I assume that at this stage, Gerry in 'Wallace' www.express.co.uk/posts/view/307772is just wishful thinking and speculation, but I would love to see him in a role like this. If there was one role G was BORN to do it is William Wallace. I didn't mind the Mel Gibson movie, but to do it true justice it would need a real braveheart like Gerry to fill the kilt (yes I know that the real William Wallace did not wear a kilt. Historically, kilts weren't even around until the sixteenth century, and William Wallace was born in approximately 1272...but you know what I mean!!) I think doing a television mini series wouldn't be a bad thing given the way the movie business seems at the moment. It would give more people an opportunity to see it (unlike MGP and Coriolanus!) and would have a financial guarantee to some degree up front. It would, if being made by STV, probably be filmed in Scotland, which would maybe be a good thing, enabling G to go back to his roots for a few months and get some Highland Therapy..always good for the soul! The only down side would be it being another physical movie, with lots of fighting and big sword swinging ..not good for bad backs On a plus side..a good one for beard lovers and a role retaining a Scottish accent!!

This is sure on my wish list--my heart beats faster just thinking about it. Speaking of TV mini-series, whatever happened to Pinkerton
