ava wrote: "I was so sad as Brianna was gone and James had that dream of Jem...awww heartbreaking" I've just read this part and was crying, then my daughter asked me why I was do sad!!!!! Really heartbreaking! I know that was so sad. And I thought it was cute when he told Jem to say hi to Michael Mouse for him.

Where does a video like this fit in a Jamie Fraser thread ? Well, actually the almost unhuman strength, the endurance, the undying love, the comraderie and the strong, passionate emotions written on his face, just brought in my mind the stubborn yet lovely Scott.

Hey girls, have you ever "talked" about the funny scenes from the books? I don't remember if we already had discussed this. I'll say mine..from all the books it's the one Jamie was honored with two young indian girls visit at one night at the Snowbird people" house"( ABOOSA chapter 14). It made me want to play the Hide (and find)-the-sausage game with Jamie Fraser

This has to be the funniest line in that book: "I'll leave it to you, Sassenach," he said dryly, "to imagine what it feels like to arrive unexpectedly in the midst of a brothel, in possession of a verra large sausage."

Well, i know our opinions tend to differ, yet i must admit this: I perhaps have seen some other young fellows in similar (Outlandish) discussions who look more like Jamie as described in the book. YET.... The more i see pics of young Gerard the more i'm convinced he could be perfect for the role. Young Gerard as well as young Jamie posses a great innocence that is mainly seen in his huge blue/green eyes...as they grow older ( both Gerard and Jamie) they tend to look more rough and self confident even a little bit cynical , maybe not so innocent anymore yet something from this juvenile flame still sparkles in their gaze..

Glad to give you another perspective, Ava ! I expect to finish the book tongight - how on earth did YOU, me lass, managed to finish the saga already is beyond me - and come rushing back to discuss it further ! Moreover i found another analogy between Jamie and Gerard: They both had to wait a long for the right woman to come..... well, sort off....! (Well, i've chosen that particular nickname for a reason...an obvious one !!!! )

Well, in my attempt to read it slower and more carefully so I don't miss anything, I have finally (Finally!) started The Fiery Cross yesterday. Last time I read these, it only took me two months to read all six and now its taken me over three months to read four. Ah well, I should be either done or close when the next one comes out.
Is it just me or does it seem like the last day of the Gathering lasted longer than it should have? I start to wonder if there were enough hours in the day to complete everything they did in that last day. This was always the hardest part for me to get through... that and the party at River Run in either this one or the last book. The one thing I love in The Fiery Cross was Jamie's confession to the priest when he mentions watching Claire churn butter and the thoughts he was having... you all know what I'm talking about.
