First, here's a snippet from that day: They got the date wrong, it says Tuesday June 16 but it WAS Monday. x17video.com/celebrity_video/gerald_butler/gerald_butler_talking_with_fan.phpNow, here's my story. My Gerry Story On Monday, June 15, I went to the location shooting of The Bounty in Brooklyn. It was only a 40-minute train ride and subway away. I went with no expectations of actually meeting Gerry. I thought "I'll take my chances and if it happens that'll be awesome!" I arrived with a couple of friends around 9:00 AM. there wasn't much going on, and we were told the actual shooting would begin in a couple of hours. So we went for breakfast. As we were walking back to the set one of my friends pointed to a rooftop and said "There he is!" There he was indeed, on the rooftop preparing for his scene to be shot. We watched him film a few takes, just happy that we were lucky enough to see him in the glorious flesh. He peered over the edge (it was a 3-story building) and waved to people to the left of us. Then he spotted out little group (5 or 6 of us) and waved to us. We waved back and I gave him a thumbs up. He returned the gesture with the two thumbs up picture I posted in The Bounty Filming in Brooklyn thread. We were ecstatic. He saw us! They filmed the scene a few more times (Gerry running to the edge, looking over for someone, rubbing his head in frustration, and then running away). After a while (it was probably around noon by now) there was a break in filming but he did not appear. They resumed filming and we saw him still on the rooftop. Then around 2:00 someone saw him across the street. He waved to us and we respectfully waved back. No shouts of "Gerry I love you!" Everyone was calm, in control and just happy to be able to even see him in person. Then he changed his direction and headed right for us. we were all like "OMG he's coming over!" But very subtle, not like getting all crazed. I think that may have influenced his decision to come over. He felt we were "safe." He recognized one woman whom he'd met before and went to her first. Then he went down the line giving hugs. Believe it or not he actually kissed two of my friends on the lips!! Lucky bitches, indeed. One of them later said "I think he kissed me because I didn't turn my head." I guess he saw lips and went for them LOL. And NO they were not young skinny things, they were "regular" ladies. It was nice to see he's open to all. Ha-ha. I did not smell any particular aroma (I know some of you want to know that) from him. I did not consciously "sniff" him but I don't remember smelling anything. Then I was the first to ask if I could get a picture and he said "Sure."He took more pics, spoke to us about how he did a stunt and pulled his groin, all the while rubbing his inner thigh. OMG, did I want to volunteer to massage it! But I chickened out LOL. He introduced us to his "best mate" from Scotland that he went to law school with. He told a story about being at his mate's New Year's Eve party and how he kept dropping his lager. He also said he thought his friend's uncle was Phil Donahue. What a good storyteller he is. Then he went to take a picture with the fire-fighters next to us, the one with them saluting. His "handler" said "He's got to go now." Gerry made sure everyone had their time with him and we were floating on air the whole time. My wish for you all is that you get to have the same type of experience with him as I did. It was magical. Check out the third photo down. Recognize anyone? ;D vice.typepad.com/vice_magazine/2009/06/new-york-being-a-pest-on-a-movie-set.html

Queenie, I love the story and the video was great! He seemed so relaxed and happy. It was nice that the fans were so relaxed and made him feel at ease. Now tell me, is he even that much better looking in person or did you think he was similar to how his pics come across? Also, did he seem tall, large? Things I just always wanted to know. I've heard girls say he is smaller in person and other say he seems larger in person. Also, I think it is so cool and very telling that Gerry still has friends from his college days. Scots are very down to earth and if Gerry changed at all his mates would not bother with him. Tells me alot about Gerry and how he seems to be the same person he was even way back then!
You are so lucky! Thank you again for the recap!!!!

Also, this story about New Years Eve and he dropped his lager...ws he talking about dropping HIS lager or his friends? Cus G doesnt drink and if it was his beer then I raise my eyebrows....Is G still drinking and saying he's not?
I love how he came over to you himself and that he felt your group wasnt a threat. He is so awesome!!! You are a lucky girl!!!

That’s a wonderful story Queenie, good on you and your group for being such “cool” fans. I’m sure that had everything to do with him going over to greet your group.

That is so AWESOME! I am so excited and so jealous all at the same time. I'm so glad it happened to someone who truly appreciated it.
BTW, I just accidentally typed a new word -- sexcited -- I think it could be quite appropriate on this message board.

Now tell me, is he even that much better looking in person or did you think he was similar to how his pics come across? Also, did he seem tall, large? Let me start by saying I feel truly blessed at having been given the opportunity to meet and interact with Gerry the way I did. It was just the best way to experience him. To answer your questions: 1. He is TOTALLY gorgeous in person, pictures do NOT do him justice. 2. My impression is that he was actually shorter and slimmer than I thought. If you look at the picture where he's standing upright he does not appear that much taller than me and I'm 5'7. We both had sneakers on. He may have been slouching slightly in the picture though. 3. He gives GREAT hugs and has soft hands. 4. He really cares about his fans. 5. He's fecking awesome!!!! The lager thing had me stumped too. I got the impression it was his cup he was holding and maybe he was being sarcastic when he said it was at least three years ago? I hope you all have the same good fortune and have your very own special Gerry moment.

Hi steelerschik, I'm glad you've decide to start posting...We don't bite....hard. Anyway, Gerry is Bi-coastal he lives both in New York and the LA area. That would be the best place for a chance meeting. You could also keep an eye out on the New News section, sometimes when he's going to be doing a premier or a movie shoot we have info where that is and that is the only way to pin point his location. Me myself would of course love to meet him but I am happily married to a sweet guy but there is a limit to his sweetness. He puts up with my silliness and obsession with Gerry B but if I set out on a trip half way across the country for a chance meeting, I have a feeling he may start to get cranky. So my hope is that sooner or later he shoots a movie in the Detroit area. It could happen actually. In the past year Clint Eastwood shot Grand Torino here and Drew Barrymore was here and George Clooney was just here shooting a film. Also the most recently was Robert DeNiro - he was shooting a film just five miles from my house, I could have road a bike over there to hang out if I had wanted.

LOL my hubby says I can have his frequent flyers miles to go see him if I can pinpoint where I might actually run into him. I ask him if he wasn't concerned to meet someone on my to do list. There is implied permission to Do Him.
That's okay dear you'd have to talk him into it first!

...joy that's funny. (you naughty, girl) steeler! you'll have some fun! and, i agree with you i'd LOVE to meet mr. gb in the flesh as well. but, how and when? i prefer leaving it to chance. more natural. i've got some friends who (one time) were pretty assertive esp. after concert w/muscians...its a roar...when you're in a crowd...but, THIS IS about as 'groopey' as i can get....(safety in numbers eh eh eh)
