Does anyone know what the symbol is that Gerry wears around his neck? It looks like a man with hoof feet or something. He also has it as a statue in his home. If you look at this video you will see the iron man in the background which is the same as the one on his chain around his neck. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-czGJFEjLg&feature=related

It's weird I've been wearing jewelry like his for years before I knew who he was maybe since I was 14. Most of it I make myself. I love Celtic crosses and that. Gerry looks more rock n'roll in it though.

One pendant was a Celtic sign. I also know that Gerry is some what into mythology (I think) as well. I know he has a mural painted on the ceiling of his New York home of a scene from Greek Mythology. This is Pan, could this be the image you are seeing. PAN was the god of shepherds and flocks, of mountain wilds, hunting and rustic music. He wandered the hills and mountains of Arkadia playing his pan-pipes and chasing Nymphs. His unseen presence aroused feelings of panic in men passing through the remote, lonely places of the wilds. The god was a lover of nymphs, who commonly fled from his advances. Syrinx ran and was transformed into a clump of reeds, out of which the god crafted his famous pan-pipes. Pitys escaped and was turned into a mountain fir, the god's sacred tree. Ekho spurned his advances and fading away left behind only her voice to repeat forever the mountain cries of the god. Pan was depicted as a man with the horns, legs and tail of a goat, and with thick beard, snub nose and pointed ears. He was often appears in the retinue of Dionysos alongside the other rustic gods. Greeks in the classical age associated his name with the word pan meaning "all". However, it true origin lies in an old Arkadian word for rustic. ____________________________ I know from some of your posts that you are worried about Gerry and his religious choices. He was raised Catholic but I know he's been exploring aspects of different religions. Like Hinduism, from his love of India. He also said that Sam Childers and his role in MGP gave him something to think about. One thing I can guarantee you that he is not a Pagan.

That's Jesus. My friend has the same necklace but silver and on a silver chain. It's a crucifix without the cross. It's just kinda an artsy crucifix. I think it's cool.

There you go, only I think Gerry's may be nickle or brass? I don't think it's gold, but could be a tarnished silver.

Isn't he wearing the two new necklaces in OM&M? He tends to wear jewelry for movies and wears them offscreen as well while he's filming. He has the same bracelets on from OM&M as well.

He probably wears the Jesus necklace when he goes home to visit his Mum. Something tells me she's pretty religious.

OK, here's a crazy theory too! The crucifix one from Glasgow airport is a surf necklace style and it is just a figure in a crucifix position, without the cross. Maybe it could be some sort of surfer necklace tribute to Jay Moriarity, after his famous "iron cross" wipeout photo at Mavericks. Just a theory anyway, but I also like the idea of Gerry having a crucifix out of respect for his mum and family faith.
