Give us a date and we'll all be flying off to OZ! That would be so awesome. Oz is huge so any idea where they may film a movie? Here is info and a pic of Set. Looks like he may be hanging around in a skirt (towel) again! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Set_(mythology)Did you say TOWEL?? ... ....Something like this? Btw, Fifi a WO Conference in Oz sounds like a great idea!! maybe we'll need the WO-Wacko-Ban again!!

There are movie studios in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and on the Gold Coast (south of Brisbane in Queensland - was this where some of Nim's Island was filmed?) - I guess if they want a desert they have thousands and thousands of acres to choose from. mumbrella.com.au/aussiewood-our-guide-to-australias-film-studios-71506If they film in Melbourne, Geoffrey will find it very handy - I think he lives there Yes, Nims Island was filmed at the studio on the Gold Coast. We hardly had any news on Gerry while he was filming in Aussie. Which means a WO Conference and plenty of scouts to find him and pass on info/pics would be a great plan! We need to make a plan! So you know a friend of the director? Any chance of inside filming news...like locations? Hmmm. Looking forward to hearing all about this adventure...from you lovely Aussie ladies! If this is true, its major excitement for us Aussie fans P.S. Geoffrey Rush does live in Melbourne

Love the pic in the headgear and towel. If anyone can rock an Egyptian skirt and head gear...it's Gerry! Imagine Gerry in the HOT DESERT filming for hours! He surely needs us to fan him, bring him cool beverages, wipe off the sweat, shower him off. Whose in? Yep, we're going to like this film shoot!

More news for Gods of Egypt...things are heating up... www.deadline.com/2013/10/brenton-thwaites-lands-gods-of-egypt-lead/Brenton Thwaites is being set to star alongside Gerard Butler, Game Of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Geoffrey Rush in Gods Of Egypt, the Summit Entertainment period epic film to be directed by Alex Proyas. Butler plays Set, a god of the desert, storms, and foreigners in ancient Egyptian religion. He killed and mutilated his own brother Osiris. Horus (Coster-Waldau), the son of Osiris, seeks revenge. Thwaites will play Bek, a human thief who cares little for the affairs of gods but when he discovers Zaya has been cursed by Set, he falls on the side of Horus, hoping that Set’s death will break the curse. The script was written by Burk Sharpless & Matt Sazama, the team behind Universal’s Dracula pic. Thwaites has been on a good roll of landing roles lately. He got Prince Charming opposite Angelina Jolie in Maleficent; he recently wrapped production on the Helen Hunt-helmed Ride as well as The Signal. Thwaites is right now shooting The Giver with Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. Thwaites is repped by Dan Spilo at Industry Entertainment and WME. I never saw this actor before, but reading his latest roles he's going to be a star very soon. That means this movie is aiming big and the cast is shaping up nicely.

www.bluemountainsgazette.com.au/story/1899165/film-incentives-to-help-decide-location-of-next-proyas-shoot/?cs=36Film incentives to help decide location of next Proyas shoot The director of I, Robot will shoot a $150 million movie in Australia from early next year but whether it will be in Sydney or Melbourne depends on a scrap over filmmaking incentives. Alex Proyas, the Australian filmmaker who has also made The Crow, Dark City and Knowing, has started pre-production in Sydney on Gods of Egypt, an action epic that will star Gerard Butler, Geoffrey Rush and Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Set in mythical ancient Egypt, it centres on a young thief, played by former Home and Away star Brenton Thwaites, who enlists the help of the gods to bring his beloved back from the dead. Butler, Rush and Coster-Waldau play the Egyptian gods Set, Ra and Horus. Proyas said the shoot could still be in Melbourne depending on the filmmaking incentives offered by NSW and Victoria. ''We definitely want to shoot in Australia,'' he said. ''It will either be in Sydney or Melbourne. ''It's who gives us the best scenario.'' Proyas has previously shot movies in both cities - Dark City and Garage Days in Sydney and Knowing in Melbourne. A decade ago, he planned to shoot I, Robot in Australia until higher financial incentives lured what became a sci-fi hit to Canada. Speaking after a talk at the Australian Directors Guild Conference on his career, Proyas said the value of the dollar was still too high to attract big budget Hollywood productions. As with The Great Gatsby, The Wolverine and Angelina Jolie's Unbroken, which is being filmed in Queensland before shifting to Sydney soon, additional incentives were needed to justify shooting in Australia. ''It's really hard getting these big movies here,'' Proyas said. ''Obviously I have a vested interest and I struggle like crazy but if at the end of the day the budget works out better in Vancouver or somewhere in Europe, it's very hard for me to argue that case. ''So whatever we can get to help our cause here, financially speaking, just makes it possible to bring the movie here.'' Until last year, Proyas planned to shoot a big-budget adaption of John Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost, with Bradley Cooper as Lucifer, in Australia. But the movie was shut down in pre-production over concerns about the $120 million-plus budget given the complex visual effects. Proyas called the collapse of that movie ''totally heartbreaking'' and said that, being Egyptian born, he had long wanted to make a movie set in ancient Egypt. He has written the script for Gods of Egypt with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who are behind the coming horror movie Dracula Untold.
