I am a fan of GB's and have not really not liked one of his movies but Nim's Island was horrible. I mean not the actors but the whole story was chaotic and really ridiculous. Okay so what's ya'll feedback. Go on...I can take it.

This movie came up as a Director's Selection through my DVD club. I ordered it.

Well, i won't call it horrible, still it was a movie for children and i certainly would not have seen it if not for GB. And Judie Foster wasn't the most fortunate choice.....

I liked the young actress, Abagail Breslin in "Little Miss Sunshine". She is so adorable.

Yeah Abby is sweet. But it was the story line and some of Jodi not fitting quite well. I don't know it felt boarder-line corny.

I liked Nim's. It was definitely a movie for kids. I thought Gerard was great and funny as Alex Rover, and he and Jodie played off of each other really well.

I really loved Gerry as Alex Rover all dressed like Indiana Jones ans looking so hot. I didn't like Jodie Foster in this film, though. Abbie was a darling as always. Cute movie, but definitely for kids (except for seeing Gerry half-naked, that was for us girls )

lol...I guess its really me then. I thought this movie was one of the poor films for GB. I know its more kids but I expected more. The story line was just too weak. The acting was good. But the story was just not what I would have liked to see. I am a true movie critic so even though I LOOOOOOVE GB I would not promote this film.
I am realistic I guess but I am glad I watched it for free. lol

Uh....well, I just saw it for the first time yesterday. And only because I was able to buy it at a gas station for ten dollars.
I'm sorry, kids....this film was a giant stinker. Almost as bad as "Shattered" (none of his films was as terrible as that one). I love G....but I'm certainly not blind! LOL!
His acting was way over the top....and the child was obnoxious. I actually cringed in embarassment at some of the scenes. G was clearly just looking for a project between projects. And a paycheck. And perhaps a mini vacation down under.
Thumbs WAY down for this turkey.

I liked both Shattered and Nim's. Shattered was rather deep in its message. My Husband was most emotionally moved by it. It made him feel a loss of control that was nearly animalistic. It affected him so that he won't watch it again but it made an impact. Nim's is a kid's movie even a girls movie. It wasn't meant to be deep. I thought it was great and it really showcased GB flexibility being able to work with kids. Not all actors can. Showed his lighter side.

I liked Shattered and was so surprised at the ending. Nim's is whimsical and cute. Abigail is so adorable. I don't think Jodi Foster was a great fit to this film, but I liked both of Gerry's characters for this. To see him play the father (especially the father wet and shirtless )and then play Nim's hero Alex Rover was a special double treat.
