Weirdly Obsessive Gerard Butler Fans just received an appeal to raise money for Sam Childers mission in Africa. They are in need of some supplies and we all know that Gerard Butler Fans have been very generous thus far and are among some of the most generous in the world. I was asked to post this link www.machinegunpreacher.org/ and encourage all Gerry fans to give at least $20, which would go a long way towards taking care of these children. Many things are needed and if you would like you can specify where your donation will go; bulletproof vests, or the new bush plane, water tower, ect.... You may also go here www.angelsofeastafrica.org and watch some different videos and a cute promo for getting the bush plane that will service both orphanages once he gets the second one built, and to make drops for food and health supplies to various villages in the bush. When you click on the link www.machinegunpreacher.org/ Just click on the contact link and they will give you information on how to give your donation. I"m sure if you write one of the emails they will give you info on how to send through paypal. I prefer to send a written check to the address provided. Take a look around the site, I did and its quite interesting. Sam is doing some great work. I appealed for $20.00 above but I am sure any amount would be appreciated. Sincerely, The staff

Thanks for the link and I agree, I would rather send a check than go through paypal.

Hello, I'm new here and I got Sam's approval to raise money for bulletproof vests (BPVs) for his soldiers. I checked with him in person when I visited the Shekinah Fellowship Church (just south of Reels Corner, in Central City, PA), August 7-8. Of course he needs money to finance the rescues and provide health care and education for the kids who live in the Children's Village; but I also thought some BPVs would be a good idea to help protect him and his soldiers, not only when they go out into the bush and on rescues, but also when they're protecting the orphanage at night. The terrorists are out to stop Sam--just as fervently as he is out to stop them.
Zac Simpson, Sam's primary cinematographer, is also publicizing the BPV campaign on the Machine Gun Preacher Reality Series Facebook page--please befriend him! You can email boyerspond@aol.com to let the staff know you're pledging a certain amount to the BPV campaign and then donate online using a credit card or Paypal. Or you can send a check to the Angels of East Africa, PO Box 131, Central City, PA, 15926. Tell them Diane sent you! You can also donate to their general fund and Sam will use the money where it's needed most. You can still say you'd like it to go for something in particular, such as educational materials, medical supplies, or clothing, etc.
I'm also working on proposals to send to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for their support of AOEA. I'd like to think the only question Gates would have for Sam is, "Would you like that as a direct deposit or a check?" ;-) Wish us luck!
Thanks, the "other" Diane (one "n")

Got this today from Holly about the MGP Auction...
Sure thing, Dianne! Glad to hear from you! In fact, I sent an email to info@weirdlyobsessivegerardbutlerfans.com from my GCF account (holly@galscharitablefoundation.com), yesterday. I am excited to tell Rev. Childers you've accepted the invitation on behalf of WO!
At the time of this writing, we currently have 2 bids at $1,500. Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Holly
And this....
Dear "Team Gerry":
I am writing you in hopes that you will consider promoting a fundraiser which will benefit Angels of East Africa. The fundraiser consists of a silent auction to sell eight of Rev. Childers' personal tickets to the upcoming L.A. premiere/Special Screening of Machine Gun Preacher on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, which will be personally hosted by Rev. Sam Childers and Gerry. The winners will be considered Rev. Childers' personal guests and will have the opportunity to meet Gerry, get an autograph, etc.
The specific details for the auction may be found here. Should you desire to participate, you are encouraged to amend the posted content in order to customize it to suit your particular website and claim it as your own. (A "site neutral" email account has been created for this purpose). As long as the "conditional information" is correct, creating your own post and/or promotion is ideal! With time being such a valuable commodity, if it's more convenient, you're also welcome to simply re-post the link provided herein. Of course, if you would be so kind as to use your various social networking accounts to promote your personalized post or the link at GCF, it would be most appreciated!! The object of the game is to give a fan the opportunity to meet Gerry and Sam, while raising as much money as possible for AOEA.
I thank you in advance for your consideration. Should you join us in supporting this worthy cause, Sam and, of course, Gerry, please let me know so that I may provide you or your representative with further updates.
Sincerely,
Holly Ghere
