So it has been determined from a tweeter in Uruquay who is also a gossip blogger LOL that Gerry was dining at the Hotel Fasano in Punta Del Este Uruguay and we are assuming that is where he is staying. That hotel has just opened as noted, and even if they have already had their grand opening they no doubt have big New Year's Eve celebration event planned. Whether Gerry was invited by the hotel as hotels are prone to do, they like to glitz up their parties with a few celebrities, or is enjoying time there with some of his Brazilian friends we are not sure. For a new hotel especially you want to garner as much attention as possible. Punte Del Este is an resort area that is called the St. Tropez of Uruquay and known to the playground of the South American Elite and may be trying to expand that to the global elite. New Year's Eve in South America always sounds like a good plan! And since it seems Gerry will be either filming or preparing to film in Louisiana around the time of Carnavale he is likely going to be foregoing Rio. This tweeter is the one who took the photos and she confirmed to one of the Gals mods that this was indeed in Punta del Este Uruquay at the Hotel Faisano, there was initial confusion whether this was in Brazil or Uruquay as Fasano is a chain of hotels in Brazil. It is however in Portuguese and we will be seeing that a lot in the next few days I imagine. twitter.com/claudiaiTo translate it more easily, go to Google, go to Twitter Search and enter claudiai or @claudiai if you want to see the replies as well, and there is a translate into English feature at the side. She also notes that she was asked to stop taking photos but that Gerry did wave her over to speak to her.

It says that Gerry raised his glass of white wine... Remember girls, it was likely water, people assume. Also doesn't Punta, mean whore in Italian.... or it's a word like that? Punta del Este has always been known for its beaches, shops, restaurants and the hype that surrounds the resort. A while here, nice beach international invade what has been known to unite Brazilians, Argentines and Uruguayans. The proof? In the photo above? On the evening of Thursday, I caught Ronnie Wood dining in the hotel restaurant Fasano, accompanied by Brazilian girlfriend, Ana Araujo. Unlike what many people think, the Rolling Stones guitarist was a gentleman, as any English. The musician, 62, has said it is planning a union official because he was right and that Ann is a good influence and that helped him stay away from alcohol addiction. I could check to close that line is not lacking in the couple! The photo proves it. Who was also dining at the same restaurant was the heartthrob Gerard Butler. In one of the tables of the most lively place, the handsome went almost unnoticed. Using a striped shirt in shades of pink, very excited and at one point raised his glass of white wine and talking toast: Happy New Year! Known for works such as King Leonidas in 300, Phantom of the Opera, the film version and Gerry Kennedy in PS I Love You, the hunk was nice. When I asked to take a picture of Gerard asked, "Where?". I replied, "Here!" pointing to my desk. That was when the Scot chipped: No, only if you come up here. And the brunette on the photo? Yes, the actor left the restaurant with some friends and the brunette.

Thanks Dianne for the article and the translation ...and the word Punta means Cape in Italian, also in Spanish. The mean word you are looking for is similar

Two questions:
1. Why didn't the blogger go over to Gerry to have the photo? Such a wasted opportuinity (for her and us). :-) 2. Most importantly, have you noticed those shoulders, Gerry's I mean? I know the shirt and chain can be distracting but ladies, focus, imagine those shoulders in the right shirt! :-)

She tweeted that an actor that were in Rio in Carnival was there (at the restaurant) but didn't know his name. Then started to call him Gerald That's why she said he raised his wine glass...they don't know he doesn't drink alcohool....
