Yes, thanks for these photos. Well worth the wait. Gorgeous, lovely man. And I love that he is having so much fun this time in Sydney, both in his role and in his downtime. I think that this has been really good for him.

While I adore these pics, Gerry looks nothing like an Egyptian but more like a Roman gladiator. I think the hair is too modern, also. I'm guessing they have taken a lot of leeway with the costumes as Hathor looks very golden and I'm not sure about the headdress. Egyptians used gold (which was very plentiful) for everything (think of King Tut's tomb) but not sure about the costumes of the men and women. They were rather plain. I want to do some research on this. The extras are very white looking, but I think with the CGI they will look different. I'm thinking the 300 effect. I just think the costuming is all wrong. I love Gerry and he looks drop dead gorgeous in these pics and I know I'll be going to see GOE over and over. I believe that Set and Hathor were married in Egyptian mythology. Now don't shoot me!!

I did a bit of research on the look of Egyptian gods, goddesses and pharaohs...see what you think. Egyptian gods, goddesses and pharaohsThis is all from authentic art work, much of which remains.

IF you look at recent HW films that depict ancient Gods ( Percy Jackson, Clash of the Titans) they dress them in armor even if it's inaccurate to the historical time period it's supposedly taking place.

There's already been comments out there about Gerry looking Roman, not Egyptian...I think it will be a drawback to the movie, unfortunately. I would prefer it to be as authentic as possible...

Must admit that was not the image of the costume design for the film that I had either.I guess it proves that this is going to be a FANTASY film first and authentic Egyptian costumes will not be needed. But to be honest, if they were going for authenticity all of the Egyptian Gods had heads of animals - according to Wikipedia this about Set: So I guess we should be seeing Gerry as a jackal if they are going to be authentic and who knows - this director is very creative so maybe Gerry will change into a jackal in the film also at times. LOL Now that would actually be cool.

It could be possible that Gerard's costume is because the film is set (or inspired) during Ptolemaic Empire in Egypt? Take a look at this link: www.ancient-battles.com/catw/egypt.htm "The Ptolemaic (/ˌtɒləˈmeɪɪk/) dynasty, (Ancient Greek: Πτολεμαῖοι, sometimes also known as the Lagids or Lagides , Ancient Greek: Λαγίδαι, from the name of Ptolemy I's father, Lagus) was a Macedonian Greek royal family which ruled the Ptolemaic Empire in Egypt during the Hellenistic period. Their rule lasted for 275 years, from 305 BC to 30 BC. They were the last dynasty of ancient Egypt.." More: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ptolemaic_dynasty also en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ptolemaic_KingdomJust saying.. Anyway, with or without Ptolemies he looks....

That's such interesting reading Lily...so much history and many dynasties. Thank you! I'd like to know in which era GOE is set (no not Set the god). I wonder if they worshipped the old gods during the reign of the Ptolemies?
