Have you ever watched a show or movie where they made a reference to Gerry or one of his movies? I'm sure you have. Let's list some funny ones. I just watched an episode of The Big Bang Theory. What a fun show with lots of pop culture references, mainly Science Fiction of course.... But in the episode "The Toast Derivation" was a very fast, funny Gerry reference. It came very sudden and was a surprise and I couldn't believe my ears.... Then I just went If you have a chance to watch it, listen for it.

The only one I had was when I was listening to my morning radio guys and they were interviewing Judy Greer and she said that in her career she's been able to work with some of the sexiest men in the business and she mentioned our Gerry.

Yes man does alot of 300 gags. At the start of the movie you see Jim Carrey buying the DVD then a little on down the movie he's actually watching it. Then there's a sparta party too later in the movie.

Then there's a sparta party too later in the movie. Cool, I have to watch it. 300 is a huge part of pop culture. There is "Meet The Spartans". I think they devoted a Southpark episode to 300 as well. And lots more. This year there also was a SNL spoof of a pretend talk show that featured a fake Gerry and a fake Hugh Jackman. In the movie "Friends With Benefits" they make references to The Ugly Truth. I've never seen FWB but the TUT reference was even in the trailer for FWB.

I saw meet the spartans before I saw 300. I fecking loved it but it wasn't until I saw 300 that I got some of the jokes like the paris hilton monster.

I should watch it again. I kept thinking when I saw FWB that they wanted to create a film along the lines of TUT but failed miserably. The film would have been so much better with more mature actors. Even Stelios (as in my husband) commented at one point that Gerry and Heigl would have made FWB much funnier and enjoyable and would have given it the edge it seemed to be lacking. You have to admit that Stelios is coming along nicely in the Butler world. :-) Anyway, can you imagine all those bedroom scenes but with Gerry? Yummy! I get the feeling though that Gerry prefers not to have to do love scenes. Does anyone else think so as well?

In one of the trailers for FWB they showed in theaters they walk by the poster for TUT and the girl (Mila Kunis?) said something about "another stupid Karherine Heigl movie". I saw that trailer in the movie theater with "Bad Teacher" (which was a horrible movie choice). And that poster was the only interesting thing about the FWB trailer, it looked boring and generic otherwise. I've never seen FWB, just the trailer with the TUT poster in it. Maybe that scene didn't make the movie? I'm sure if it did you would have noticed it, Terez.

I remember watching that episode and cracking up when she said that. I just couldn't believe my ears. Too funny. I just finished "Agent X" today, the sequel to The Bricklayer. There is a 300 reference in it. I wonder if the author already knew Gerry was in talks to play the main character and put it in as an inside joke.... It's such a shame that the author died of cancer recently. It's so sad. We are going to lose many great books he could have written if he had lived.

I know there is a picture of Gerry way before he was famous and in fact I think he was in a play in London and he had a South Park t-shirt on. I bet he would never think South Park would be doing a Parody based on his performance.

I bet he would never think South Park would be doing a Parody based on his performance. That was in an episode of Lucy Sullivan. Gerry admitted in an 2008 interview that Southpark is his favorite TV show.

the skit: when the three guys were 'fixing' up a female coworker (to keep her occuppied so they could do their thang) and they kept mentioning 'gerard butler' has being what girls love as hottie....
can't find the skit on youtube....((insane clown posse skit))
ps - i think gerry may get a little squirmy before the love scenes..but, you'd never know it on camera! he EXUDES sexiness!

The Big Bang Theory had a POTO reference in an episode tonight. Howard tries to get his girlfriend back and Leonard tells him to dress up in a mask and abduct her at the opera house... Love that show, it's so full of pop culture references.
