the film by Damon. As a result, they could not secure a bond and couldn’t move forward. Insiders tell me they still want to make the picture, but they are going to have to do some work under the hood of Motor City to put it all back together again. Since the plug was just pulled, the backers are now dealing with the ramifications with cast, crew and filmmaker. It is unclear at present if Warner Bros will be involved down the line. In the film, Butler plays a man who gets out of prison and is bent on revenge against those who framed him. A spokesperson for the producers and financiers confirmed the shut down and issued this statement to Deadline: “Faced with the realities of a very short post-production schedule and complicated visual and special effects, the producers have decided to push back production on Albert Hughes’ Motor City. We are dedicated to delivering top-tier productions such as 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg which is currently in production and Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor which is in pre-production. The circumstances surrounding this project made it impossible to meet the firm March 31st delivery date without compromising the quality of the film.” While indie films that get halted just before production starts often do so because of money woes, insiders said that isn’t the case here and that it was more about the requirement of a bond and the hardship that a hard release created. Emmett/Furla Films, in partnership with Envision Entertainment, has become a prolific financier/producer of mid and higher range action drama, and recently got $275 million more in funding and a new TV division. On the feature side, EFF just wrapped the thriller Broken City with Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones, with Fox releasing in January; EFF is also funding the Arnold Schwarzenegger-Sly Stallone teamup The Tomb with Summit releasing; the drama 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington and Wahlberg for Universal; the Reese Witherspoon starrer Rule #1; the action thriller Empire State with Dwayne Johnsonand Emile Hirsch; the Stephen Frears-directed Lay the Favorite with Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall, Zeta-Jones and Vince Vaughn with The Weinstein Company distributing; the John Cusack-Nicolas Cage-starrer Frozen Ground, Fire With Fire with Josh Duhamel, Willis and Rosario Dawson and Freelancers with Robert De Niro, Forest Whitaker and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. EFF is preparing to start production on the Peter Berg-directed Navy SEAL drama Lone Survivor with Wahlberg.

Damn!
I knew something bad was going on when they dropped the Adrien Brody news so late last Friday nite. Looked like maybe they were trying to salvage the project. Guess they didn't. I'm really sorry to hear this news. Hopefully our dear Mr B has another ace up his sleeve.
