I think it is impossible for GOE to be done filming by May 5th for a start of filming for London Has Fallen. The director of GOE in his last interview said the start date for that film is the end of March/ first week in April.
The recent articles regarding Gerry's role in PB were saying that Gerry had a full dance card now with GOE filming in the Spring then Point Break in the Summer and London Has Fallen being filmed at the end of the year.
I think a 3 month window will be needed at the min. for each film. In addition, they still haven't announced who the new director of London Has Fallen will be.

I wonder if it makes a difference that GOE will be filmed at a studio and so not relying on the unpredictability of location shoots? Perhaps there is a lot of post-production work as it is not due to be released until 2016? I'm not film-savvy enough to know the answer to these questions. Does anyone remember how long it took to film 300?

Does anyone remember how long it took to film 300? 300 was a 60 day film shoot in studio (but that did not include the rehearsals and training camp for actors prior to filming) it was 1 1/2 years in post-production which looks to be what is scheduled for GOE. . So the best they could do would be a 60 day film shoot, which would mean at the earliest a June start for London Has Fallen but if the press for Point Break is correct they are slated for a summer shoot instead of their original start date of March,2014 Maybe OHF has been pushed back so he can filmed Point Break.

Gerry admitted they didn't have a script for LHF yet so between the script, finding a director and planning the shoot, it may not be until late 2014 or early 2015 for that one to start.
Sadly next year we will not have a Gerry movie at all. This year it's only an animated movie. Too much time between movies coming out!
I feel lucky we had him in the documentary for Mary's Meals to tide us over a bit.

www.standartnews.com/english/read/hollywood_heartthrob_gerald_butler_due_in_sofia_to_save_london-2464.htmlSofia. This year Bulgaria is among the top destinations for pictures of Hollywood - several major film projects are already negotiated to be shot in New Boyana. One of the blockbusters that will be filmed in the country, is the sequel to the 2013 thriller Olympus Has Fallen ( Code: Olympus ) starring Gerard Butler. The second part will be titled London Has Fallen. Gerard Butler will reprise his role as US Army Ranger Mike Banning in follow-up London Has Fallen after plans to develop the film were given the green light by production house Millennium Films. Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman are also resurrecting their respective roles as US President Benjamin Asher and Speaker of the House Allan Trumball when principal photography kicks off next May. All three stars are expected to join the shooting works in Bulgaria.

Even though OHF was really good , i was bit shocked that there a sequel. It's great that Morgan Freeman and Aron is in it too. Hope it be a several movie like Die Hard. Aaack , only one Gerry movie this year. I'm going into serious withdrawl here. Better start a new Gerry marathon soon.

www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/olympus-has-fallen-sequel-acquired-700599?mobile_redirect=false'Olympus Has Fallen' Sequel Acquired by Focus Features, Gets Release Date 3:01 PM PDT 5/1/2014 by Erik Hayden "London Has Fallen," which returns Gerard Butler as a former secret service agent, is set to hit U.S. theaters on October 2, 2015. Domestic distribution rights to London Has Fallen, the sequel to last year's White House-under-attack actioner starring Gerard Butler, have been acquired by Focus Features, the company said Thursday. A release date of Oct. 2, 2015 has been slated for the sequel, which returns Butler as a former secret service agent. The action in the sequel is kick started when the prime minister of Britain dies "under mysterious circumstances." Aaron Eckhart will reprise his role as the President of the United States, while Morgan Freeman will return as Speaker Allan Trumbell. Olympus Has Fallen, which was budgeted at an estimated $70 million, was released on March 22, 2013 by FilmDistrict and grossed over $160 million worldwide in theaters. Antoine Fuqua directed the title, which was one of two films -- the other being Sony's box office disappointment White House Down -- that were released within several months of each other and depicted the destruction of the White House. The sequel will be written by Olympus Has Fallen writers Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt along with Christian Gudegast.

I am so happy to hear this! However, Morgan Freeman has recently said he will not be back. That makes sense when you think about it as the movie is taking place in London. I can't imagine they have set a date of Oct. 2nd next year when they won't start filming until May. That's an awfully short time to make a movie and have it premiere. I also thought they were going to film it in Bulgaria at the new studios there. Oh well, things can change...

They did make OHF very fast - they filmed it in June-Aug 2012 and released it in March 2013. But, they had that rush due to White House Down.
I am more disappointed to hear that Morgan Freeman is not going to be in the film.
I also think Geo-storm will not be filming as soon as I thought, if this film is a go now. Point Break is reported to start in June and it is to have a 6 month shoot, but I think that would include the production for the extreme sports. I think if they could finish by the October. That would give them a year to film and release LHF.

Don't forget, they have been filming scenes since before Gerry went to Oz. They started filming some surfing in Hawaii and they've filmed some mountain snowboarding in the Italian Alps, I think in February. I believe that they are counting in the additional filming they have been doing so far and probably are still doing as well. Actual filming with Gerry will probably only take a couple of months. He's not doing the stunts after all. He did say that he might be doing mountain trekking and maybe some surfing, but not the dangerous stuff.

n'kara. manlymovie.net/2014/07/skyscrapers-recreated-for-london-has-fallen.htmlWork is currently ongoing at Nu Boyana studios in Bulgaria to create physical reproductions of some of the tallest buildings in London, for London Has Fallen, sequel to Olympus Has Fallen. This was confirmed to ManlyMovie by a source close to Nu Boyana a few weeks ago, the constructions being described as “huge”. London Has Fallen will begin production in September in Bulgaria, although it’s not clear if the entire production will be carried out there. I expect exterior shots and the like to be continued in London itself. In the “skyscrapers”, a terrorist assault will take place and filmed with stuntmen at Nu Boyana. The story sees the Prime Minister of the UK killed by terrorists, where their plot is to carry out an even larger hit on world leaders attending his funeral, drawing them in as one crowd. Aaron Eckhart and Gerard Butler will return, but Morgan Freeman is supposedly not returning as Speaker Trumbull. No word on a director yet, but London Has Fallen will see a release on October 2nd, 2015.

:(London Has Fallen Filming Delayed By The_Night_Rider on July 30, 2014 Filming for London Has Fallen, sequel to Olympus Has Fallen, has been delayed from September to December. The film will shoot primarily in Bulgaria. It’s not clear why the delay has come in yet. A director is also still not officially attached to the movie. However it looks like it’s probably routine scheduling as work is currently ongoing at Nu Boyana studios in Bulgaria to create physical reproductions of some of the tallest buildings in London. This was confirmed to ManlyMovie by a source close to Nu Boyana a few weeks ago, the constructions being described as “huge”. Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart are the only confirmed returning cast members.
