Thanks hhh! statigr.am/p/607074974803907638_434428540Today is my nephew Ben's birthday! His Dad, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow founder of @marysmeals, is working in Liberia right now with his pal Gerry, so he asked him to send Ben a message Gx Mary's Meals is an international movement that sets up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. Mary's Meals is a simple idea that works - by providing a daily meal in a place of education, chronically poor children are attracted to the classroom where they can gain a basic education that provides an escape route from poverty. Over 800,000 children receive Mary's Meals every school day. The average cost to feed a child for a whole school year is £10.70 / €12.40 / $16.80. #gerardbutler #gerrybutler #300 #thisissparta #marysmeals #child31 #love #compassion #children #education #scotland

Always so nice to see Gerry supporting charities, but I think this one is special. It is amazing how one person, like Magnus can make a difference in so many lives. A true reminder that we all can make a difference. P.S. Mary's Meals has a U.S. site- www.marysmealsusa.org/You can donate directly to a Mary's meals program here in the U.S. also.

LOL xoxo

It's really great that Gerry is getting more hands on with this charity. I think the documentary will bring more attention to this charity and the children who need so much.
I do wonder how Gerry is coping in Liberia seeing all the beautiful innocent young kids struggling so much. It's amazing how much Magnus has accomplished.
Now Abella's passing must make Gerry sad. I know I was crying at the news last night. I can imagine how it's affecting him. I hope he is doing okay over there. He's a sweetheart.

With the passing of Paul Walker, now Abella, Noah's grief and the condition of the children in Liberia. I hope he's making it through okay.

the youtube clip mentioned under the black board was viewed. i guess i've missed a lot. little abella, succumbed to brain cancer @ 4 yo, was a child involved with KKK?? i think i now recall this little one, wrapped in a very cool headdress, was held by gerry. yes, this photo touched me how this child clung (snuggled) with gerry. whatta week, huh? geesh. death seems to make its sweeping gesture known in threes or more. hopefully, this'll be the last. its SO hard during the holiday season to have that reality of death & loss of loved ones is not easy to take. i would imagine perhaps, the losses help propel gerry (and us as well) to appreciate even more our life and those we love nearest & dearest. having gratitude, sincerely & deeply felt, is a gracious way to live the rest of our days. xoxo
